Even with a gundam suit Ida is still really fast (i would say around 55-65km/h), and he is not here for battle, it's quirk is not made for that, he is here because it's speed can be use to help to evacuate or save other, travel longdistance in short time maybe to catch citizen or a running villain that try to escape confrontation. The gain of an armour compensate the decrease of speed since he is already really fast. the only fight ability woth his speed is if he have the place to accelerate to hight speed and build a momentum, there's a metallic 80-120kg mech suit that run toward you at the speed of a ostrich (armour can be heavy maybe it depend of what is the material) if he bump into something or jump (he will jump on longer distance with this momentum) and kick a surface it will be devastating, and can break a brick wall, but to do that he need protection to not injure itself. second strategy is to be light and swift, a second skin like suit, really light, with helmet and minimal protection on the leg, chest and back, he will not be really well protected but could run faster and move easier (and not drown in a river with the weight of the armour) in both case Ida costume lack a cover of his weaknesse, overheating of the engine, a simple liquid nitrogen device on the leg could do the trick and allow better endurance when he use his quirk to 100%, and also to recover the ability to use his quirk faster after an overheating case. so optimal hero suit is, reezing device to help with overheating, light skin tight suit with minimal protection on body, head and maybe legs, and a giant robocop suit that can have to be as light/strong/resistant as possible and easy to put of (to switch from speed cavalry knight to swift supporting heroe who evacuate citizen and wounded heroes) Edit : he could also use rollers, that would be efficient, more than running actually
This is just like an eagle, even an eagle has to rip oot it's talons and beak once they grow weak but once it does so, it lives for many more years. The Iida family's passed down technique is just like, you have to keep upgrading your thrusting by actually removing them.

Funny when you think about it, that the metal he's ripping out is probably more impressive than his quirk. I mean for those mufflers to have grown in the first place, or regrow into something stronger, that metal must be some kind of organic metal alloy stuff like you would find in a Marvel comic.
Seeing Iida removing his mufflers to gain more incredible speed reminds me of Lee removing the weights from his legs to also gain more incredible speed. 🏃🏻♂️💨
The dedication and commitment that he has only match by that of Deku, for having the willingness to put his body on the line so he can grow stronger to save people. Honestly I would like this man as my big brother he's got what it takes
I know a little bit abt engineering(I’m into aerospace)I know a little bit abt engines, I think you can increase speed by stepping on the gas pedal. And I don’t see any of the Iida brothers’ gas pedals anywhere. Or even pedals. Just a couple dudes who happen to have cylindrical pieces of metal attached to them on random parts of their body
I read a comment from a similar video like this and it said that mutant type quirks back in the day weren't exactly what people liked, so their grandfather literally RIPPED out his mufflers and they just grew back, stronger than before. (Credits to the original commenter)
How to cheese this. Step one: inject painkillers into your legs. Step two: remove mufflers. Step three: remove mufflers Step four: wait for them to regrow Step five: repeat.
This is pretty much what happens when you go to the gym. You work out and tear your muscles and then you rest and they heal stronger than before. This just seems much more painful.
Theoretically, your quirk could work like that too. Based on the fact that Shoji regenerates his arms, Mineta regenerates his hair, Sero's tape never seems to run on a limit, Iida can regenerate his mufflers, and class 1-B's Pony Tsunitori can regenerate her horns, we can conclude that anyone with a mutation quirk has a form of healing factor that only focuses on their mutated body parts. But that's just a theory based on observation.
I saw where he helped fight against Pain, and he said his radiator was shot. So if his quirk is like a real engine would parts like a radiator be organic and would fix/heal with enough time? Also couldn't he upgrade or fix his engine legs in order to increase power and lessen fuel consumption?
I can already imagine how painful it will be for him when his engines adapt themselves for a better use they might be more difficult to remove in the future
Iida definitely has some dedication. I wonder.. if I pulled my tail out would a stronger one grow in its place? Of course, I'm too scared to answer that. Edit: Yeah so I've been reminded that my tail is connected to my spine.. Guess I didn't consider that first.
um no your tail quirk don't have the abilities to regenerate and regrow a new one ojiro, only few mutant-type quirks have a regeneration abilities like shoji's dupli-arm have that ability regenerate lost limb and Iida and his family have the abilities to regrow a new muffler on their body, your quirk: tail don't have the ability to regenerate or regrowing just like your friend Iida and shoji, other mutant-type quirks user from your classmate in 1-A tsuyu asui, toru hagakure and kyoka jiro those are one of your classmate have mutant-type quirks but they don't have the ability to regenerate and regrow a new one
even shuichi iguchi villain name: spinner one of the member of the league of villains and the only member have a mutant-type quirk among them his quirk call gecko: give him a reptilian appearances and he can cling on walls and other sheer surfaces like gecko does in real-life even when cling on fast-moving vehicle, well his quirk gecko don't have other abilities from a different species of them he only has the common gecko abilities to cling on walls and remain attached he doesn't have a regeneration or good healing factor ability and his quirk weakness is due to its environmental limitation, he doesn't have many opportunities to utilize his quirk outside of urban areas, where walls are plentiful
His quirk always weirded me the hell out. Just having a punch of metal pipes stuck into your calves. Also could he not just numb his legs? Like does he HAVE to pull them out himself???
it kind of depends on what solid tissue they rely on. i would compare it rather to pulling out teeth, than nails. nails tend to break while being pulled out, they're rather fragile.

