    Wow! [shift]+[A] on selected notes with quantized nudge values is a great tip in Logic!

    Another way to set delays in logic is to split the region and select the one you want a delay on. Go to the top left corner under “Region” and there is a delay option there. You can set delays on individual regions within the same track

    • @DIDCHOI
      @DIDCHOI  2 года назад

      Oh, that’s right! Forgot about region delay. That would certainly be useful in many contexts!

    I'm a Cubase user who's had the art conductor stuff for years but never got around to using it... might get the updated version although at the end of the video you do mention quite a number of disadvantages... Btw, do you use a Komplete controller? Curious to know what happens to the lights assigned to the keyswitches when using the expression maps / articulation sets. Do they still light in the correct place? Can you still use the keyswitching or does assigning the map cancel out keyswitching (while leaving the keys lit as red/green/etc)?

    • @DIDCHOI
      @DIDCHOI  3 года назад +1

      I only have the M32 Komplete controller so I can't comment about the lights unfortunately. I believe Cubase's expression map system is a lot more superior to Logic's so I think you'll enjoy it. I think Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL both use Expression maps in Cubase.

      @@DIDCHOI Unfortunately marc at BabylonWaves is super rude so getting any assistance from him is really hard. Massive language barrier and he doesn't like to be bothered. I would NOT recommend the product from him. Its a great idea but he doesn't care about making things clearer.

    Great Videos!
    Is it possible to add libraries to the articulations which Babylon provides if they do not offer a library... like, is there an included tool for translating new library mappings?

    • @DIDCHOI
      @DIDCHOI  3 года назад

      I don’t think there’s a tool, but if you just study some of the conventions it’s pretty easy to make a new set for a library. You could even use an existing template and just change the key switch/CC mappings to fit said library

    this is great please make more videos. Presently I can't work out how you go about installing the snapshots in 7.0 Art conductor as it's not clear. Can you help with this and give a bit more clarity?

    Great video! Thank you! Let me start by saying, that you're the 3rd person I'm consulting for advise on the following. And obviously, I've had no luck but just a bunch of frustration. I bought Babylonwaves Art Conductor for Logic about a month ago. It was recommended to me. So I bought it. I'm not really advanced in computer literacy. However, I know the basic fundamentals on how to operate a computer. In addition, I've been working with Sibelius music notation software for about 9 years now, so I'm not completely lost lol. However, my real question is, now that I've bought Art Conductor, how do I set it up? Like, literally, what are the specific steps I need to do to set it up and make sure that it works? I feel like a hamster in a spinning wheel that finds no outlet lol.. So I have Logic Pro as my DAW and I have the free version of Kontakt which is Kontakt Player. Would you be so kind to help me in this journey to help me set up Art Conductor? I would appreciate it so much!! Best regards.

      The detailed instructions should be in the download, but off the top of my head, you essentially take the "Art Conductor Logic" folder and move it into your Music->Audio Music Apps->Articulation Settings folder.
      Once that is set, start/restart Logic. Open the inspector tab, look under "track" and at the bottom you will find "Articulation ID" and in there you will find that "Art Conductor Logic" folder. In there are all the relevant sets you can choose from for your libraries. Hope that helps. let me know if you have any follow up questions :) Thanks for watching! Subscribe if you haven't already ;)

    FYI Do not buy Babylon waves conductor if you are using the VSL SE series with the Vienna Ensemble Pro player. The articulation maps don't correspond to the actual sample patches. For example, If you select trill, it comes out as Pizz. If you select fp, it's trill. etc. wish I hadn't.

      They do seem to update fairly regularly so make sure you installed the latest version.
      Otherwise, that sucks and hope they fix it soon.
      I’ve also found some inconsistencies in the sets, but I can easily tweak as I show in the video.
      The advantage is that everything is organized within their system so it’s consistent

    I hope that you also do another video explaining the multi patches in OT. I just purchased Berlin WW and Art Conductor and you loss me on that section of the video.

      I didn't want to give away Babylon Wave's method in too much detail as it is their hard work.
      But to clarify a little, essentially you need to have multiple multi's that cover all of the articulations (I think Flute 1 needs three, but most of the other ones needed just two), you set each instance to a seperate MIDI channel input.
      In the Articulation Sets menu, you make sets for each articulation, you can assign which MIDI channel it gets assigned to, and voila.
      The only issue is that if you use the keyswitch approach along with this method, you will be triggering two (or three for the flute) articulations. This is why they have a custom script to organize that.
      Hope that makes sense..Feel free to ask for more clarification!

    • @michaelrasbury

      I’ve been doing something like this with my Spitfire libraries. I will load all articulations of an instrument into one multi instance of Kontakt and put each articulation on a different midi channel. I will then use the articulation set to choose the appropriate articulation by selecting the midi channel I put the articulation on. The only catch is I also have to use the scripter MIDI plugin in Logic to run a script that forwards all cc data to the other midi channels. Otherwise, on playback only midi channel 1 receives any cc data.

      @@michaelrasbury Right! That's why the scripture was there, to seperate the automation data. But yeah @Jon Nelson that's the general idea

      I never got to getting in touch with the seller at all, but I’ve heard some unhappy people. If I ever have issues within the Babylon stuff, I just go in a fix it. Was easier to have the huge starting point and adjust as needed
