They talk about pollution...I could drive my car for a hundred years and not make the pollution these fires are releasing into the ocean...
Devaststing fire, makes a hurricane look easy, this is never ending!
I replied on another post about going through a hurricane. Fires are horrific and unpredictable!!!I went through Hurricane Irma, then Ian that destroyed SWFl, then recently Helene and Milton. Hurricanes have a path. With the exception of Ian, we knew we could leave a few days ahead of time. Though, for Hurricane Helene in North Carolina, they didn’t know how bad it would be. There was one forecaster who predicted 20 plus inches of rain for that area of NC. No one believed him.
Sublime imagery.
They never had a song called imagery,, but they did have one where he goes. I think I’m just happy.
D.E.W targeted fires
How original
Give it a break will you.
This is amazing video coverage!
Did it burn the sand at the edge of the water ?
Controlled demolition.
It truly appears that way.
To see those little sparkies on the palm quickly spread to the brush pile. Then jump like 50 yards to the next brush and burn down the lifeguard towers. And the wind keeps pushing the fire like a blow torch all the way down the beach and lights the park building on fire. Now multiply that by 20,000 acres and doubling every, what, 6-8 hours?!?
I am of course so glad I moved from there 15 years ago now.. Feel sorry for those who stayed.. It will happen again....
I moved too & so glad. I'm grateful for my memories 70s-90s.
Why don’t they put out these fires??😮
What are you talking about? Ridiculous.
@@paulsmallriver6066: It's literally a completely normal question to ask. Even.the guy walking around, filming on his cellphone, could've put down his phone and thrown sand on the smaller fires, but no... that doesn't equal more views on his video, does it?
@@Charles_AnthonyABSURD😂, go put your own handful of sand on a burning structure and see how well it works
Building with wood is stupid. The building code must be changed.

Why don’t we fire the people that are supposed to prevent this at the top? Why don’t we do that because obviously they did not do something right with their big money job
His lifeguard watching house burn down. 😂
@@davidOConnor-z3lNo one can prevent it. It's nature.
Where do you start .with the hoses .it's crazy .and scary .for all all those residents ,no matter how wealthy they are ,they've lost their homes .could it have been avoided .possibly .
prime example of no defensible space that brush should never have been that close and these would not be on fire use metal roof and decking instead of wood
Well when the majority of people here decide to vote with logic and not emotions maybe we’ll see better outcomes. Until then we’ll just live with it year in and year out per usual.
Wouldn't matter with 90+ mile winds. Embers are gonna get scattered long distances. I'm quite familiar with this area. Many of these neighborhoods burning aren't even close to brush.
@@rexx9496: The point still stands. The Farm Bill set aside funds to clear brush years ago and the initial point of combustion was a dense area with what? Brush. There would be no embers if the brush had been cleared like it was supposed to be.
@@Charles_Anthony I'm curious do you live in this area or have you ever lived there? This is the Santa Monica mountains. The entire ecosystem is chaparral. There is no simple "clearing" it. These people are building homes in the middle of a tinderbox. If you build houses in the foothills of mountains covered in chaparral you will always be in danger of fires. That's a risk people take when living there.
@@rexx9496 : I've lived all over California and watched the beautiful hills of Irvine be cleared, graded and terraced. It really isn't that hard to clear the land. The Santa Monica area isn't that different from the hills surrounding Orange County.
Listen up folks there’s going to be many questions to answer. This level of destruction requires accountability

From a New York Times article last year.. After a series of downpours over the past week dumped up to nine inches of rain on the San Gabriel Mountains, some 8.4 billion gallons were impounded behind 14 large dams, easing floods and building up valuable stores of water for the drier summer months ahead. But in a state that is weathering a crippling, multiyear drought, much larger streams of water - estimated at tens of billions of gallons - have been rushing in recent days straight into the Pacific Ocean, a devastating conundrum for a state whose future depends on holding on to any drop it can!

so that was a very small patch of fire that with a little effort could have been tackled by a few passers by, im stunned that no one did anything but film it. amazing
I see where you're coming from, but let's not overlook the fact that the wind and smoke are continuously scattering embers all around them.
@@Natalie_TrueCrime I agree with you. but knocking down that very small fire at 2.20 mins would have been fairly simple, it may have made little to no difference in the end but it could have I have seen many many videos of these fires one I saw was in a small wheeled garbage can that was under eaves trough that could well have been easily moved possible saving that house but the people continued to film and the house went up. I used to do fire fighting many years ago and know that every small fire has the potential to be a big fire, the Palisades fire started with a single flame, now if someone had put out that flame no big fire.and as you say in those winds and dry material once it gets a hold there is not much you can do.everyone needs to do their part, but society seems to have become a its not my job society , I guess im just different. im very hands on and get the job done kind of person.
@@davebloggsI’ve watched hours and hours of footage of these fires and seen fire fighting for about 2 minutes. A lot of fire watching. I don’t get it either, spray some water on it jeez

My prayers to everyone there. So sad.
Ocean water sounds good in theory but there's one major problem. What happens to the water pressure When the tide goes down
You need to be more Pacific!
The tide doesn't create water pressure 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@davidcollin1436 and that's the point I was trying to make a lot of people are thinking maybe they can just pump the water out of the ocean they don't have enough tankers available to meet the fire Crews request for water
I hope Randy is ok
POWER LINES ARE BURNING
Apart from homes, the entire infrastructure- electricity, traffic lights, street lights-sustained extensive damage

Liberal Democratic California starts fires and then watch the destruction they caused newsome has got to go after this..this was intentional from sheer neglect and greed of the far LEFT
Prime real estate there, cant waitv to see investors take over and build high rises!
It far too often seems to take a frustratingly long time for firemen to actually try to put out fires. The truck arrives and then they just hang around, seemingly doing nothing.
One flying cinder becomes a random fire.....
That road is a hell of a firebreak. How does a fire jump across like this? Just hot embers randomly landing in places of opportunity? Seems unlikely...
Is daisy and the whole venice bunch ok ?
You know, those lifeguard stands are movable. Notice they are near the road. If needed they would be place on the beach.
Surprised to see so many American flags and no Chinese Flags.

And unless it happened at two in the morning, there’s no way anything is crossing safely through PCH at any time,,, where are the lifeguard personnel? Should they not be manning their towers in these emergency situations?,,, what about local residence and Police ? Why would anyone allow that structure to burn and not do anything at this point in time? It’s ridiculous. We do have plenty of fire extinguishers in the city
The beach is closed, it's winter, nobody is there, the water is 55°, lifeguards don't sleep in towers all night, the highway was closed.
Why on earth would lifeguards be "manning their towers?"

So when a tornado outbreak happens in the South and destroys churches, and schools and takes out entire communities, it's the same thing, right? Those are all red states and most people that use their brain would say they are worshiping a false God in the five-time draft-dodging coward orange turd.
So when a tornado destroys hundreds of homes, kills 20 people, takes out churches and schools in the south, it's the same thing, right? How about all the hurricanes that hit the southeast? The red states all worship a false idol in the orange Jesus so it's has to be the same.