That also mean that it's more of a mutation quirk or at least partially (you can have several quirk type such as Tokoyami that have dark shadow an emitter quirk, but is also obviously affected by a mutation quirk)
Ida have a emmiter quirk because he generate out of nothing a strong reaction that push him forward, and the reaction create fire, the metal is just a protection for it's body (most quirk require a body modification/mutation to work and that's why "borrowed/stealled" quirk don't work as well since the person don't have the quirk factor), the body create a reaction and a protection to not dammage itself while using it, that match with option 1

I just realize am like Midorya with his note right now, am over-analysing everything to understand how it work and the pro and con, use and disadvantage of this quirk.
so you can stop here, but i will continue with Ida hero costume design.
people say it's stupid because that is heavy and slow it down, I disagree
because protection is really important, like really, most heroes and those student goes into battle and in natural catastrophe withouth any protection (especially the head) they would be dead really easily if the world remember that gun and knife actually exist.
when designing a heroe costume you have two goal, cover weakness and enhance abilities.
The gain of an armour compensate the decrease of speed since he is already really fast.
the only fight ability woth his speed is if he have the place to accelerate to hight speed and build a momentum, there's a metallic 80-120kg mech suit that run toward you at the speed of a ostrich (armour can be heavy maybe it depend of what is the material)
if he bump into something or jump (he will jump on longer distance with this momentum) and kick a surface it will be devastating, and can break a brick wall, but to do that he need protection to not injure itself.
second strategy is to be light and swift, a second skin like suit, really light, with helmet and minimal protection on the leg, chest and back, he will not be really well protected but could run faster and move easier (and not drown in a river with the weight of the armour)
in both case Ida costume lack a cover of his weaknesse, overheating of the engine, a simple liquid nitrogen device on the leg could do the trick and allow better endurance when he use his quirk to 100%, and also to recover the ability to use his quirk faster after an overheating case.
so optimal hero suit is, reezing device to help with overheating, light skin tight suit with minimal protection on body, head and maybe legs, and a giant robocop suit that can have to be as light/strong/resistant as possible and easy to put of (to switch from speed cavalry knight to swift supporting heroe who evacuate citizen and wounded heroes)

It no difference as baby teeth. Out with the old and come with the new.
Yup, except the teeth are huge and inside your calves 😂
Must be worth a lot, then 🤣

