JorgePinto here. First of all, I must admit I came across the video by chance and went in by curiosity, and did not expect not only the great insight into the topic, including the research and the work involved in making the video itself. All well documented and with great lessons, especially in the end. I'm really grateful you dedicated a part on my retirement, I did notice the Defender on the thumbnail, so I was expecting maybe a quick reference, but not definitely this, so thank you (and everyone supportive of course) for spreading the word, not only for me of course, but for anyone who is in my situation one way or the other, and according to the comments, I'm definitely far from being alone, which is something good and bad at the same time when you consider it, and depending how you see it... I can only speak for myself of course, since different modders have different approaches to mods, some of them just do it for the great time, some do it as a legit source of income which translates to even better standards of quality (LucasBE is the golden standard on this) and some well...just for the money, at all costs. I did spend some time researching some of these, over 7€ each from a certain modder, and sadly is a common theme, looks good on the thumbnail, but it starts to fall apart the moment you start looking at certain things or just drive it, the effort is to make them look good, that's it. Sadly, many people fell (and still fall) from scammers like this, and just a tiny handful of people deserve trust on paid mods, being LJ74 yet another of them for example, people who make dev-quality content from (almost) scratch, and only ask for 3 or 4 € at most, the quality-price ratio is insane, not even worth comparing to the overpriced broken mods by any means, so please everyone, be sure you know what are you paying for, ask, search and compare first, I also did some maths and the amount of money some of these guys get is truly sickening, due to the high price and empty promises (sometimes they even advert them as having no flaws found...yeah, no) In a final note, I just wanted to give a quick update on me, if I may, I'm still struggling a bit, but as I wrote on my message and Bio narrated too on the video, it's not just one thing, the commitment is big and at one point you might not be able to handle it. I focused on the friendly people, the ones who enjoyed, appreciated and even helped with the mods, since beggars are also a sad reality on the scene (every mod on the official forums, and I mean EVERY MOD) is filled with newcomers asking or even demanding stuff, giving what's already there for granted and wanting more, and for people like Lucas, just imagine the harshness he gets (not even a fraction of the hate he gets is shown here...) since being paid mods well, to be honest does gives you a certain commitment with your buyers, but of course, that doesn't mean you are a slave as well, and some people go straight for that approach...anyway, back to my point, that's also part of why I never did paid things, since many people helped out in really meaningful ways, over weeks or even months, and would be unfair. And let's not forget the elephant in the room, all of my main mods were technically 'meshslaps' since their 3D models comes from popular games, a lot of work was put into them of course, with proper (up to a certain point at least) functioning in-game, handling, crashing, and many extra parts and details made by me, but trying to earn money from a main work not done by you, a licensed work and, even worse, for a licensed game by a licensed brand is not only wrong, but also asking for legal trouble. And that's the other side of the coin for me, on top of all this, as I also explained, how can I try to make a living on this (picturing for a second I could do mods of my own entirely, including the base 3D model of course) when I can't even do it for me? I started modding well, for myself, I explained in the Defender mod I did it because no one did before, I fancied driving it, and thought people could maybe enjoy it too. People did, people again helped a lot (none of my mods would be even 50% of what they are without the community's help) and everyone was happy, but when you do something you like, for yourself, and reach a point you simply feel it as labour rather than a hobby...I can only think how awful would be depending on modding to sustain my life, the commitment would be enormous, and the burnout, immeasurable. Not worth it. I would really love to keep going but when it's not the same, no matter the approach, it's not going to change. Hopefully one day things might change, but the support needed to older mods will still be there (and this is something it still stresses me, I can't keep supporting them, but I hate seeing them frozen in time, and every time the game updates something will break until they are unplayable, which means all the work done eventually will be meaningless) and of course, the game will not only update, but also evolve, and things will get more technical and complex, I was already having a hard time with some of the latest features (the 205 has opening doors, but they don't work as intended for example) and some of my older mods, such as the Jurassic Park Roamer had to be remastered entirely since it was quicker and safer to start over rather than trying to update the old ways) so...not really happy with either way really. Since this comment already got out of hands too (I have to laugh at that) in case anyone went into the trouble of reading this big brick, thanks for your time, enjoy the game, enjoy the mods, be careful with the mods you get, and remember the work involved behind, even for the smaller and at first sight simpler mods, the intention of sharing something done with passion is always there in any case (at least for honest people) and that's all that matters.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the video, I am also glad for you putting in the time to write this comment out. I'm Happy as well that I was able to put this together in a way that is representative of the community. And yeah modding is a really really big deal for this game, like you are saying the amount of work that goes into it is quite insane. I am really grateful for those who put their heart out to release mods, I wish there wasn't people who took advantage by selling questionable mods when there is people who put out better ones for free. I'm actually thinking about doing a video about a mod that has been WIP for about 10 years I think, BeamNG modding is no joke.
