Picked my Model 3 Highland from last Thursday. I conducted several exterior inspections, but my attention was diverted due to the presence of my children, who were engaged in play within the facility. I was unaware that the driver’s sun visor was malfunctioning until today. Therefore, I strongly advise you to thoroughly inspect the vehicle before departing.
Could you make this checklist a PDF that we can print out? I would love to give this to friends and family

Don't forget, if you have the 7 seat option, check to make sure the pleather is not coming apart. I know this from Experience!
Remember that if you buy in a state like Texas where Tesla can't have dealerships you have to have enough money to pay the tax and registration when you get your tags because it won't be rolled into your loan. Tesla will send you the paperwork with forms already filled out except for a few fields so it's quick an easy at the country tax office. In my case it was about $3,300 and they handed me the tags right there. Just plan in advance because that's a lot of money to come up with if you are not expecting it.
I had to pay all taxes - local, state, plus fees, and other small costs that amounted to about $5,500+ over the price Tesla shows when you build your vehicle. So, while I have a few days yet, in Texas, too - I have had one hangup - that in getting Tesla Insurance - I had no true problem getting it - however - they (someone at the Delivery Station {Dealership}) seem miffed in that my policy seems to begin the day of delivery - whereas they wish for it to begin days before I take actually delivery... My impression is that Tesla wants me to have my new Tesla already insured 3 or more days before delivery so that the car is covered during shipping - or at least the last few days of shipping to reach the delivery station. Kind'a odd, but, Tesla says - this is part of the rig-more-row of selling Teslas in Texas... Maybe - wish me luck.

Just took delivery yesterday of a 3 LR (yay tax cred!). Wish I could have seen this video yesterday, but I watched some other check lists and the car looked great!
First time getting a Tesla so it was an interesting experience - very hands off from any Tesla staff. The app is the boss 😂. Smooth process overall, and even smoother driving experience now!

what accessories come with the car for Model Y delivery in Uk now? I heard that it won’t come with mobile connector, how about emergency kit? front flap? floor mat? would be great to cover these in the video too

One thing I never hear anybody mention is what happened to me… When I picked up my 2022 model Y it was plugged into the supercharger at the delivery center when I clicked accept delivery on my phone. It sat on the charger for another minute or two then I unplugged and drove away. Two days later I received the notification that I was being charged for the session… The whole session… It wasn’t a big deal it was seven dollars but it didn’t really feel right to me so I went back to the delivery center- after reporting it to the employee he kinda had an annoyed look and said to me here you want seven bucks and pulled out his wallet- again not a big deal but it was not a great customer service experience. I had a couple of other interactions with that particular person and I generally just feel like he was kind of a dick… Luckily he does not work there anymore.
Summary… Make sure your car is not plugged in to a charger when you accept delivery.
does anyone know what kind of battery chemistry is the new model y long range rear wheel drive?
I took delivery of my model 3 LR today, it only had a light scratch and one small flaw in the paint low down on the rear bumper that I may just end up ignoring. I drove home in the rain and noticed some condensation in the front headlight so I added that to the service appointment. Other than that it looks good.
Inform Tesla about the paint discoloration, and they will repaint that area.

@@whoajack Light Show in Toybox plays a song (can have volume down) and uses all lights on vehicles. Good way to check. Not optimal but does the trick.

My old M3P was removed from the App instantly. I still had the card keys, yet Tesla already triggered the removal when I checked-in to see the car before agreeing to accept the delivery.

I have a little question about the tax credit return, does anyone know when buying a model Y, will it b/c it exceeded $50000, buyer will disqualify from the $7500 tax return?

Honestly I think taking delivery is the problem. This model 3 performance is taking forever I ordered it within the first 12 hours of it going live and now I'm July and August delivery date. Ryan you got to figure this out for us

I went 30 minutes ahead of my appointment and asked the advisor to unlock the car for me. During that time I documented any issues.

This is great information. I created a check list, but you gave some excellent ideas...so I'm expanding my check list now.
To help others be sure to Activate your Autopilot options for fsd supervised. Also, take a quick look at the belly pan under the car...make sure no damage took place when unloading from the delivery.
I was going to ask you Ryan, did you have to ..bed your brakes? I know the factory tests the vehicle, but I can't seem to nail that data down. I know you can do this from the service menu...but I'd rather not do this if its been done. Did you have to do this? Did you feel the brakes were good or were they a little weak at first?
Also should double check under the front seats for loose hardware..the extra blower motor for the cooled seats is why. Another youtuber had a loose part is why I mentioned it. It was very random..but couldn't hurt to just take a quick look is all.

Question: Ryan, if im making final payment for CyberTruck delivery with a Certified check is it made out simply to Tesla? Tesla Motor Inc? Im going through process now but in the Tesla app directions all it says is that my RN # and name must appear in memo line. Trying to make contact with a human at Tesla has been impossible so far to ask this simple question. Thanks😅

So the take-away from this video is that the quality control on a Tesla is awful so you need to perform a customer acceptance inspection on your car - something that every major auto manufacturer from Honda to Mercedes-Benz does on all their vehicles prior to a customer taking delivery. Ridiculous. Thanks, but no thanks.

