    I wanted a side by side until I priced them. I bought a Suzuki Samurai, installed a Toyota 22R-E, lifted it, bought new aluminum wheels and 35” mud terrains, a winch, built an exocage and bought a new soft top along with installing new rear gears. I have a very capable vehicle that I also drive on the street for around $12k

    • @StarGateSG7
      @StarGateSG7 Год назад

      @@phild9813 I have found ALL of the SxS pretty loud BUT you can get add-on mods and enclosures to quiet them down. In terms of pricing NEW Can-Am Defenders are around $16,000 and go on up from there to the $30,000+ range so the Polaris is on par with the Can-Am Defenders.
      The thing though, is that a 1990's-era B-series (i.e.B200) Mazda compact truck (i.e. which is a Mazda modded Ford Ranger!) is now only around $4500 used so I could mod it to high heaven with 4x4 parts and M/T tires and it would carry more and be more comfortable while still being able to go on the more narrow trails. And when Mazda OEM'ed the Ford Ranger, they added some extras that increased reliability and comfort so that is your best best for getting Can-Am Defender ability at a much cheaper price!
      Those Mazda compact trucks sure do run like tanks! They go and go like forever!

I'm sure there are people out there that will buy this, but I can't justify that money. I grew up on four-wheelers that could've been purchased new for $5,000 (at the high end). As many have said, I'd take an old Samurai or an XJ and stick about $10K into it and have it be just as capable, plus if you don't go too crazy with the mods, still have it be street legal - complete with A/C and heat! Plus I wouldn't need to listen to the drone of that engine. My goodness that is not something I could listen to for long periods of time. I want Polaris to succeed, especially since they're based out of my home state of MN, but $50K+ isn't it Polaris.

      @@joshc606it has power windows, hear, a/c, and now a front locker. It has all of the amenities, except for the screen. It also seats six.

    Why not just buy a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon? That’s what I would do hands down. It’s way more practical.

    They don’t give the price until the end because they want people to watch the video not laugh through the whole thing.

    The Polaris Xpedition is kinda cool, but way too plastic-y. I would never buy one. That said, I'm sure they will be a hit for some.

    After owning a brand new sportsman and ranger I would recommend to never buy anything polaris. They ride really smooth when they work but are unreliable and lack quality.

      What if you already have a 4x4 truck, or 2.. and you don't want 3. Instead, you want a vehicle that can take you farther, and it can also run 45 mph down a logging road into the woods with all your gear for weekend