I dont pay for mods at all i prefer to donate that money to the plentiful amounts of talented free modders if people want other people to pay for mods then thats alright in my opinion theres a market out there for everything allbeit a very very niche market If people cannot justify the cost of paying for a paid mod so instead decides to sail the great seas and pirates a mod then the feelings mutual people its not that big of a deal
I would be perfectly fine spending upwards of $5-10 on a good mod that someone put time into what I don’t like is when they expect you to pay the price of the game for one or two mods. Or when those $5-$10 mods are complete trash but it’s not apparent from the mod page
As someone who often spends months on a single BeamNG RUclips short film, I really value quality over quantity, and good work deserves good pay. I am happy to pay for a good mod, and I am happy to see LucasBE's hard work pays off - as it should! He deserves it, as does anyone else who creates something of high quality! Because your craft is worth something. Always. I personally envy modders for their skills but not their job. BeamNG really isn't the easiest game to mod. It's true art work and in part rocket science, and they have my mad respect. As do you, because I really liked your video. I watched it completely. Thank you :)
Amazing video, pretty well explained! Also, to be fair the entirety of the BeamNG community has some ups but very very deep downs, which is why modding becomes a bit of a toxic environment as a whole, now with paid mods that'll probably change for the worse.
great video, this made me realized how big beamng has become, the amount of mods, the amount of people playing it and the amount of content about it, theres like 3 or 4 youtubers that ive watched do beamng content since they started and they all have become huge and are still gaining thousands of subs on the daily, trust me, ur gonna reach 10k subs in no time
Being a BeamNG "modder" myself, I understand how people like JorgePinto feel about it & the burnout or depression associated with it. When I started my Brutus B1 mod 6 years ago, I definitely thought that I could get it done in a few months even if I had no real modding experience as I thought 'how hard could it be' as back then I didn't really know anything about modding for the game & didn't even realise how much actual time you need to spend to create configs for it, nevermind creating a good mod & support for it afterward so people can enjoy it as long as it can be enjoyed. The problem for me in particular is that just a little before I started creating the B1, I had no prior modding experience for any game but also my physical & mental health started taking a downturn swing due to a rare bone disease which has also affected my brain from which I have still not recovered, 6 years later. Trying to learn how to create models. textures & jbeam all by yourself while your mental health keeps on getting worse is definitely not something I wanted to experience when creating the mod, but I still persevered as I felt that if I don't release the B1 after already showing some minor amount of progress on the forum, I would disappoint a lot of people that were (& still are) excited to see it released. This is what kept my motivation up to finish the mod & definitely has helped me prolong my enjoyment of learning how to create models as well as textures with jbeaming being relegated to someone else. Since I didn't know anything about modding, the B1 was also like a learning project as that's what I used to learn Blender & everything associated with it; as of may this year, which was the last time I touched Blender, the B1 project file has about 2100 hours in it with me remaking the vehicle body itself about 10 times as I am not satisfied with it everytime I see it because I want the B1 to be the very best it can be. With my mental health still steadily getting worse, just like JorgePinto's, I don't know when I will return to finish the mod, but it recently has seen some development on the jbeam front of things from the other person that I am working with on it which does make me somewhat hopeful that it will be finally released before it turns 10 years old (lol). One of the reasons that I noticed as to why a bunch of people in the BeamNG modding community give up or get depressed is that modding for this game is a daunting task & they have to rely on either themselves or a few of the bigger people in the community to learn how to create anything for the game yet only a few people of those few people actually want to teach someone in private knowing how hard it is & how easily you can get discouraged... so why spend the time? It definitely does not contribute anything good to the community trying to learn, but I understand it fully; I was trying to learn how to create a map for BeamNG some time ago as I wanted to bring a real-life offroading place into the game but from asking a few experienced people, only one really took me up on it as he knew my name from the B1 mod. Sorry for the minor rant at the end but I want to see the situation with modding for BeamNG improve, especially in the lack of basic guides on the forum even for small mods e.g. creating time trials as that's one of the things that I do not see being spoken about in videos or elsewhere despite it also being an issue. Whenever I start thinking of those crappy meshslaps which scammers sell for higher prices than high quality things like LucasBE's mods, it does really put a sour taste in my mouth & sometimes makes me want to not finish my own mod, altough at the same time I am surprised that no one has created any other lore-friendly Hummer as of yet. I hope people like LucasBE, AgentY, LJ74 etc. will succeed in being one of the best modders in BeamNG & I wish them all the best
Wow! Your insight into the world of BeamNG modding, especially your personal experiences with the Brutus B1, is both inspiring and sobering. The dedication you've shown, despite the physical and mental obstacles, is really special, and yur hard work and perseverance are commendable! Wishing you strength and success 🙂
I feel you should talk about the Assetto modding community as well. I'd argue it's a bit worse since it's harder to avoid low-quality mods (there's not really any central mod repos like Beam.ng), and some players will heavily frown upon you for using "bad mods." Not to mention there's been a few bad actors who've copied other people's mods, and this has lead to some people leaving the scene. It's all a steaming hot mess, and I really feel someone should talk about it.
