It's not a bad bit of kit, most providers aren't offering WiFi 6 compatible routers at the moment, and the way the 4G backup is integrated is quite smart. We haven't personally tested it, however.

  • @favebook

It seems their complaint system has a gate keeper. That is to say the 'expert' tweeks things and gets things going and says we can't progress the complaint while its working and then the say give it 24 hours to settle down and you guessed it - it fails again. So i would suggest that their complaints would be much higher than published if they allowed them through the gate keeper system

Vodafone are not very flexible when to comes to renegotiating your contract. The only way to get the same deal as a new customer is to, essentially, become a new customer! Your existing connection will be cut and then you will have to be reconnected on same day (also you receive new modem-router etc). The problem with this is that YOU WILL LOSE LANDLINE NUMBER as your existing number is associated with existing account and not available for your NEW account! I believe the situation is similar with BT.

@@topfuelteddy Actually things have moved on since I posted that. I did nothing continuing to pay about 32 gbp per month then vodafone offered new upgrade deal with new modem (THG3000) which comes with two phone ports built in (along with the four ethernet ports) at around 25 gbp. So went with that keeping my original landline number but now digital rather than copper.

    Thanks for the video 👍.
With the 910 package are they able to utilise a redundant Virginmedia 1 meg broadband line that runs to the outside wall of the property? My driveway is block paved, so there’s no way to run a new line from the pavement and having seen the Virgin cable when the old driveway was taken up, half of it isn’t even in protective sleeping/trunking, so there’s no way for Vodafone to push their own cable through it. There are no overhead services, so no way to run a new cable that way.

    • @broadbandsavvy

It should be possible - you'd need to book an install and get an Openreach engineer over to say for certain.

You will need to pay for line rental with Vodafone (included in the monthly cost) as is the case with most providers unfortunately. When some providers like BT offer broadband only, basically what they're doing is charging you extra to activate your landline if you want to use it. Vodafone doesn't do this.

It could be that there is an issue with Openreach at your address that most major providers are unlikely to want to go into bat for you to fix. If this is the case we would recommend a smaller provider like Zen, they are more likely to be helpful and tell you what's going on.
