    Thanks for this! Are we able to code the interviews first then import the classification sheet?

    • @qdatraining
      @qdatraining  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you can import the classification sheet at any time with no implications for your coding. I hope this response is helpful,

      @@qdatraining Thank you! Are we able to conduct a crosstab query if we import our classification sheet after coding the interviews?

      Yes, you can import the classification sheet at any point. I hope this response is helpful,

    Thanks so much for this! Is there a way to add new classification attributes later on? I tried to do this and have the data "merge" based on the unique case number but it is just creating new cases with the same id.

      Hi Sue, yes, this is possible. Have a look at this video which includes the steps for extending an existing classification rather than making a new one: ruclips.net/video/hHASikZ1Ksw/видео.html. I hope this is helpful.

    Looking for a tutorial to help me post both qualitative and quantitative data from Excel. Your earlier video is not for Nvivo 12 so the application version is slightly different and slightly confusing. Thanks.

      Hi Pascalia, you;re looking at the wrong video. This one is for importing all closed questions (known as a classification sheet in NVivo). The link below is to a video that shows how to import Excel tables containing both: qdatraining.com/portfolio/using-the-excel-to-nvivo-import-wizard-nvivo-for-windows-version-11-12/ It is demonstrating on V11 but the wizard is identical. I hope this response is helpful, but do let me know if you have any questions or concerns

    How to link new imported file to one of our case classification???

    • @qdatraining
      @qdatraining  3 года назад

      It depends whether you wish to overwrite or append. There are options to replace or update in the importation wizard displayed above. If you send an email to support@qdatraining.com, I can explain in more depth than this forum allows. I hope this response is helpful. Kind regards, Ben

    Great video-- I am getting the following error message when I click Finish: "Missing classification name." Any ideas as to what I need to do to correct this?

    • @qdatraining
      @qdatraining  3 года назад +1

      Hi Kate; make sure the cell 'A1' has a name in it. That will become the name of the classification sheet. There are a couple of other potential causes. If you continue to get this error, ping me an email to: support@qdatraining.com

    It's not the quality of the video. I can barely hear you. There is nothing wrong with my device or the quality of the stream. I have the volume up to 100% and you are barely audible.

    The video needs to be edited with improved sound quality

      Hi Paula, thanks for comment. however, the video sound quality is perfect. There may be an an issue with your device or the quality of your stream, but the sound on this recording is tested and is crystal clear.

      @@qdatraining I think she's talking about the sound of the mouse clicks, and the sound of an alert that appears at some point.

    • @qdatraining
      @qdatraining  4 года назад

      @@ppival Thanks for your comment Paul. However, the mouse clicks are left in quite deliberately. This is to accentuate when something is clicked in the video. Some items in software screens can be quite small relative to the screen size, so the mouse clicks make it easier to clearly see when something is clicked. Could I also remind viewers that these videos are posted free to help people who cannot avail of formal paid training. Trainers freely give of their time and expertise. There is no commercial gain to QDATRAINING for posting these tutorials. If Paula's only comment regarding this tutorial is to complain that she is irritated by mouse clicks (seriously?) then I'm sure there are plenty of other channels she can visit that may be less annoying. She could try the developer's website as they only charge £175 GBP + VAT per hour for NVivo consultancy. I really think that when it comes to posting comments on free resources posted by volunteers, a little thought and perhaps some appreciation will go a lot further than a negative comment. Perhaps acknowledging the resource before complaining about it might help.