Yea, I bought both the scout and picnic, they both are dev quality and worth it having only a few issues. I honestly find it degrading that kids on the forums are rude to you over the fact that they can't afford paid mods or that you make paid mods and instead of leaving the thread alone because they don't like they are paid and dev quality. I've seen the amount of hate you get and it's sad. Love your mods Lucas!
@@s1lly_lighting Even the base game cars have their issues which usually get resolved in Patch-Updates. It's no different with the mods modders make, they make a mod and it has some bugs or issues, so they make an update to fix said issues. I like using the term Freelance-Devs for Modders, I know many modders also make mods for other games as well. The only time I have an issue with paid mods, is when those mods are Meshslaps with crappy JBeams, low quality texters, and little effort put into them but are being charged at like $10.00 or more in some cases. Another thing I don't support is a mod that has Base Game parts that are just slapped onto other vehicles and is being charged at $5.00.
A really great tip to help the GOOD paid modders is by showing few clips of the vehicle of said modder testing it which is 4 parts:Jbeam/testing the physics of said vehicle, engine sound, quality, and lastly but not least:showing ACTUAL features that the said modder is capable of making.... Also if someone tried to steal that video, then put a few watermark and other stuff that makes re-edit them ALOT harder for the bad ones! Edit:or/and also release ATLEAST 1-2 cars for said customer to try out and confirm if they want to buy a subscription related stuff as that WILL help the good ones HEAVILY as that means no one can really try to steal said content of your creations, and if they do... Well you know what.....
I only made 2 full fledged mod (not automation mod, but not entirely new vehicle either): Pigeon Performance and Miramar Performance. This video is spot on, I'm working on pigeon performance mod update since keitruck craze is there (as usual, may or may not rlz but let's hope). My mod has kei van, kei suv, and soon it'll have double cabin (van with rear cut off). The challenge of bmg mods is jbeaming right. 3d modelling kind of reworkable to some extent (even if it's jank, example is the dashboard of pigeon performance has awkward 3d uv mapping). Even with my current state of pigeon performance mod, the deformation is downright hilarious.
One thing curious of the potato car of 2013 was the fact that it wasn't originally a BeamNG mod, it actually started life as a GTA IV mod back even further.
I recently discovered (and subsequently became addicted to) BeamNG, and I'm super impressed by the creativity and skill in the BeamNG modding community. Truly amazing stuff!
paid mods are the worst thing to ever happen to modding in any game. i would rather buy the Beamng again every year than pay some modders for just one car
I encountered the same paid mod issues in Assetto Corsa. There are several modders of professional level that deserve their mod to be bought, but also several scummy groups that make low quality or even stolen mod and put a price on them. But that 500$ car would be insane at any rate of quality. The most expensive mods I ever seen comes from flight simulators, where a single aircraft can easily cost 50+ $. But there I know Im buying a plane that is basically 100% accurate to real life, developed by engineers that work in the aeronautic fields. 500$ for a dubious car mod is, at best, a scam.
Amazing flow and video quality here! I only habe repository mods so these kind of issues are new to me. Still interesting, I will take a look on those top mods you mentioned even if they cost a bit. Easy to justify looking at the effort went into creating them
Oh early beamng mods, i still remember my amazement when the Auriga Heron had a cooling system that could overheat and break the engine! And i think even custom sounds instead of the default v8 noises, must've been ages ago haha
I appreciate Beam NG a lot - its the best driving game I've ever had. The only thing I'm really missing are some curvy roads like the Stelvio pass, the Furka pass, or the tail of the dragon (or others). Is here any modder who is able to create some great driving experiences from surface scans? 🤔
It can be the first time to describe the current BeamNG modding community, as a view of someone who have experienced this enviroment for a lot of years. As a modder in BeamNG, concluding the future of modding is impossible: but Limiting on the Korean BeamNG Users, the community seems like doesn't show up for roadmap of modding currently. For those of you who want to make mods in that community, the prospects don't look so bright, given the unwillingness to even answer the question of how to make one and how to get started. Of course, this game was known quite late in my country. In addition, as a problem involving myself, it can be difficult to understand the script called Jbeam, which is a script provided in the game, and to implement the method of expressing the damage effect of the actual vehicle as it is. However, it is not clear what to overcome these problems. If you ask those who already make mods about how to make mods, the answer is: "For Luck. No more talk right now." I'm more concerned about this because I'll be taking college classes soon, and modding and maintaining my work can no longer be possible.
