In 2012 I was playing James' first album and my dad who was 80 years at the time came into the room and and asked (in spanish, 'cause we are mexican and live in Mexico): "Who is this playing? I like it. It's free jazz, but newer. It's really good." And proceeded to stay to llisten to the rest of the album. RIP dad

He said he's going to walk the dog around the house a couple times before going for a jog to the supermarket to see Apu and get a slurpie "come again" Apu whispers as I grasp the hot dog so tightly it flies out the window but luckily my bird friend caught it and flew back to the treehouse where he was greeted by the squirrel gang which all started singing hymns as the bird pecked away at the hot dog to make perfect segments, then by the grace of god tony soprano appeared with a bunch of weed and that's where the story began@@huimo4886

Really enjoyed the workflow breakdown of a talented musician and your use of and explanation of modular. I can lose myself for hours in my modular set up and end up with a full on live performance of something I initially had no intention of creating! The machine almost tells us what it's going to do, we just tweak it to prevent in sounding like bird noise lol. As soon as it hits that 'yes' moment I hit record and try and get a demo out on RUclips.

I dont think Blake knows how interesting this is. He left us last interview with the sentiment of "I spent all this time and money on modular and got nothing out" and now we get a completely different perspective. Both Blake interviews are extremely interesting, informative and entertaining. I could listen to him talking about this process and thoughts on music for many episodes.

so interesting! I noticed the modular jam isn't clocked to Logic...its free -running. He must find the jam's tempo afterwards and builds the song around that tempo. I am assuming..

Fine to not clock simple dry stuff that's gonna get chopped up anyway, but needed for anything longer running especially with effects built in. I perform whole sets on modular with maybe some pads and melodies triggered through Ableton Push so always have everything fully clocked with reset on everything too.

C what? Which C? Berhain have sub 30hz not sub 20 capability just FYI. Around 28hz is as low as it goes. But I think most tracks are mastered for around 30hz there.
