An in-depth DMC1 video in 2021!? I can't believe my eyes, haha. Hope this video blows up and gets a bunch of people trying out dmc1 again. It's not perfect, but it's a fun action game in its own right still.
Fighting Phantom repeatedly is the best technique I've encountered. Also, there is the level in the sewers where you encounter the Plasma Enemies. They drop a significant amount of Red Orbs. It's another way to get a lot of Red Orbs on Hard Mode.
This guide saved me a lot of time, gonna grind the crap out of phantom on hard and maybe try to do the same on dmd. It'll depend on how many items I think I'll need. Thanks man!
@@coolkarmact7186 I couldnt figure out how to do that since i got sent to the hard difficulty after my normal mode playthrough. Is there something I have to do to be able to go through normal mode again? I don't mind starting a new save if i have to, recently got into the groove of things and having a lot of fun with the game.
@@Mort3000 Oh ok, then you do need to farm on Mission 7 for an hour or so as mentioned in the video against phantom. Then as you proceed towards the end of the game on hard mode, create a save file just as you finish Mission 22. Let's call this save file x. Now finish the game on hard mode and after that a menu will pop up asking you to choose the new mode - normal, hard or dmd. Choose dmd and save the game in a separate save file say y. Now once the game starts fresh from Mission 1 in DMD, you can reset. Because of save file y, the game will register that you have finished hard mode and that difficulty menu pop up will happen after you finish the game on any mode. Go back to save file x, finish the game and there you'll see that the game will once again ask for choosing the difficulty option and this time choose normal and save the game in another file, say z. Replay the game on normal multiple times through save file z and after finishing the game some 4-5 times and picking up items, if you feel confident, you can try out DMD.

This is a very comprehensive guide to DMC1 in general for retroactive players (going back to 1 after 2+). I'm only ⅓ in the video, but have you mentioned that health will regenerate every new mission, but DT won't, so you can buy blue orbs for before bosses and when health is low, and purple orbs to fill up DT for later?

I played through and finished this whole game in one day when I was 14... ( 2004). Reason being my parents wouldn't buy it for me but my friends snuck it over during a sleepover. I have no freaking idea now I did it back then because as an adult now replaying it again I felt so completely lost in how to grind for red orbs. I’m trying to farm Mission 13. I made a previous save before starting it and when I finished it, I’m on Mission 14. I tried going back to mission 13 but my red orbs are still the same. They are not saved. How do you solve this?
You need to save before ending the mission. Else you'll reach M14 (or rather the intermission between 13 and 14) directly. If you restart from that save file where you saved before ending the mission, then you would see that your orb count would have increased. Also, M15 is a better farming mission in my opinon. Check - 21:29
I am playing on devil may cry HD collection, and I am currently grinding out the plasmas in the room, and after a while of killing them my game lags out insanely and becomes 2 frames per second and i cannot put in any inputs, so I just lose all my progress. Is anyone else having this problem and is there a way to fix it?
Not completely sure. Suggest you reinstall your GPU/Integrated Graphics card. That should fix it. Else you can go the hard way. Save it after a few grinding rounds and then return to that same place again.
for killing the giant spider in the hallway you can just kill him easy, quickly and safely if you just buy the highest level of air raid spinner, then go in the hallway and hold down the triangle attack button to spin around for as long as you want until the spider health bar is depleted, then after you collected all of the orbs you can press pause to save the game then reload your save. then repeat this process over again until desired. thank me later
One point which I forgot to add in the video - In case you're planning to farm a bit in preparation for DMD, I would recommend replaying the game on Normal multiple times and keep picking up items that are available in game. Even though the game restricts buying items after a certain limit, there's no limit on the amount of items that can be picked up in game. This is a better way to get the yellow orbs, untouchables, devil stars, etc. rather than farming for orbs and then buying the items before boss fights. Finishing the game on Normal takes around 1.5 -2 hours on your successive playthroughs and you can get 40+ yellow orbs, 5 or more each of holy water, devil stars and untouchables. The first farming of phantom, enter the doubledoors (where u get the shotgun) where the mission starts, the scythe enemy will spawn, press R2 (taught) button to replenish DT , ask now you will have DT everytime you restart

As long as you like, just remember if you proceed to the next mission then you will not be able to fight him. Defeat him-save-reset-load that save and repeat

So when I save, do I have to save on the same save file? Like I start the game on one save?
You can save it in a different slot as well.

How long can you kill hallway phantom?
As long as you like, just remember if you proceed to the next mission then you will not be able to fight him. Defeat him-save-reset-load that save and repeat