Paid mods are fine as long as it's 100% your own original content. Taking a model from elsewhere (like ripping models from Need for Speed) and putting a Jbeam rig over it (no matter the quality), or a real-world car or even knockoff real-world car in the style of GTA and then charging money for it is totally unacceptable. These things are fine as long as they're not behind any sort of paywall, but the second you start charging real money for a model you didn't make, or a car/brand you don't own or knocking off a design of a real world car and changing the name and badge, it becomes not only morally unethical, but outright illegal as well. BeamNG is worse about this than any other game I've ever seen with the sole exception of Roblox. Paid mods need to be 3 things 1: Worth the money 2: Completely original. Inspiration from other things is fine but knockoffs are not if you want to charge money for it 3: Fairly priced with permanent purchase options instead of subscription only models
a good point to bring up as well is that a lot of these low quality asset flips are models ripped from other car games like forza horizon for example. they do bare minimum work to get the model into beam, most of the time they dont bother making a new jbeam but just copy a jbeam from another stock beamNG car which leads to a total mess. ive been working on my first beamNG mod for about 5 months now and that's just been the modeling process (making a knockoff 1st gen mr2 since i have a real one to reference). the models for beam are way more detailed than any other car game, not necessarily in the triangle count but in the fact that you pretty much have to duplicate the original chassis in order to get accurate crash details. in my case i have my spare mr2 chassis torn down to the base shell and I'm using it as reference for my 3d model, in most other racing game models i would completely skip modeling the underside of the car but in beam I find myself assembling the model as if it was a real car. my issue is that with all the poor quality asset flips and me being new to the mod scene for beam that i would struggle to convince the beam ng community that it would be worth spending even a couple dollars on my mod due to there being no trust built up. i have been around for over a decade modding halo but being an unknown in car games i would be starting from scratch. it would be nice to actually make a dollar or two for all my work, for the first time ever (halo doesn't allow you to charge for mods due to the MS GCU rules), but i also don't want the community to feel like I'm only there for the money, im half tempted to make another free mod first using my fixed up e30 forza model i was working on a few years back for rfactor but that just adds more workload to get it up to speed for beam.
Good video, explained very well, burnout was one of the reasons i stopped modding beamng, i bought some paid mods and find them to be very high quality, i think of them as mini dlc, i always agree to these "mini dlc's", as long as they are fair and not a major scam... Those are my thoughts
people saying LucasBE does it "Just for the money" Lets just imagine for a minute that they do, so what, your not forced to buy the mod and if you do you still get a high quality mod from it so why should it matter?
The most infuriating thing is when you come across a spam insta or youtube channel posting car comparison videos in beam, clearly using bad mods that don't model the car accurately
I’m not a game def or a modder but can someone explain why almost every game mods break with updates? Why is this. You would think with updates new code is added to the game but the base game before the update shouldn’t change too much
I Get burnout i started trying to mod beamng one day when an old mod i liked was broken and i wanted to update it to modern beamng standards which led me down a addiction to coding and modeling i even started creating my own game eventually but have abandoned it as i dont have the motivation anymore. I created one public small ish beamng mod and then started a few more complex projects that i never fully finished or made public. I got burnt out what started as a fun hobby eventually turned into a chore for me i finally became aware one day that i wasnt enjoying it and was forcing myself to do things and so i just stopped all together. Coding and making mods for beamng takes a stupid amount of time. I had no job at that point so i spent all day every day coding and it still took me months to get anything done. its been awhile since ive done any coding ive kinda forgotten lots of my knowledge i had but occasionally i feel like i wanna continue one of my many unfinished beamng mods but i just dont have the motivation anymore and dont really get anything done lol. I find i want to do things in real life more now im not into video games or coding much anymore
To be fair, I didn't even know that there was paid mods. I kind of knew that there was other places to download mods. But I only went to the one to get the monster trucks. This could explain why I can't find the Dump truck one.