It's funny yep that would be the Take away for someone who's never driven a Tesla. But most of those who has driven one, it would be meaningless totally. For the Tesla are sold by word of mouth alone, they don't have to advertise for a reason.

I’ve driven a Model S and a Model Y. The ride doesn’t even come close to the ride of a Mercedes Benz. In addition, the trim and finish is so cheap I find it hard to justify the cost of the Model Y.
In fairness, I think if I was collecting any new car, I'd want to do my own thorough examination. It's not like any new car, budget or otherwise are exactly a "cheap" purchase. And noting anything you have issues with as and when you collect would save any potential headaches further down the line as they can't deny it's not their fault.
Could not wait to get a Tesla, But now I found a Tesla is mot like a car of old.
Tesla controls when you can sell the car so you dont really own it.
Every thing you do say or go to is tracked and reported back to Tesla, you have ZERO privacy.
You cannot repair a Tesla, hardly any mechanic will touch a damaged one.
More and more places wont allow EV cars for fear of fire.
Insurance is expensive for ICE cars, but astronomic for EVs.
Maintenance costs are crazy for EVs, for just a battery and electric motor.
I could go on.
Now you could not pay me to have a Tesla. Especially my privacy is too high a price to give up.
Tesla is a data mining company that happens to make and sell cars.
The way Ryan “normalizes” all the Tesla delivery issues is truly amazing. You have to either be a Tesla fanatic or have shares in the company to accept all of this nonsense. Absurd…
Tesla don't value their cars used. Unless you are going to keep it a long time, then don't buy one. Their build is horrendous. Only reason to have one is their charge network.

I just canceled my new model 3 performance order. It was going to be my 9th Tesla but after all of the reviews saying that they are having tons of issues at delivery, I'm going to wait. I've been really happy with my used Tesla's instead. Every new Tesla I have taken delivery on, has always had issues
I don't understand how this company can't fix this. It's pathetic.
I’m not suggesting that it’s not a great thing to put out such a video, but the impression that this gives is that there’s a long list of faults that people might expect to find.
The reality is that the vast majority of new Tesla’s are flawless, and you can probably spend less than half the time it would take to check all of this.
I guess I'm not the only person complaining of not being able to contact Tesla by phone!! The only person that was helpful was my Tesla agent.

Do you have a video that details your background, how you got to be a RUclipsr, how you chose to focus on Tesla, etc? If not, maybe that is a video that needs to be made. Anyone else feel free to chime in if you want that video!
You LITERALLY do not need to check anything that's covered by your warranty. Enjoy the delivery and drive home after one quick walk around. If your phone charger doesn't work, your warranty will cover it and you have 4 years to find that issue. Typically like your videos but this is vastly unnecessary and causes a ton of unnecessary work for the delivery staff.
I agree I don’t understand this video. Although I do agree with checking for scratches and chips on the exterior that way they can’t blame you later.
I just ordered a Y on Monday. They have this "Complete your tasks to avoid delays in delivery" message. I did what can be done, short of insurance for a car I won't get to weeks. It sounds to me like they won't let me setup delivery unless I buy insurance weeks before I get the car. I am guessing that is means, deliver can't happen without insurance, but what I need to do by when feels like a much more straight forward way to do this. Am I crazy here?
No you misunderstood the section. It is asking for you to load your current insurance carrier. When you get a vin you can get a more specific quote from your carrier and setup a activation date that aligns with your pickup date..again quotes typically last 60 days and remain in your profile. This is not rocket science.
Talk to a physical store on the phone, they were able to help me fill out some of the things & clear up all my questions
They did need the actual proof of insurance.
My Model Y was flawless.

As much as I’d absolutely love to have a Tesla, I don’t want to have this worry when I pick up my car. This makes me not want to purchase.
They should just invest in better QC...
It appears you don't get to choose whether the car is delivered to your house or you have to go there to pick it up. Other dealers are more flexible with Tesla on what options you have for delivery and also getting a loaner when you need the vehicle to be serviced. And as mentioned if the car has issues you can swap it for another one pretty easily at the dealer but not so with Tesla. And as mentioned getting in touch with Tesla after the fact is notoriously difficult God forbid you have a warranty issue later on which you likely will even if the car is perfect at delivery. Other dealers are easy to get in touch with and find a service center nearby, Teslas will likely be much further away even in dense urban areas like Los Angeles, even if there's a location nearby you may be asked to go somewhere further away.
I got my Tesla 2 days ago and crashed it the next day 😢. I was doing auto park and some car speed up in front of my car and the car didn’t stop
What ended up happening were they able to fix your Tesla and did your insurance increase

? How do you plan to add a vehicle without an assigned vin? Once you get a vin, add the vehicle to your current policy. How I this a hard concept to understand? It can't be any different vs other carriers.
@@williamgrunzweig571 I know, I was asking if it easier since I want tesla insurance, but have never bought a car from tesla, so I don't know the steps of when they give me the Vin. Anyway, relax really, is bad for your health 😉.
I ordered a 3 on Monday and took delivery yesterday. I got a VIN in the first day so i was then able to configure my insurance all in the app. However, I think I needed a delivery date scheduled to finalize the insurance step.
