I think flip phones are all about making statements (away from normal) with a ting of nostalgia so i dont thing Xaiomi can hit the mark like how Motorola and Samsung did in this segment in 2000s
A suggestion here is to go for an extended one year warranty as flip phones have an issue with their hinge, etc. As a galaxy flip 4 Samsung user, I faced multiple issues and have to use it as a normal phone as I cannot flip it and the co does help or want to listen. Else flip phones are fun and do go for it.

As somebody who had used several mi/redmi/poco devices in the past and switched to samsung flip 5 last year. I can say nothing can beat the hardware quality of samsung. Mi phones hardly lasted 1 year and later they start to give out problems one by one like earpiece speaker blows out. Charging IC stops working. Or motherboard goes off. But samsung is a phone that will last you for 3-4 years in the long run. This is just my opinion but hey you may disagree with it

I've always supported Mi because even though they are corporation with profit as a priority but they still continue to make value for money products today( not all of their products are value for money but many of them are) my redmi note 8 is a prime example it is six years old now but it's still going strong and there are few problems here and there but my family still looks for me during events because of my phone's camera and my friends with 30 and 40k smartphone's say the same thing that my phone's camera is toe to toe with their phone and This is why I like Mi, in today's age where we need to wait for sale or for the model to get old to get a value for money deal, Mi and especially redmi series continue to provide good value for money products at a good price which only get better with sale and bank offers and I hope they continue to do so 👍🏻

If you type camera side up. You get full size keyboard.
You can type on the cover screen with a regular keyboard by rotating the phone 180 °
Razr 50 ultra is still king and the most practical 🤟🏻
the showoff part is fine, but the clapping(closing the flip) sound in public is kinda annoying. Yes it is something to consider if you are the kind of person considerate enough to turn-off keyboard sounds.
