Recent Modifications

These are just some of my recent modifications to help with camping and other things while out on the trail. The previous video was all the stuff to help with the off-roading, but since i don't tow, and i actually drive to the trail and back, my rig has got to support a whole weekend or more sometimes. i will do a separate video more in depth on some of the gear, but this is just some of what i've done to support carrying that gear.
this is the music i used in this video, the website specifically states free to use, even for monetized videos, which mine are not because i have not reached subscriber and views quotas yet.

I did do a little slide show video a few days before this one. It was about the lift and the mistakes, but it was photos because I didn't film it 6 years ago when I installed it. Maybe I'll do something more in depth in the future, but for now, that one will have the best info to look at. Read the description too, all the lift info is in there.

Hi Dave, I simply love these vehicles .I sold mine about a year ago and would like to get another one . My question for you is it still the standard 2L engine?

Yessir! 2.0 L I-4 DOHC, factory Automatic transmission, factory transfer case, 5.38:1 Picorp diff gears, welded rear diff, torsen LSD front, aisin locking hubs from a Mazda pickup, etc. It could definitely use more power, but there aren't a lot of options without getting expensive fast.

Do you ever do 4x4 meets with fishing season coming up I plan on setting up my rig and going to pins

i am a member of the SAN ANTONIO 4X4 club on facebook, and i have run with them before, but i don't join their runs very often. i should probably show up to more events, but anyway... i don't really fish, although i probably should do that as well. having said all that, i would LOVE to go running some trails or even just dirt roads or the beach with another rig or 2 or 3, it's just when the numbers of vehicles climb beyond about 5 or 6, the trail can get bogged down and that is a little less fun for me. i am trying to get the Kia guys to do a Moab thing next year, but there is so far only minor interest.

What fender flares are those.. They look great on that..I have a 2000 wanted to run 32s myself

The flares are stock Sportage flares, I just trimmed the rear edge in front to fit the tire and spray painted them black.

Looks good ... Did u replace speedo gear to adjust ur speedometer? Just curious

@@ednew8254 no, as far as I know, there's no replacement. BUT, I did install the 5.38:1 diff gears from Picorp, so it at least gets me closer to correct speed and rpms, but still about 10-11% under with the 35's. At 60 on the speedo, my GPS ap tells me I'm at 66.

@@KiaDave nice I'll look into it I'm wanting to go with 32 so if available i might go with 456..I'll look up the website and see what is available.thanks.im very interested in the extended struts for the front very nice mod . hopefully there still available..

@@ednew8254 the 5.38's i have are for a 31, so since there is no 4.56 available, might wanna just bank on the 5.38's.