I wonder if the tooth fairy accept engine parts in My Hero Academia universe?
Nice, does that mean he can sell those metal tubes. infinite money glitch
How to cheese this.
Step one: inject painkillers into your legs.
Step two: remove mufflers.
Step three: remove mufflers
Step four: wait for them to regrow
Step five: repeat.
Bro straight pipped himself 😳🫣
I don't know how he did it, but it for sure gave him a level up. He is stronger now.
I'm literally on that part of the manga-
It's like ripping your toenail off just to let it regrow
bruh Iida deserves a hug that looks so damn painful :
Damn and he did that 12 times
0:01 out of context that’s hilarious
Look i know tenya as to do it just to become stronger but after he pulled that out i swear i got pure anxiety
The scariest thing is
The pain is like ripping off an actual limb
This is pretty much what happens when you go to the gym. You work out and tear your muscles and then you rest and they heal stronger than before. This just seems much more painful.
Well yeah instead of thinking that, imagine like you're pulling fingernails
Why don't they just ask the doctors to take it out?
Cause it's a secret family technique, no one has to know besides the Iida family
Tenya proceeds to remove it's mufflers on his legs
Meanwhile...
Eren:*proceeds to cut his leg and stab his left eye with a bullet*
Lmao so true tho 😂🤣
they both felt the need to move forward xD
Wow, ripping out your quirk which is basically a part of your body. Thank goodness my quirk doesn't do that.
I WANT TENYA IIDA HERE!! 😭😭😭
But that's just a theory based on observation.
lol
Jirou you'd have to cut your earlobes off to get rid of your quirk
stfu bulma solos your verse
This video has been taking up space in my recommended for the past 4 days
Imagine he ripped them out, they didn’t grow back, and his brother was just like “lol get pranked”
“It’s just a prank bro”
The prank:
Imagine been his quirk and have to fill up with fuel, oh man the amount of turbo he using every cent, kills me haha
I remember my calves muscles cramps, it hurts a lot😭
I have a feeling there was a legit medical way this could have been done, like with a doctor or nurse and some local anesthetic.
Eren before being Marley troops be like:
Bro's about to surpass Dekus speed
I remember first seeing this and my reaction: I- What the frick-
I was literally cringing and holding my leg while he pulled it out ffff-
I saw where he helped fight against Pain, and he said his radiator was shot. So if his quirk is like a real engine would parts like a radiator be organic and would fix/heal with enough time? Also couldn't he upgrade or fix his engine legs in order to increase power and lessen fuel consumption?
Anything is possible in anime
I think the only one crazy enough to try would be Mei Hatsume... And we all know how he feels about her
Eren be like: Just cut the leg off
Plot twist his brother lied he just want to see I'd iida would really do it
no
@@rougestarlight4308 it would be funny tho
I can already imagine how painful it will be for him when his engines adapt themselves for a better use they might be more difficult to remove in the future
Он оторвал свою часть тела ... Я завидую такому болевому порогу
Iida definitely has some dedication. I wonder.. if I pulled my tail out would a stronger one grow in its place? Of course, I'm too scared to answer that.
Edit: Yeah so I've been reminded that my tail is connected to my spine.. Guess I didn't consider that first.
um no your tail quirk don't have the abilities to regenerate and regrow a new one ojiro, only few mutant-type quirks have a regeneration abilities like
shoji's dupli-arm have that ability regenerate lost limb and Iida and his family have the abilities to regrow a new muffler on their body, your quirk: tail
don't have the ability to regenerate or regrowing just like your friend Iida and shoji, other mutant-type quirks user from your classmate in 1-A tsuyu asui, toru
hagakure and kyoka jiro those are one of your classmate have mutant-type quirks but they don't have the ability to regenerate and regrow a new one
even shuichi iguchi villain name: spinner one of the member of the league of villains and the only member have a mutant-type quirk
among them his quirk call gecko: give him a reptilian appearances and he can cling on walls and other sheer surfaces like gecko does in real-life even when cling on fast-moving
vehicle, well his quirk gecko don't have other abilities from a different species of them he only has the common gecko abilities to cling on walls and remain attached
he doesn't have a regeneration or good healing factor ability and his quirk weakness is due to its environmental limitation, he doesn't have many opportunities to
utilize his quirk outside of urban areas, where walls are plentiful
Your not a lizard, don't try!
All that for Bulma to solo
@@TrafalgarDLaw-wn3mx frrrr
It looks the seams to Aot when Eren cut his leg
I love how the brother is just like: "Good luck broda!"
Know pain
if i have to be honest, it was very traumatizing for me💀💀💀
His quirk always weirded me the hell out. Just having a punch of metal pipes stuck into your calves. Also could he not just numb his legs? Like does he HAVE to pull them out himself???
This must've hurt more for his brother. He had his mufflers on his elbows.
It’d humor me to say it wouldn’t hurt as much considering that it’s connected to his funny bone
So I assume it's as painful as maybe ripping a nail completely out? I don't know how painful the latter is but I know it's not painless
i mean, nail pulling is a form of torture right? so, yeah. severe pain
it kind of depends on what solid tissue they rely on.
i would compare it rather to pulling out teeth, than nails. nails tend to break while being pulled out, they're rather fragile.
OK BUT WHY’D HE DO IT ALONE, IN A *FOREST* WITH NO ACTUAL MEDICAL EQUIPMENT??
Ouch
i’m sorry but Tanya’s brother saying “yeah” just sends me lmao idk why i just find it funny 😂😂
imagine his brother was lying and lida did that for nothing
What if skin grew over the hole and the thruster has to pierce through, I think this only would've happened the first time he ripped them out though
🤮🤮🤮 BRUH
Whenever he rips them out he grows new , better ones
How do you think his grandfather found out that ripping out his engines would result in that
he didn't rip out his quirk, he just buffed his quirk
Eren: "Just *part* of your leg? Pffft, WEAK!"
_Jams bullet in eye, screaming_