Paid mods sadly are also a risk for BeamMP servers; unless you have a whitelist of people that have paid for the mod, you will have everyone (including those that didn't pay for it) downloading the files anyways, meaning it is a no-go due to unrestricted piracy. If this, somehow, gets "fixed" in one way or another, I'll give paid mods a chance.
I definitely understand paid mods, especially when they're high quality. What I don't get is people spending loads of time on a mod, only to not release it at all, paid or free.
I remember when innocent was making the vertex, was friends with the lad who was helping er with deets of the real car (said real car has a recreation in the mod, i think it's called dream car, dream config? Something like that)
As the creator of the challenger and charger shown in this video, an unfortunate fate of people constantly reposting a 2 year old mod that was rushed. "Modders" are also known to resell leaked or stolen mods such as the charger for example.
Am I the only one wondering why is the liscence plate from the police car at the start of the video a german ( so europeean ) liscence palte ? ( German police cars definitly doesn't look like that xd)
Just found this video. I've been making BeamNG videos for a while now and only just starting to get into some nutty, difficult modding. I've been apart of this Community since around 2017-2018 and I will tell you the Community is already a horrible place. With some being extremely rude for bumping a thread by accident, some complaining about Pricing (Gavril Scout for example), being very unwelcoming to newer Members, starting drama over something small and just overall disrespect left right and center. Obvious this isn't everyone but there's a lot of these people and unfortunately even if you try to "deescalate" the situation it becomes more hostile. Sometimes I wish the Community was back to how it used to be in 2018-2019. I genuinely appreciate everyone's hard work when it comes to modding, but with modding comes hate and harassment. Some even go as far to threaten lives over no release of a mod. I feel the Community is a loss at this point.
Well all community have it moments toxic but if you enjoy the stuff you like to build and you put your passion into something you enjoy don't let that stop you from doing what you love
Another awesome modder is iretrox he has mods for the d-series that makes it into a lore friendly chevy and some actual badges and its a crazy customizable mod. The mod is called dfa pack
Before I started playing this game a little bit more serious and getting involved with the modding side I was actually very pleased with the $12 I sent to Royal. At the time I was looking for an R34 the practice driving around in day-to-day traffic scenarios before I took one for a spin irl. I was actually very pleased with that mod as well as a few others that he had. However with my new knowledge I now know that's sadly it is not necessarily the best quality mod. I do think the R34 is actually a decent motive his however other work of his like the countach is much to be desired. It really sucks because the models are deceivingly nice. Another thing I dislike was the driving on a lot of his cars. Particularly the s15 me being a drifter IRL I am not a stranger to the S chassis and how it should feel. However his s15 is damn near undriveable in almost any configuration with really weird handling.... While I'm not terribly offended it is sad because I do like to re-enact scenarios with it which makes it difficult when it handles uncontrollably and can't seem to hold a dirft. What upsets me is all he had to do was use the 240bx? Whatever the 240SX copy is in game and use that as a base. Ironically out of every car and mod I've messed with so far of a best one I've seen for drifting as been the polonez that thing is such a great mod and almost every aspect. Well at least I'm not as naive anymore.....
Yeah I will be completely honest, I use to use these websites as well. Not really knowing the difference between what it meant and whatnot, just wanting to have some mods to use and have fun with. But now that I understand the amount of dedication and hard work that goes into this kind of stuff I quit using them and realized what difference it made to start using the right sources for mods.
i dont understand people who hate on Lucas BE for asking money for his mods. I dont have that much money. I thought im gonna treat myself to the Gavril scout, since the 4 bucks it is, isnt that bad. I was absolutely amazed by the quality of th emod and had loads of fun with it.
@thegamereviewandreallifech1910 fair enough, you dont have to buy any of those mods, but i think 4 euros isnt unfair pricing for something that someone spent probably months of work on. Im not talking about shitty meshlaps ofcourse those things can rot in hell
I download from modland only when i need more "realistic" vehicles, but we all know that most of the free models has a lot of bugs... Paid mod.... Not all of us can do all this monthly stuff that some of them asking for, and even if i would be rich, i would prefer to try a mod and then donate for the hard work. Instead of paying 10-20 euros/dollars for something randomly...
