Mmmmm just a wee bit concerned Re JuneBug. She has been in heat a number of times of times but seemingly no pregnancy? I sure hope I’m wrong. Of course it does solve the problem of the intense summer heat problem with the Highlands. Of course you may have chosen to not breed her.

Maximus immediately took a liking to the pretty girl with the long red hair. Who wouldn’t love June Bug.
June must have told Maximus, "Not in front of my boy. Wait 'til later". Definitely had some pecking order issues going on that day. Bunny told Maximus, "Dude, my eyes are up here." God bless.

The Longhorns are beautiful but I am partial to Junebug. Remembering her when she was so young at the other farm. Watching Adler feed them...Brings back alot of memories...She has a special place in my heart... Frank is a pretty boy too....Watching them pushing each other with those horns ..scary. 😮... Chad, back in 2000 I took my mare out to IL to be bred, she showed no signs she was ready & I planned on leaving her with the breeder for 3 month, both to make sure she was covered & also to ensure she was well into pregnancy (by ultrasound) so she could handle the 12 hours of trailering back to NY, without losing the foal. She was put in with the stallion & his herd & suddenly there was a loud crack! I thought for sure my mare had broken the stallions jaw! She hadn’t, thank God, but boy did she come into heat! She got covered within the first 48 hours & 11 months later produced a beautiful filly, who is now 23. Watching the hierarchy of the herds is amazing, no matter the animal. Your herd is beautiful & I pray you get many years of enjoyment as you watch the process and see your 40x40 dream be all it can be. Many blessings & prayers to all of your family & special prayers for your beautiful parents as they deal with their current health issues! I pray your dad had a successful procedure 7/20/24 & know God has everything under control for the future operation. ♥️🇺🇸♥️🙏♥️✝️👍

June wasn't exactly running away and Tipsy was taking him on! I found it so cute how all of your older cows knew that call, but the newer ones were probably saying "is that a danger alarm?" and THEN they saw chewing motions!! He said Allright, I get it, you're the boss, jeesh.
Frank is so cute. He's so tough most of the time, but right then he wanted Dad to scratch his head.
It's actually fun to watch them interact and see the different personalities develop.

I lived in perry Oklahoma back in the late 80s or early 90s lived there for a year as i worked for blackjack oilfeild service the bosses name way Coy Harmond and had a good friend that lived out there too and his name was Ray Richardson he was one of the guy's that had an office on the Top floor at Ditch Witch. I worked there as a dozer operator for a year and have to say that had to be one of the best years of my life nice people out there but work slowed down and i came back to Michigan to start my own company in Trucking.

Max sure was interested in Junebug. What the bull is doing is it a pecking order or Max choosing who to mate?
A bit of both. The smelling and rolling up of Maximus’s upper lip is a response to the secretions & the scents produced of/by the female, if she’s in heat (estrus) he will breed her. Once bred or the cycle has passed without breeding, it’s quiet on the home front until the next cycle happens. That is unless another female in the herd comes into heat.
I just finished a 2600 mile road trip, and along the way, I saw the word ‘MAXIMUS’ and instantly thought of that beautiful bull at Doss Farm!
