It's a great TV, i had 0 issues whatsoever. HDR is great. SDR is Incredible. Black levels are almost oled blacks. The local dimming algorithm is very well implemented. Audio is decent if you don't have a soundbar or a surround sound system. I highly recommend it for pretty much everything (gaming,movies,sports..) If you do end up buying it, I'd recommend you follow Rtings sdr calibration. It makes a huge difference.
@@nothingbutgaming1996 Thank you for the answer I appreciate it. have you tried low quality input such us a satellite receiver ? how well does the tv handle that kind of input ? something else, I've read that it doesn't do good with angle viewing .. do you need to be exactly in front of it to enjoy good quality ?
@@wass97 i haven't tried that unfortunately. But i do consume alot of sd content and the upscaling seems decent enough. I would say if you sit within 30° away from the centre of the TV, you should be getting the same picture quality. Anything above that and the image quality starts to deteriorate.
Do you recommend turning local dimming on for calibration? I've noticed on my TCL C845(HGIG enabled), when you turn on local dimming, the sun disappears on the 15th click for steps 1 and 2. But turned off, the sun disappears on the 13th click.
Before adjusting HDR on your PS5, you must apply the correct settings to your TV. So yes that includes turning local dimming on and setting it to high. Btw the C845 is capable of outputting 2000nits, so I'd recommend you forget about the sun, and click the up button 20 times for the first and second screen. That way you're telling your PS5 that your maximum peak brightness is 2000nits.
It's strange, i have a TCL C645 , i have the maximum brightness and the screen in game is still a little bit dark in my opinion. For example, in RE4 i put the settings brightness in game at max and it's still a little bit dark, it's playable but it's annoying. HDR or not it's the same issue. Never had that impression on my older tv.
C645 peak brightness is at around 450nits. While that's not enough for proper HDR, still if you play in a dark environment it should be okay. So maybe try to play in a near pitch black environment. That should help.
@@nothingbutgaming1996 I'm already playing in the blackest environment but the image doesn't shine as i would like. My old TV didn't have HDR, was 10 years old, no 4k resolution, nothing at all, but the brightness was never a problem so it's weird, I really don't understand.

Hello, I don’t know if you can help, but there’s an annoying issue and it’s happening only when I play my PS5, as I noticed so far. So basically, when the picture gets darker (for example when it’s night in the game) it also gets blurry. It almost looks the same as sharpness setting is applied at 0. I searched for a solution on many Reddit forums and haven’t found it. My tv is Tcl c645. Have you ever seen this issue?
Hey there, thanks for reaching out! What you're describing is normal for an LED TV like C645. Global dimming is not as effective as local dimming, and that's why the image quality is not great in dark scenes.
