The only guard I can do really well in in sparring is the long guard, quicker punches and distance managing, its also super easy to parry shots from it
I'd like to learn the long guard from a Muay Thai perspective I already know about the boxing perspective and it seems that they are massively different
the muai thai community, ESPECIALLY the none thai fighters, all think they have the end all be all style. your spreading of misinformation is detrimental to MMA.
He's saying it doesn't work when not applied correctly. He showed all the ways you can attack or counter off it, but you have to have more than just the guard itself. He also demonstrated a fighter who's able to use it. Maybe watch the whole thing first instead of just going off of the title. (To be fair, it is a bit of clickbait)
@@drinfernodds nah but he still said you can really only use it to frame and that’s just not true. You can stay on that stance, active fs, but you don’t have to return to a Muay Thai base. My immediate need to post a comment definitely ain’t all due in part to this guy alone, but I’ve seen that community try and dispel TOO many techniques, the wrong way. There’s no reason to believe things don’t work just because you can’t do them coming from a pure Muay Thai style. 🤙
@@drinfernoddsNEVER has an actual long guard user even attempted the way he was trying to say was bad. I have no idea the purpose of the video, and you seem just as lost in this combat shit as him. What just happened when tawanchai went over and fought smoking joe nattawaut in a kickboxing fight?!?
Bro is always dropping good knowledge after all these years 💪🏽
Needed this, thank you

Nice to see my boy Luke getting a mention!
Jon jones uses it to maintain distance and for eye poking as well
Awesome you showed the Chef, he is one of my favorite fighters.
You move so clean
Luke's elbows looking devastating, respect to the guy that received them
My guy left and came back with a whole look. I'm with it
Jeff Chan uses it really well also.
Thanks Shane!
good tip, i sub
That was an insane fight!!! Joe is my new fav for sure
Man is a walkin weapon @ dis point
I was gonna pick "The Chef" as my MMA stage name 😢. Back to the drawing board 😭😭
Captain Levi might be more suitable for you.
But Luke Lessei is a muay thai fighter. You can still cook
Why it looks like a voice over?
Did you forgot to record your voice? 😂
"Looks" or sounds like? 😏
@@fighttipsSound quality is amazing, good video
i think hes got a mic on his hat
I think he means the talking is slightly out of sync with the mouth movements in the video
Shane, your one cool dude, keep up the awesome work.
Very good tips

Well idk what guard this guy just did in the video, ive never seen that in my life
❤ one of the best
Ty nice
Can you do something about the long guard for short(er) fighters? 🙏🙏
I'd like to learn the long guard from a Muay Thai perspective

That long arm should be thought of as jamming your opponent's offense; like sticking a rod in between gears. Not as a form of just blocking.
Somebody send this to Anthony Smith
Proof Lebron isn’t the goat
Yeah man he’s a human…
Buakaw also used long guard a lot
And always watch out to not be hit in an extended arm elbow.
Does it only work for tall people 💀
Shane sulek
Man the chef looks like he's gonna get cooked.
Just like the cross guard just diff range.
Shane, so when are you going to fight in Muay Thai? lol
😊
Nah bro you have to be 6'8 to use it
Jesus is the Way
Amen 🙏🏿
Jawn bowns jowns
CHEF!
These spots are so good
You guys cracked the code
More like a modified cross arm guard
Petr Yan
Jon jones
The long hair doesn't either
Cut your hair.
No girly hairdos on a man, period 😢
Not even if they could beat you up?
@@fighttipslmao goated
Don't be so insecure
Caring about how someone styles their hair sounds kind of feminine to me.
Great fight from @lukethechef
Buakaw is number one long guard user
You don’t know how to use it
Did you even watch the video? He just told you how to use it. 🤦🏾♂️
bro, we're not going t o watch this random fighter fight :p please don't toss in some cringe advertisements for random fighters we don't care for
Tell me you're a casual without telling me you're a casual 😅

@@drinfernodds watched the whole video clearly because I critiqued the way he was using the style. You his bf or sumn?!

Maybe watch more fights, Dieselnoi used his long guard to trap fighters in the clinch. Look in a mirror before you call someone else lost.
