    Well, let's all hope a remake or remaster of Pac-Man World 2 is in the works.

    So Pac-Man World was the true Citizen Kane of video games all along!

    Dude, you've got no IDEA how refreshing it is to see Bamco finally getting out of their own way. Seeing Pac-man not being over-exposed by neon lights, and jumping around a more pastel/metallic coloured environment is glorious. Not to mention a solid Museum collection of maze games for the "Maze Only" fans, plus the Klonoa Remakes are a perfect way of bring that character and the stories he has to tell to a modern audience. Let's hope that Bamco realizes that we like these kind of things, and they find a balance between their Anime Tie-ins and Original Ideas.

    I don't like how this game tried to be more serious than the original, like how Toc Man was designed, or how instead of bloopers, the credits had a pop song. The original was great at being comedic and goofy.
    Also, what was with the babbling voices? Were they too cheap to hire actual voice actors?

    • @Kim-py3iv
      @Kim-py3iv 2 года назад

      It's a shame really. Don't get me wrong I do love this remake but I wish they had kept the voice acting and the bloopers bonus. Well, what can you do?

      @@dreye3215 they do, and I’m pretty sure they’re speaking Japanese (their native language), so of course to us it’s fucking weird, but also the English dub is different with the text and writes the ghosts more as confused and less stupid

    Man I'm so happy that this game exists, even with a few hiccups here and there, I'm REALLY hoping we get more like this be it more remakes or even something completely new

    I thought it was a damn good remake! I'm also very positive about the fact that a game of this caliber can get a really good update without having triple-A Spyro Reignited levels of budget.
    Choosing this more rounded and clean type of aesthetic was a smart choice as you can get very pretty results without spending too much in details. I know some OG fans are kinda iffy about it since the original has that raw and janky PS1 look, which is a vibe, but I stand by the fact that the new look is appropriate as it reflects the looks of current mainstream platformers in the same way World did back in the day... and also the fact that it's a look much more in line with Smash, which has been the most attention the World version of the character has gotten ever (and that will hopefully mean more sales and more $$$$ for future titles).
    My two biggest nitpicks are the new Galaxian fight, which is way too easy, but I know most people suck at shmups so I don't blame them for making it easier for casual audiences; and the new bounce attack delay, I know it's now this way to avoid making it disorienting for younger players and you can still cancel it after a few consecutive bounces, but IMO it makes messing around with the move less satisfying. Oh, and... the music thing too, tho I didn't pay it a lot of attention.
    Aside from that I loved the new revamped map. I love the new updated bosses, specially the Funhouse race which I want to believe is a Ridge Racer homage in disguise. The updated controls make certain parts a lot comfier... And the new ending I feel it's much more appropriate with the image of the character. In general I feel it did a great job at reestablishing Pac-Man World as one of the comfiest platforming series.
    Now time to update the TRUE MVP.

    Most might not agree, but my biggest problem with this remake personally is how my favorite level, Spin Dizzy, is a lot easier because of how momentum isn't much of a factor in the platforming anymore. I admit I hated that level the first time I played it, but when I found out that you're supposed to move in the direction that the platforms are spinning while on them, it quickly went from probably my most hated level to my favorite. This alone is honestly enough of a reason for me to say that I'd rather stick with the original, but then there's the music and some other things that certainly don't help. Sorry if my comment is a bit of a downer. I honestly wasn't sure about even making it, but I felt obligated since I said was looking forward to this game a couple months ago, and I'd be lying if I said wasn't kinda disappointed. I still liked the review, and a part of me is still happy this remake exists. And I hope everyone who plays it gets a lot of enjoyment out of it.

      It’s pretty common that I hear Re-Pac is held back from being more of a Zero Mission equivalent quintessential version despite coming really close. There’s a lot of little aspects where I think the original excels more in and vice versa. In fact one of my biggest gripes with the remake is Pac-Man’s shadow no longer being a dropshadow and a more realistically lit one, which makes platforming in certain levels more difficult than they should be.

      I honestly do agree that Spin Dizzy was overbalanced after seeing a RUclips video of the original version about it. I'm hopeful that Bandai-Namco will listen about the potential issue of overshooting.

    Why would you like the story board version more, it looks as if Pac Man is acting like a psychopath. Falsely comforting Orson as he eats him.

    In my opinion, i fucking loved this game, never played the original one but played World 2 in little snippets as a kid, my main problem with this is the music and the OG team not getting any credit. But outside of that, this is an incredible game and i really really hope they at least re-release World 2
