Been a fan of you since 1987. I was a kid in middle school listening to your whistle scratch and getting chills at your transforming. You're a legend. Thank for sharing your process, words don't exist. Simply amazing and fun to watch you in action!
This is like a masterclass in how to go about remixing or building up a beat and bringing the track to fruition. It's like watching a magician really, really closely, every step of the way and not taking your eyes of his hands, only to be amazed at the final reveal. there are lots of vids on YT like this but this has got to be, hands down, one of the best.
I love this genius man! He's really one of the oldschool DJ's and Producer who's really blessed with talent! Even in Germany all the people who know good hip-hop music love this guy!! Lots of best wishes from Germany!
Jazzy I remember the record you did called a touch of Jazz...as a 10 year old you opened my mind to other styles of music and I have never looked back, thank you
I'm so pissed this is the first time I'm seein' DJ Jazzy Jeff in my feed. I have pulled up "Touch of Jazz" and "As We Go" so many times on RUclips and not ONCE did they think to suggest my man's channel?!?! Yo, Jazzy.....it's so good to see you on here, man. I'm not going to bore you with how much you influenced me as a kid. But you did. I just couldn't be happier that I can check out your vids now. I love you, man. Always have. I love what you do and have always done. People kept talking about Will back in the day (which is deserved) but I was always like, "Yo! LISTEN! That's Jazzy Jeff, man! It ain't just Will and this Jazzy mofo is ON!". You're the man. Good to see you on here. God bless you and yours.
Man that was great fast and straight to the point. I have Serato Studio I've been a DJ for years. I always wanted to make beats and remixes but, I never had any musical background training to do so. You made that software look so easy to do. That's why a lot of DJ's look's up to with a lot of respect. Big ups to you. You are the magnificent DJ Jazzy Jeff!!! Thank you sir..
Man, we love you Jazz. Thank you for all the great years of keeping us informed, entertained and dropping dope beats. It’s people like yourself that make me glad I was born in THIS era of watching you grow. God Bless you man!
WOW! just WOW! I've opened up Serato Studio and you only hear train wrecks and car crashes... lol. This is why you are the KING! Thanks for showing your skills.
You make it look so easy. Thats why you’ve been my favorite DJ in hip hop forever. Followed you and Will from the beginning. Oh lord I’m telling my age lol.
Great idea. Not that he needs the money but imagine him doing a series of vids walking us through production on just Studio. And making them mini tuts would be awesome. Each short. Then maybe one longer one showing how everything comes together.
Thank you Jeff. It’s an honor to see you work. You’ve been an inspiration to me since you and Will’s first album. And although I stopped DJing and mixing years ago, seeing you always makes me want to jump back in it. Even if just as a bedroom hobby. Studio, though, makes sense to me. Going back to my 4-track recorder days, this feels intuitive. Thanks again for putting this video out.
The magnificent. This man is from other galaxy. Many people just dream about making this kind of beats and he simply kick it without effort. Very talented producer and scratch master too.
The GREAT!!!!! Jazzy Jeff.....You and Wil Smith Been doing Classic Hits for years much LOVE Great!! Tutorial....I learned alot...... You should start your own tutorial class online.....
Brilliant. I'm here on my desktop pc on a Friday night in the UK (on another lockdown so nowhere is open), sat on one of those Swiss ball exercise things (get a bad back in normal chairs) and I'm bouncing up and down like a loon. Excellent tutorial!
I truly enjoy watching brothers share their talents to all that are interested. This guy has been doing this a long time and it shows by the way he puts information out there for you. Much love and respect the Magnificent One.
Jeff, you're starting to look like Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon from a certain angle. It's kind of trippy because I watching Fresh Prince on Netflix last night.
when I was a kid watching Fresh Prince, idolizing Will and Jeff, I never imagined someday I would be watching a pioneer and learning from him. Gotta love the world sometimes.
Yo Jazzy, I want you to tell all these people How many of those deejays out there can get with you (None) (None of them) How many? (None of them) Tell the truth (None) (None of them) (None of them) Now make the record burp.
This is why you are the Magnificent. Thank you. I'm 50 years old and still have the "Rock the House " cd. I was going to bring it to beer fest in Toronto 2019 and try to get you to sign it but I didn't. I was worried I would lose it. It's not called beer fest for nothing.
It's a valid starter piece yet it's good for overall digital interaction from DAW to interface. Although I'm not Jeff, I can add on with what I know to help.
DJPolarity answered your question well. It’s got the basics of what you want and need in a controller. A couple more, or hell even just one more knob would be nice though to expand what you can map it to. Also tbh I was kind of hoping it would be compatible with iOS using a camera card adapter, but it didn’t work. It’s fine for PC or Mac tho. And it’s kind of neat you can use it as a stand-alone keyboard too, with several synth and drum presets, a speaker+ 3.5 mm line out built in.
Tell him to learn to play a real instrument- (keyboard/guitar ect ) then he can worry about a cheap plastic computer controller when he can actually do something musical.
The master at work. Dj Jazzy Jeff and Grand Master Flash inspired me to become a dj. Had a great part time career as a club, radio and event dj on top of my regular day job for 26 years. Thank you for keeping on inspiring the next generations of dj's and producers. Jeff you the man. Imo, goat of the one's and two's.
I heard a rumor that when Jazz left the studio there was a sudden cut to a crane shot outside, then a cut to the front door, and he went flying toward his car like "AAAAH!"
super impressive! now I finally get serato studio. I was struggling thinking it lacked detail for more indepth beat programming - but here, the was you use it - it really shines, as does your lifetime of music making and collecting experience
Love you Brother, been a a fan since i was a kid, im 46 now and you rock just as hard today (if not more) as the first time i heard you with Will. Be safe my Brother and best wishes to you and your fam!
I have been a Jazzy Jeff Fan since a friend gave me a mix tape and I mean a actual mix tape that he made in his room. 33 years ago. this was like sitting next to the master while he worked. I loved it so much that I decided to see what the cost of the program was and found that it was free. ( at least Partially). Man now I may never leave this room except to bathe and work. Jazzy my wife might be writing you soon lol.
I give you mad props for not only being one of the all time greatest DJ's, and not only being one of the pioneers that still playing, but for also keeping with the changing times and really owning it! Thank you!! But... dropping "_____ fill"s and "_____ fill"s, but no Uncle Phil joke(?). It's all good. Still got nothing but love and respect for you😘😘
No ego and lots of skill, sharing creativity with simplicity and passion. Hats off.
Absolute genius. I love the fact that we get to see proper old school DJs using the latest tech to develop their skills further.
its just to simplify the proces, develop further i wont say that
@Jayo Delaware to me it's genius.
As an old skool cat that's still in the game, we must keep up on emerging processes so we can move forward with creativity and produce that 💣 shit
Yeah that’s simply amazing.
Crazy..he startin to look like Jeffrey

