P-61 Black Widow is a twin-engine, twin-boom bomber with tricycle landing gear. Named for the America spider, it is the first operational U.S warplane designed as a night fighter with nearly all black appearance, and the first aircraft designed to use radar. Now we are so proud to launch the Dynam P-61 Black Widow 1.5m twin-engine warbird. It has the familiar scale outline and excellent flight performance. For P-61 enthusiasts; they can take the Dynam P-61 Black Widow 1.5m warbird home easily and fly in the sky with great joy.

Yep if your willing to do the work they always fly fantastic. I do wish they would charge a little more and get a quality retract in them though

Wes I’ve took a couple apart. The casing is too small, it pinches the power leads to the motor and cuts it. One time a retract had too much solder on lead and it kept the casing from fitting tight and the gears inside would move enough to lose grip. But the Tempest it’s wired, it works but needs turning on and off about 6 times and they work. Like they just don’t check they enough at Dynam 😳👍🏻✌🏻🖖🏻 hope Lori is doing well and your not in the line of fire on bad days 🤣😃🤣😂❤️

So cool!! How'd he do'em?? I own Dynam. The Boozer team is like me....one way or another, IT'S GONNA WORK!! Like you, Wes, I used to have a model hanging in my room. Believe it or not, it was a Black Widow version of a B-25 Mitchell. It was my first airplane build 34yrs ago.

Been eyeing this one a long time. Really glad to see you like it. I think once they are back in stock state side I will pick one up. I have a couple sets of retracts laying around as well as oleo struts I can use to spruce it up. Never seen one at the field and that is the kind I like to fly. If you ever get a chance to fly the Seagull Models 90" Stuka you will think the ailerons on the P-61 are just fine. lol

Thank you for the video and great idea about swapping out the landing gear with a Phantom’s. My P-61 is still in the box and I’ve been waiting for a landing gear suggestion before getting started on it.
And tell Dad amazing job with the rivets. That bird looks awesome.

Thereasonthe ailerons aren't very responsive on the Dynam model is because the original aircraft had very small ailerons, and wing spoilers. The only reason the original plane has any ailerons at all, is because the pilotswere afraid of the plane without ailerons. They only added ailerons to appease the pilots. The plane flew just as well without them. I have a VQ Warbirds 95 inch model of the plane. It has both spoilers, and ailerons which are only two inches long.

Beautiful plane, however it’s really sad when these companies make these awesome planes, but put in cheap gear which takes away from the whole , what could be, an incredible plane and flying experience, my Carbon T28 is another one of those planes that the retracts could have been way better outta the box, but hey...that’s what makes us all modelers right, again...beautiful work on the plane as always guys👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼

is the entire rear wheels /strut e-flight f4 ? looks like a fms A-10 wheels ? all three retract pockets let go on mine out of the box ,almost no glue never flew it still on the redoo all the glue joint list from last year

    • @MerryBoozerRC

Yes it’s the retracts and struts from the F-4 that being said the are the wrong way so I had to make a new rod and file a new flat so they retract backwards instead of to the side

@@MerryBoozerRC Wes, I actually installed some E-Flite 25-46 (think that's correct) on my Dynam Tempest. $130 retracts on a plane that cost maybe $140 when purchased. I installed new mounts that I angled back to match full scale bird. This required also rotating the mounts around the wingtip to wingtip axis so that the wheel lays flat in the wing but still extend out in front of the leading edge of the wing and be straight front to back when extended. Removed mount, filled entire retract and wheel well with blue board insulation. Cut new wheel well and retract pocket at correct location and angled. New 3/8 plywood rails, drilled two CF rods through LE and rails on each wing. Gorilla glue rails, gorilla glue rods through wing and rails, cut off rods that pass through rails. Float the rails to wing with lightweight spackle, repaint with color match latex from Home Depot. Found video of how to do it on RUclips and was dying to try it. Dynam put the gear on this plane EXACTLY on the CG, horrible. Even on their own CG drawing CG dead on the gear when extended and retracted. This is a fantastic flying plane with a really nice scale appearance. One of my favorite mods I've ever done, looks great, world perfect. This plane now performs the most easy scale take off and landings of any taildragger I own! Maybe I'll throw a quick vid on my channel tomorrow.