the worry you spoke of at the end i have or had that and i cant recomend modland i used it like 8 months and got over 100 mods from it wich i dont have anymore now i serch on youtube discord the offical forum and the repo in beamng my computer still works and that worry i had to think a long time before getting the gavril scout because of that people who make low quality mods for high prices and i have respect for people like LucasBe or InocentJoker who make so good mods and the price that lucas wants for the scout is good but i like the scout and the vertex both are great but i have even bigger respect for InocentJoker for making the vertex free
Sadly, many people fell (and still fall) from scammers like this, and just a tiny handful of people deserve trust on paid mods, being LJ74 yet another of them for example, people who make dev-quality content from (almost) scratch, and only ask for 3 or 4 € at most, the quality-price ratio is insane, not even worth comparing to the overpriced broken mods by any means, so please everyone, be sure you know what are you paying for, ask, search and compare first, I also did some maths and the amount of money some of these guys get is truly sickening, due to the high price and empty promises (sometimes they even advert them as having no flaws found...yeah, no)
In a final note, I just wanted to give a quick update on me, if I may, I'm still struggling a bit, but as I wrote on my message and Bio narrated too on the video, it's not just one thing, the commitment is big and at one point you might not be able to handle it.
I'm actually thinking about doing a video about a mod that has been WIP for about 10 years I think, BeamNG modding is no joke.

this is an essay i would submit rs rs

Legend my friend
I don't hate paid mods. But man modders like Royal Renderings sure make it difficult to justify spending money on them.
I agree, Kenemation and a boatload of others do this as well
I dont pay for mods at all i prefer to donate that money to the plentiful amounts of talented free modders
if people want other people to pay for mods then thats alright in my opinion theres a market out there for everything allbeit a very very niche market
If people cannot justify the cost of paying for a paid mod so instead decides to sail the great seas and pirates a mod then the feelings mutual people its not that big of a deal
Eventually someone will leak most of those mods, so I'm not worried :)
@@UnkownPanameraLovermost of them are already leaked in telegram channels
Yeah I'm really hoping that it doesn't get too toxic. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
great video, this made me realized how big beamng has become, the amount of mods, the amount of people playing it and the amount of content about it, theres like 3 or 4 youtubers that ive watched do beamng content since they started and they all have become huge and are still gaining thousands of subs on the daily, trust me, ur gonna reach 10k subs in no time
Being a BeamNG "modder" myself, I understand how people like JorgePinto feel about it & the burnout or depression associated with it.
BURNOUT - PARADISE
I just want to know where to find these mods😭
I feel you should talk about the Assetto modding community as well. I'd argue it's a bit worse since it's harder to avoid low-quality mods (there's not really any central mod repos like Beam.ng), and some players will heavily frown upon you for using "bad mods." Not to mention there's been a few bad actors who've copied other people's mods, and this has lead to some people leaving the scene. It's all a steaming hot mess, and I really feel someone should talk about it.
Completely accurate and truthful vid. Loved it :)
THANK YOU LUCAS!! I love the BeamNG community and this is one of the reasons why!
Lucas i love your mods including your gavril scout and cherrier picnic they are top quality thank you for your effort into your mods
As a BeamNG modder myself, Burnout is a serious problem and it can lead to sloppy work flow and things can get bent out of shape really quick
What Are Your Mods?
The production quality on this video is insane. You deserve way more engagment. Keep it up!
Amazing video!! I recently became part of the modding community and its really fun!
Sorry about the background music getting low in some parts, I'm still learning how RUclips works and it loves to flatten out audio I've noticed.
I REFUSE to believe this channel doesnt even have 3k subs!
The work put in these videos is amazing
Dude these camera shots look like something out of a movie! You need way more than 2k subs
One thing curious of the potato car of 2013 was the fact that it wasn't originally a BeamNG mod, it actually started life as a GTA IV mod back even further.
I've been away for a month and I miss beamng so much, this makes me feel at home. Really great video keep it up.
I LOVE the opening scene!! ❤ I am glad that some people enjoy the Crown Victoria. :b
I recently discovered (and subsequently became addicted to) BeamNG, and I'm super impressed by the creativity and skill in the BeamNG modding community. Truly amazing stuff!
paid mods are the worst thing to ever happen to modding in any game. i would rather buy the Beamng again every year than pay some modders for just one car
facts, i hate seeing how accepted it is in beamng nowadays
“Waahhh wahhh pid mods bad1!1!1!”
1. Who said you have to buy them?
2. Explain how asking for money for something you put time and effort into is bad.
Subscribe for more or I'll meshlap your kitchen!
i will jbeam your toaster
I'll [no texture] all of your food
I’ll [no material] all your stuff and meshslap your face
Great job making this video, I stopped playing BeamNG recently but this video sparked the interest for me to start playing again. Thanks!
