Just a question... Can you guys do one about animating the data sub operators.?

I thought mP shape-s "by density" is supposed to calculate the mass by volume. So it does what you did with the data operator manually. Am I wrong?

mp Shape give a uniform mass to all the pieces that's why i used the data operator so the mass of the piece will be according to their volume

You are correct mp Shape->By Density does calculate using the volume. You would use a Data Operator if you wanted to included something like a multiplier for the mass.

Thanks for this video. I wonder if this would be easier accomplished in thinking particles or houdini. Anyone now the answer to that?

Van Dammage Houdini is the god of particles lol. This effect is probably could be done using just out of the box tools

yes I think so too.... I'm a long time max user, love the software but for FX houdini looks great. The question is more like would something like this take fewer steps/faster to create in Houdini? The fragmentation is not that important it's the final part in pflow and data operators I'm curious about.

Van Dammage yes it extremely easy process in Houdini

CGfriends thank you for that clarification. I'm gonna dive into houdini soon, love how everything is connected unlike 3ds and maya

Van Dammage Houdini is my main vfx tool .i would love to do tutorial about Houdini ,but there’s not much interest in it.because most find it too intimidating and complex
