    Great content as always. It just shines through that you had completed your professional research in advance of the interview in such a way that you asked the kind of questions to which ALL sellers would want to hear the answers. Thanks Kian.

    Great video. Is it 15-20k in the UK? U.S. or globally to file. Most people compete globally, so having one country can be a small cost and not a reasonable representation of costs. Thanks! :)

    Patents destroy innovation. Those who can afford patents are the same who have the wealth and time to fight month or year long legal battles. Really only meant for massive corporations.

    • @SourcingWithKian
      @SourcingWithKian  Год назад +1

      My friend, imagine the scenario, you’re a single parent, 45 years old, many expenses, not much finances, you figure out a new winning product that’s never been done before.
      You get a patent on that product, you take it to market and it’s a huge success because it’s never been done before, the ‘massive corporations’ as you mention try to copy this product but can’t because there is a patent on the product.
      Now this single parent has protection and can sell this product without being thrown off by the ‘massive corporations’ with bigger budgets.
      When it comes to selling their business, they can also get a much higher valuation because the product and brand has patent protection.
      A patent gives any innovator or creator protection that their unique ideas won’t be copied. Therefore, it helps protect the innovators.

      @@SourcingWithKian in this imaginary scenario, the single parent has enough time and money extra to 1) develop an idea 2) create a business plan 3) develop prototypes 4) pay for large scale manufacturing 5) create a structure to fulfill orders, and the endless list thing to do while raising a child and have one income? Even in your childish example, that’s impossible, especially here in the US. People are barely surviving on two incomes and you expect a single parent to file patents. You’re either delusional or just that out of touch with the real world.

    • @SourcingWithKian
      @SourcingWithKian  Год назад

      @@juansalgado6212 my friend with respect, I know this is possible because it happens countless times, I do a lot of coaching within the crowdfunding community, people are launching innovative ideas all the time and use crowdfunding (Kickstarter & Indiegogo) to finance their orders. My point is that patents give these people protection. You can see the videos on my channel, all it does is provide help and solutions to people wanting to develop products and I hope it can do the same for you too 🙏

    • @juansalgado6212
      @juansalgado6212 Год назад +1

      @@SourcingWithKian it’s possible but not common what so ever. Why do you think wealth is controlled by the 1%. To think that anyone and everyone can go all that it pure stupidity. I’ve developed products and have launch various to market. I’ve seen more people fail than succeed. Again only those with massive funds can apply and defend patents. A single parent on a single income can not afford either of those things. This channel is only meant for a lucky few who have the time to even watch. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones.