Easy to justify looking at the effort went into creating them
I love this video! It explains BeamNG modding very detailed but brief at the same time. Video quality is slowly but surely getting better!
i played surface scan maps like pikes peak and tail of the dragon on beammp servers. couldnt tell you their names though.
Stelvio pass is a map though?
Yes, Stelvio pass is a map, I found it recently! 🤩
14:45 pro tip: if youre lagging, and want some footage for your video, slow the game down when recording and speed it back up with your video editor
Sad thing is I thought of this right after deleting the cam path that took forever to set up.
I still remember the early days of Beamng mods, specially watching one of the Lamborghini Gallardo mods
This is why I just go to the repo mods and just make sure that they're not faulty with broken textures.
This was such a great video about mods! Good job :)
THANK YOU SPEALER!! I Should have included more map mods in this video!
@@BioBoyo You could do a seperate mod video specifically about them! I would love to see it :)
I loved the opening police chase sequence, could you make a version with just that?
No more talk right now."
I'm more concerned about this because I'll be taking college classes soon, and modding and maintaining my work can no longer be possible.
9:25 "a cost of about a cup of coffee"
bro where the hell do you buy coffee for 4 whole dollars 💀
Paid mods need to be 3 things
1: Worth the money
2: Completely original. Inspiration from other things is fine but knockoffs are not if you want to charge money for it
3: Fairly priced with permanent purchase options instead of subscription only models
$4 USD for a cup of coffee… What kinda coffee are you drinking? 😂
a good point to bring up as well is that a lot of these low quality asset flips are models ripped from other car games like forza horizon for example. they do bare minimum work to get the model into beam, most of the time they dont bother making a new jbeam but just copy a jbeam from another stock beamNG car which leads to a total mess. ive been working on my first beamNG mod for about 5 months now and that's just been the modeling process (making a knockoff 1st gen mr2 since i have a real one to reference). the models for beam are way more detailed than any other car game, not necessarily in the triangle count but in the fact that you pretty much have to duplicate the original chassis in order to get accurate crash details. in my case i have my spare mr2 chassis torn down to the base shell and I'm using it as reference for my 3d model, in most other racing game models i would completely skip modeling the underside of the car but in beam I find myself assembling the model as if it was a real car.
my issue is that with all the poor quality asset flips and me being new to the mod scene for beam that i would struggle to convince the beam ng community that it would be worth spending even a couple dollars on my mod due to there being no trust built up. i have been around for over a decade modding halo but being an unknown in car games i would be starting from scratch. it would be nice to actually make a dollar or two for all my work, for the first time ever (halo doesn't allow you to charge for mods due to the MS GCU rules), but i also don't want the community to feel like I'm only there for the money, im half tempted to make another free mod first using my fixed up e30 forza model i was working on a few years back for rfactor but that just adds more workload to get it up to speed for beam.
Great video dude, perfectly put and such a calming voice
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Good video, explained very well, burnout was one of the reasons i stopped modding beamng, i bought some paid mods and find them to be very high quality, i think of them as mini dlc, i always agree to these "mini dlc's", as long as they are fair and not a major scam... Those are my thoughts
Everybody knows that BeamNG modding peaked with Carfag. It was all downhill from there.
I might make a short video on that mod lmao
Take a shot everytime he says "the BeamNG Modding Community"
people saying LucasBE does it "Just for the money" Lets just imagine for a minute that they do, so what, your not forced to buy the mod and if you do you still get a high quality mod from it so why should it matter?
Since im new on BeamNG, whats the best website to download mod then ? Thanks
Here: www.beamng.com/resources/
Or in the game itself there is a mod downloader.
Good video. Well made. I really need to make another map sometime, but you know how it goes, life gets in the way.
Really great video men, i wanted to see this kind of content someday
also thank you for quoting my video ))
Glad you enjoyed it! (:
Wow! Amazing Video! I now feel like BUying The Gavril Scout.
Iam wondering, are the mods of LO productions any good? I am thinking of buying them since thier not that expensive, and i like volvo!
5:08 Yes, yes, I do like what i am seeing. *Instant Sub*
I definitely understand paid mods, especially when they're high quality. What I don't get is people spending loads of time on a mod, only to not release it at all, paid or free.
Some people like t o make things for themselves
0:01 bro is a furry, you just know the code is clean and there is no errors
vw scirocco chillin in the back (it has a backup cam too)
I love the opening police chase!
2 minute transition was insane
I remember when innocent was making the vertex, was friends with the lad who was helping er with deets of the real car (said real car has a recreation in the mod, i think it's called dream car, dream config? Something like that)
As the creator of the challenger and charger shown in this video, an unfortunate fate of people constantly reposting a 2 year old mod that was rushed. "Modders" are also known to resell leaked or stolen mods such as the charger for example.
