Outstanding Doc. 80 years later and we're watching these guys going to work. I've got nothing but admiration for the the fire fighters of yesterday and today. Thanks to you all!
This is an EXCELLENT film! Glad you could post it! It's interesting to note that an FDNY Dispatcher appointed around 1969 used the SAME equipment used in that film at the Brooklyn C.O. from about 1969-1971! Not too much progress in 40+ years!
Thanks for this. My Grand Father, Phil McGovern was in communications and went on to become Chief of communications. He started out in Brooklyn where they lived (in Bed Stuy, where I now own a home.) When he became Chief he returned to Brooklyn and made Brooklyn Communications his headquarters. Thanks for bringing some of my family history to life.
Another big Thanks for sharing this, and I hope, other films like it. We are so fortunate when someone has the sense and ability to show our firefighting history. So much and so little have changed but it is all compelling!
