Thanks for the run through! The display and settings are going to be half the fun. My PA Special is ready. I told the dealership they could put it in the display for a week, so people could see one up close. We’re in a kinda remote area of California, I think people should be able to see one in person because the Pan Americans look so good... in person.
Wow you are a super nice guy I am one of those instant gratification type people I had to have mine right now and yes you are going to love it I got mine on the 9th and yesterday I put a hundred miles on it
@grandtetonharley-davidson8690 how do you find the "load" screen? Where you set the 1 rider, 1 rider with luggage, 2 riders, 2 riders with luggage? No one can seem to find it although it's in the owners manual.
How do you connect a real GPS (eg. Garmin Zumo, not the wanting/lacking HD nav app) and mobile phone and head set so that you can use the Pan America handlebar audio controls?
Touratech (aftermarket company) has a zuno mount that puts the GPS above the radio. You can still connect your phone and headset to the bike but I don't believe there is a way to sync all 4. Either synced to the bike or the zumo if it has bluetooth capabilities.
1) Can I play music with my phone and headset connected without using the HD-App? 2) How do I download maps to the HD-App for direction when I am off the grid and no cell coverage? 3) Can I change what each of the widgets show and/or where the various widgets are located?
1) As far as I can see you can't. 2) You can download the maps to the HD app. Do it because I find the bike gets lost to easily. 3) Haven't tried moving them around yet.
Thank you for the Video. Question I just purchased a Pan American and the Dealership I purchased it from really did not know much about the bike at all. I purchased a Special. My question is how can you tell if the bike shipped with adaptive ride night adjustment
You should be able to feel the suspension drop when you come to a stop with adaptive ride height. Bikes with adaptive ride height also have a menu option in the infotainment that allow you to select "Auto", "Auto with Short Delay", "Auto with Long Delay" or "Lock at Ride Height" as it relates to the adaptive ride height. See page 49 in the US owner's manual.
Hello, I ride PA. Could you provide the guide how to connect the mobile phone GPS to the IM? I have already downloaded the H-D app on my phone. However, I don't understand how to get my phone gps to the IM. Hope you can assist and appreciate it so much!
After I toured on the Pan AM, I sold my RG. Not quite as comfortable as the Touring models but I can enjoy the twists when I get there with the Pan Am.
Nice walkthrough, thx for this. H-D has done a nice job on the IM apart from a few areas; ridiculously small text on some of the widgets (this seems to have been referenced in many reviews), and also a lack of information on the connectivity to coms systems like Sena and Cardo. Headset connectivity info would at least be useful as a starter :-) Forgot to mention that you can flip the screen to a white background, and stupid me forgot how I did it 😎 Wasn't really a gripe :-), thx again for the vid.
I have a Shoei jet with the adaptable Sena system. It's easy. Run through the GENERAL menu and add a helmet and pair it with the bike. The small size of the widgets are not a problem. It's all secondary info that you don't need to read all the time and the Trips are also available in the middle of the speedo.
@@44lespumas I'm inclined to agree on the widgets, it's more of an irritation of poor UXD. Thx for the tip on Shoie and Sena; so once you pair then you have all the controls for your headset including phone via the handlebar clusters? So I'm guessing you connected you phone by Bluetooth to the Sena unit and presumably the bike IM also?
@@adventuretoshare I'm not sure you have all the controls on the clusters. Early stages for me on this. But you can take calls on the Sena using the control cluster without touching the headset. Center button I think. Tip : if you have the sound up high for music and then receive a call, it will be too loud. So drop the volume on the call but when you get back to the music it will have kept the original volume in memory.
@@44lespumas thank you again for the reply. The actual problem I have is compatibility between the H-D IM and my Cardo Freecom, so I still connect my phone to both the Cardo headset and the IM. Although I have used the H-D route planner a little in the past, it can be quwerky, so it's likely I'll use Fever or Google Maps with the phone mounted on a RAM cradle and audio going direct to the Cardo. Luckily the Cardiac natural voice command is pretty awesome as long as I speak with a British accent. I did actually try pairing the IM to my Cardo as a headset, but it didn't like that. I still need to get the software flash to activate the USB-C port when riding, but all in all I'm getting there, I just won't use the handlebar cluster. It would have been nice to have that option b/c the H-D switch clusters are premium quality except for the lack of back lighting, and would be a good failsafe in the occasion voice commands just won't work b/c of too much wind noise, and fumbling with buttons on the Cardo is ok but not a great idea in poor road conditions. Thanks again, I love this scooter, and I should be more tollerent of details that will no doubt be a moving target in the next few iterations as H-D take on owner feedback. I honestly don't understand why all auto and bike manufacturers don't just install Android Auto and Apple Car Play, and leave the infotainment to vendors with a longer history in these systems 😎
I just wish the nav wasn't completely useless. Like, if it integrated with google maps it would be great. But the hd app is ju k. I love the bike however!
@@grandtetonharley-davidson8690 I know, but it doesn't charge a phone. At this time, it is for software updates only. When the bike is running it turns off.
Harley-Davidson is working on an update to the software. Per page 103 of the owner's manual, the USB-C port should have power when the motorcycle is running in the on position.
THANK YOU! You can find a thousand different Pan America videos, but NO ONE EVER SHOWS THE Infotainment System! So thank you! Thank you again!
You are so welcome!
This is great. Thanks for showing these features with a phone connected. Lots of people talk about it, but don't show it actually functioning.
How nice was that ! Thank you ! Other explanations have been so confused in diluted, yours is very clear and simple..

What’s happening with HD connect as HD sight only shows it for livewire
Do you think Harley is gonna put some speakers on the next version of the PANAm??
It's not common in the segment, so probably not. However, you never know!
@@grandtetonharley-davidson8690 ah man it would sure be great if they did. Make it fun while heading your tunes. Ha
Dear god, I hope not! LOL
Does the navigation have access to Guia or onX off road?
It doesn't currently have access to either of those.
How delete wrench signal talking about breake fluid
It has to be cleared by a Harley-Davidson dealership.
Will it work with any headset? I currently use a Cardo Pak Talk
Moto Nation USA made a video pairing it. So according to them yes it can pair.

It’s not possible to connect your phone’s GPS (Apple or Google) to the Infotainment System on the Pan America.
Test rode one today. Brilliant motorcycle. What do I do? I want one, but then I'd have to trade my Ultra, and the Ultra is perfect for touring....