If you ever reach this level of dopeness, you add the title “The Magnificent” to your producer name. What a legend.
The man's stage name couldn't be more accurate. "Magnificent," and humble about it too.

This is the best ad Serato could hope for.

Never thought I'd come across a free masterclass from Jazzy Jeff lmao
I use Serato for chopping samples. Never thought about using it to make my own remixes. Remixes are what set you apart from other Dj’s. Thanks Jeff
You make it look so easy. Thats why you’ve been my favorite DJ in hip hop forever. Followed you and Will from the beginning. Oh lord I’m telling my age lol.
Why does this beat sound so catchy, fun and positive? Jazzy Jeff behind it? Makes sense now... 💯💯💯
I was expecting Jeff to be thrown out the studio by Uncle Phil.

James Avery is dead.....(uncle Phil)
Sadly uncle Phil passed a few years ago 🥺
Im sick.. this is a runaround production by the greatest DJ ever, he does it nonchalantly on the fly for us plebs for free. Humble yourselves.
I'd absolutely pay for an online master class.

Wooww, DJ. Jazzy Jeff. Real breaks it down. He teaches you but makes it simple. And gives you an idea how much is made and remixed.
Cool 👍
Damn Jeffery is ice cold with the beats
I like how you called yourself the Magnificent DJ Jazzy Jeff. Very appropriate. You are the Magnificent DJ, Jazzy Jeff. Big long time props to you
"Tropical" hits harder on the Exotica album, but I like what Jeff did with this. This sample definitely has that Beatnuts sound.
When you have the magic, you can do anything. Respect.
I haven't seen Jeff since the early 2000s oh my god. Still sounds the same, except smarter of course. Love you dude.