I really do respect the effort that goes into modding cars into beamng and creating models and making them work. But i will never pay for mods
the dfa pack is the only paid mod worth anyone's money
just an FYI, mods that contain copyrightted assets (I.E: real brand logos) go against BeamNG's modding guidelines
That is only for repo mods, forum only releases can be as accurate as you can make it.
Well all community have it moments toxic but if you enjoy the stuff you like to build and you put your passion into something you enjoy don't let that stop you from doing what you love
seeing the patty wagon took me way back
The Maxie Crown Vic is so nice and awesome
Thankyou. 💙 I am glad you enjoy it!
@maxiethefoxxie Yeah prob the best mod I have used fun to pit friends in a vic!
I think you should make a part 2 if you want Love the Video
Thanks, soon I will have BeamNG, and I want to install a lot of mods (only free mods) so thanks for the help!
Finally someone makes a video exposing royalrenderings in detail
Another awesome modder is iretrox he has mods for the d-series that makes it into a lore friendly chevy and some actual badges and its a crazy customizable mod. The mod is called dfa pack
great video! thanks for SPending some time making it
Before I started playing this game a little bit more serious and getting involved with the modding side I was actually very pleased with the $12 I sent to Royal.
I'm the same, I don't mind his mods.
What variant has the backup camera?
It's called the infotainment screen and is a part you can add on in the customization menu, I'm not sure if it is attached to any particular variant.
@@BioBoyo I found one that is built in. It's the SUS
A lot of my BeamNG mods came from WOM and now I see why half of them didn't even work...
Sucks because the Fait One was my favourite
Yeah I will be completely honest, I use to use these websites as well. Not really knowing the difference between what it meant and whatnot, just wanting to have some mods to use and have fun with. But now that I understand the amount of dedication and hard work that goes into this kind of stuff I quit using them and realized what difference it made to start using the right sources for mods.
@@BioBoyo absolutely bro, a lot of my GTA San Andreas mods are also WOM Autoinstallers and now i know why my game is broken allways 😂

not sure if it is but i belive the first 2 mods to be added are all from rigs of rods
your voice is so relaxing, keep up the good work
Very informative video!! Keep it up dude!!👍👍
one of the best yt vids ive wached good work man
Absolutelly Amazing totally agree with you keep up the good work
That CIWS is actually a SeaRAM
why doesnt beamng add a steam workshop?
i dont understand people who hate on Lucas BE for asking money for his mods. I dont have that much money. I thought im gonna treat myself to the Gavril scout, since the 4 bucks it is, isnt that bad. I was absolutely amazed by the quality of th emod and had loads of fun with it.
@thegamereviewandreallifech1910 What
RIght?! i bought the scout and got the picnic as well at a discount
@thegamereviewandreallifech1910 fair enough, you dont have to buy any of those mods, but i think 4 euros isnt unfair pricing for something that someone spent probably months of work on.
Im not talking about shitty meshlaps ofcourse those things can rot in hell
its a shame i bought royal renderings subscription and forgot about it for a few months and it charged me like crazy for a low quality bad physics mod
he is the VSauce of beamng
The only paid mods I've found that are worth spending on are made by people like LucasBE
If i cant download the mod from within the game im not downloading it.
i remember using that caddy
Yo whats the map near the outro it looks sick
bro another banger I was just scrolling through and damn
Hey, great video, but I think that it would help to get a better mic.
i dont see docroswagge in the description
Thank you! I forgot about that, it should be there now.
the worry you spoke of at the end i have or had that and i cant recomend modland i used it like 8 months and got over 100 mods from it wich i dont have anymore now i serch on youtube discord the offical forum and the repo in beamng my computer still works and that worry i had to think a long time before getting the gavril scout because of that people who make low quality mods for high prices and i have respect for people like LucasBe or InocentJoker who make so good mods and the price that lucas wants for the scout is good but i like the scout and the vertex both are great but i have even bigger respect for InocentJoker for making the vertex free
If i'm paying 568 dollars for a mod I better be getting a god damn scale model in real life. I bet you could by that model jeep for less than 500 XD
wait spooling royal renderings and crown consepts are all the same
but its also the fact that there is always viruses in the mods guys avoid any website that isnt made by beamngdrive themselves
I have been downloading free mods from ModLand for well ober a year, and i didnt have any problems with the mods
Wait, did they fix the strato? Last I checked it was busted without any fix coming for the forseeable future
Latest fix works on my end! I put the link in the description if you want to give it a shot.
