You guys are the exception. I think there are only two other couples I've seen that share their videos. Both of you learning together is so way cool. Congrats on your activation and your journey.
Thank you so much for the kind words and joining our journey!! We enjoy the challenge together and learning from each other. We are both thankful for our shared interests and enjoy sharing them and maybe inspiring a few others to get out there make their own!! de Becky (N4BKY) & Mike (N4FFF)
So very true! It's so easy to focus on where you want to be and how you want to improve and not reflect on all the hard work to get there! That's definitely true with CW skills. Your comment is also very true regarding making the video. It always surprises me how much more work goes into making videos than you would think 😆
That was so fun! We try to hunt back to back like that whenever we can and we were just leaving our own double POTA activation (Becky's 2nd ever) when we heard you! I saw you're new to CW as well. It's definitely a fun and rewarding challenge!! 73's Becky and Michael (N4BKY / N4FFF)
Congratulations on your first SOTA activation, and thanks for sharing with us! It was great to get you in the log. I've been hiking mountains for quite a while, and never have I had as much fun as I have over the past few years doing SOTA! Welcome to the journey!! N0QLR - 73 . .
I loved your video. I saw Wade Mountain on RUclips, which drew my attention. I live in Harvest, AL, and I was the first to activate Wade Mountain in 2015. It looks like the trails are much more civilized now as the Land Trust has been busy cleaning them up. I've lately been getting pretty active in POTA. Continue to put out videos of your adventures as this one was wonderful. 73 Stan NX3P
Thanks for joining us on our first SOTA!! The trails are definitely well marked and easy to follow. How neat to know you watched us as the first activator of Wade Mountain!! Thanks for commenting 😊
You both did a nice job, no fear to make a small mistake or missing something. Good luck next SOTA/POTA/WWFF or whatever field activation! 73, Carel PA0CMU
Thank you! It was a lot of fun and definitely nice to have each other to help catch call signs and keep us on track!! HI HI We plan to activate more for sure!
Thank so much! It was tons of fun and appears to have now also fueled a POTA addiction as well. We'll for sure be planning some trips around other SOTAs further away but with better views.
Barry, thank you for watching. It was super fun! It was much harder than I expected, maybe because of nerves, but super fun. Since recording this, we've now done a few POTA activations. Hopefully we're getting better too. HIHI
@@HamRadioDuo Thanks a bunch. My channel is still clunky. I am working out what works. I am leaning towards just being silly and curious while doing radio. I certainly take ham radio seriously. I like making videos too. Not too serious about content creation though. So it might make a good mix. 73 and hope to get y’all in the log at some point.
thanks folks another good one - i wish sum of these fast senders which u had one of wud be like the other couple you had who hold their speed but increase the spacing for us slower senders --- idk if they figure theyre better than us or just showing off - anyway there are sum with respect -- thanks again for showing the call signs - it helps a lot 73 dit dit

We love hiking and this for sure adds a whole new challenge and gives some extra reasons to go hunting for good places to hike.

Congratulations! There are no mountains where I live. Otherwise I would have already done SOTA. Keep it up! de KQ3Q
Thank you Lidi!! You might have to head north for a first SOTA :-) Thanks for the encouragement!!
Good effort guys.
Thank you so much!! We (N4FFF) just activated a POTA yesterday and caught someone in England. Maybe we can make contact sometime soon!!
@@HamRadioDuo awesome, i will add you to ham alerts.
Congratulations! I have yet to get up a mountain to SOTA. But maybe this summer. Thanks for sharing.
I saw your POTA video. Great job! Your POTA looks as rustic as our SOTA :-)
