Richard Ashcroft and Liam Gallagher embarked on a week’s worth of North American concert dates together, starting in San Francisco. For this very short tour, the former lead singers for Oasis and The Verve will specifically play San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, New York (Central Park SummerStage) and Philadelphia.
Richard later came out to take pictures with the fans, which was very nice. One fan even got a funny picture with Ashcroft holding up his t-shirt which features a picture of Ashcroft wearing a t-shirt which features a picture of Ashcroft, which features a picture of Ashcroft wearing a t-shirt which features a picture of Ashcroft, lol. They also sold posters which had the same Droste effect or Ashcroft’s picture recursively appearing within itself. :P
Oakland native Steve Wyreman, joined Richard for the final 4 songs. Steve also has got a feature in Ashcroft’s new upcoming album this September. RA was scheduled to play in SF last year at the Mezzanine, but the show was cancelled due to illness. Everyone was excited to see him as well as LG.

Mr. Ashcroft is appreciated in his home country of the UK. However, in the US his material isn't played much radio stations here. I'll give you the perfect example. This song was released in 1997, however I didn't find out about it until 2004 when I saw the video for it on VH-1 late one night whilst working as a night auditor in a hotel. Now, with radio streaming being more common, I make a point of regularly streaming London, UK's Radio X so I can hear BritPop material here in the US. Except here, we refer to it as Alternative music. It's weird sometimes whilst streaming hearing a radio station that doesn't refer to itself by call letters W or K.
His set was so fucking awesome. This video deserves like a million views. Such an amazing version of this song.

I saw the Verve in 1997 at the Warfield. 21 years later, RA upped the game with his performance last night. This is what true musical talent is. So thankful I was able to experience it last night. thanks for the videos-great framing!

@@joshcowan3427 The songs wouldn't have sounded the same without The Verve backing him up. Nick McCabe's guitar work on that album is exceptional. This is kind of the reason Richard Ashcroft didn't become a worldwide sensation. He's a decent songwriter, but the reason none of his solo stuff has been mindblowing is because there was no Verve backing him up. Four or five (Tongy) heads are better than one.
I am an even BIGGER fan now i witnessed this amazing performance and gig.

This is the shot in the arm that I needed!!!! The acoustic version of most songs are almost always great and this is no exception. There's nothing like the stripped down acoustic version of a song. Richard is incredible. He looks better with his hair grown out and without the tired sunglasses. If The Verve would just get back together.....

I remember going to an acoustic evening with Richard at Uniion Chapel in London he was brilliant then as he is here in my favourite city, I was in SF last September. I would have booked up to see Richard for this great concert.

Gerald Gomez i don’t think so. Chords for this version are E, Esus4, Dsus2, Asus2. Repeated through hole song. I think the studio version has like a Bm in it...I don’t know, but it is different than this live version.
