Best Broadband For Gamers UK - Fast Fibre, Low Latency
You speak clearly and are very intelligent 👌
Sorry, you din’t mention the 12 month Unlimited plan for Vodafone- 29 upfront and 33 monthly. Doesn’t sound too bad?
Their deals, especially the basic ones, are generally some of the cheapest on the market.
Which is better, the EE Smart Hub Pro or the Vodafone Ultra Hub Pro II?
EE's has better WiFi, Vodafone's is less locked down with regards to settings like custom DNS.
Mine is awful and constantly lags, the download speed is always so low
would EE or three be better for mobile broadband gaming on a ps5? i have to pick one as my flat only has copper wiring. i've read online that both allow the ps5 to connect to the network but not the internet...
The only way to tell is to test, if you have someone with a Three or EE SIM card, try to see if you can connect from their phone's WiFi hotspot and measure the latency.
Is this 5g hub available for US?
No but we believe companies like Verizon offer a similar thing.
i only have part fibre nothing can save my ping 😢
We have the 4G Mobile Broadband from Three (unfortunately at the moment our address does not allow for 5G). In the lounge we have positioned the router by the window and can stream TV very well. However in the bedroom at the other end of the flat (about 20 metres from the lounge with a thick wall in between) we don't get a signal strong enough to watch TV. What do you suggest we do to avoid moving the router every time we want to watch TV in a different room? 1) do we need to hard wire cables from the router to other devices? or 2) is there a recommended booster that can be plugged into other rooms?
You could run an Ethernet cable or potentially use a mesh WiFi system to fix the issue.
Also watch out for their fair use policy. My broadband was cut off ruitinely over a period of about 3 months. The customer service said there was nothing wrong with the account. I eventually got an engineer out who said I was using it too much and was hitting the fair usage limit. As I was out of contract I moved provider who handled everything.
I was told by the call centre that all residential services were moving over to EE, and BT would be for businesses only. Was I informed correctly? At the moment awaiting switch over from BT to EE.
That is correct but it's not happening immediately, you can still buy BT residential broadband.
@@broadbandsavvy Thank you.
Internet connection not working and the only way to report it is, wait for it... using an Internet connection. I tried using the chat on my mobile and now in a holding pattern unsure if anyone will get back to me let alone when. I'd laugh if I weren't so frustrated. If you're debating whether to join... Do yourself a favour and find a company with tech support you can actually speak to.
Will the three mifi be good enough for me to play my xbox online
It should be usable but its download speeds are a bit limited, and its ping isn't the best for very ping-sensitive games. You might like to consider the Three 5G Hub, which you can normally get on a one-month contract. It connects to 4G if you can't get 5G where you are.
Great video , thank you 👍
No 1) piece of advice, if you need to call BT for anything set-aside 7am till 9pm. no 2) Have Valium & Beta blockers at the ready, in fact save time & take them pre-call, as one thing is for sure your gonna require them. No 3) Be prepared to be patronised to astronoimical levels, No 4) Expect ZERO results with any enquiry, No 5) make sure your phone is on a low tariff as you are going to be on the phone for many hours, No 6) a padded room will be required after interaction. No 7) Do not put your foot through the TV screen or have anything delicate or of value (smashable) close to hand, no 8) DO NOT ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THEM, No 9) pretend they are the Titanic & evacute the company as an emergency!!

EE on top (definetly no saying this because I'm a tech guide for them lol) on a real tho first ones to release wifi 7
I’ve had the sky max hub for 6 months and last week it stopped working and started slowly flashing green. Had an engineer out and they replaced the hub. It worked for 10 minutes before doing the same thing, flashing green. I then tried a friends black hub and it worked perfectly. I’ve asked sky but they are clueless 😢
Would this be any good for day trading, or would the latency be too much? I can only get 67Mbps at home on the landline.
Think it'll be fine, you'll be at 40ms or so if you can use an Ethernet cable rather than WiFi.
I use mobile internet for the gaming and my ping is around 20-30ms. I use 4g because 5g gets ''crowded'' after working hours and It becomes a little bit laggy/unstable because of that.
I currently have Vodafone 900 on the old hub. Spoke to them today and they have given me the Pro II and 900mb for £28, Bargain!!
👍🏻
How do you hard rest the hub?
Hold down the WPS button for 30 seconds or so.
Any mesh recommendations that would work with this router?
Thank you for the information .
ultimately you have to test your area location & see if it works for you many variables, download speed was good, latency was crap.. i returned my 5G router.
Thank you for the knowledge, you've also delivered it really well. just wanted to know whether you are endorsed by any of these companies? regardless, you're content is valuable and I appreciate your expertise in this field, your doing a service for us all.
We sometimes do sponsored videos but it's relatively rare, and we'll let you know at the beginning of the video.
Hi. Is it possible to turn off the built in DHCP server on this router and the standard Smart Hub Plus? I'm hoping, if I swap to EE, I can run my own local DHCP server to get around not being able to change DNS on the hub itself. Thanks!
From looking through the settings we don't think disabling DHCP is possible unfortunately.
New customer swapping from Virgin the 910 service is only £28 a month for 2 year contract ..would be mad not to swap..Virgin could only offer this for £40 after telling them I was leaving
I am a VERY unhappy BT customer (TV and internet) and can't wait to give them the shove. I called BT customer services to cancel my TV contract yesterday and it took my 20 minutes on hold before I finally got though, then another 5+ minutes on hold again, until the representative got back to me to confirm cancellation. Good riddance!!! I am now on the look out for a new internet provider and it appears that fibre (now in my village) is cheaper than ADSL. Comparison sites show PlusNet in my village, but TBH given that they are part of the BT "owned" I think for me this is reason enough to avoid them. Also their pricing is higher than other less well known companies. Given that any optical cable will go to the same telegraph pole and same network (I am pretty sure they all use the same cables in the same way gas from different suppliers uses the same pipes) I can't se how it makes a difference in which provider you use. Also PlusNet has only a 2 star rating on Trustpilot, something I can't ignore. Yes I am sure some people have had great service, but 77% only rate the company 1-star - same rating I just gave BT 🙂 in any case, appreciate your video.
ive got 1200 where i live as a download speed which mean that it is provider issue for u
I've recently taken out a onestream deal and havent got anything to complain about yet. The fact they dont foist thier own router upon you is actually the biggest selling point for me, as my day to day job invloves regularly fighting against poor quality ISP routers - im yet to see a genuinely good one. The simple service to the property allows me to use my own Draytek router for my own network and negate all the horrors I see at work. Also, McAfee is nowhere to be seen on my account. Perhaps this only applies to certain packages? Great video otherwise!
Does Smart Hub Pro WiFi 7 able to work with the 500mbs package?
Yes, it'll work.
I’m considering EE 1gb service but does the smart hub pro have Wi-Fi 7? It appears we wants to sell a smart wifi pro unit to get wifi 7…
The Smart Hub Pro has WiFi 7.
I have 1gbps virgin media but when i check for EE, Vodafone, and community fiber they all says they can only give me 37mbps and idk if I’m gonna have 2gbps virgin media soon? if anyone know why please tell me
It's possible you're in an area that's only really served by Virgin, but Community Fibre should offer faster speeds than that, if they service your address.
ee is more expensive no way dont be fooled stick with bt
So 3 also do home broadband. Don't order that by mistake!
Looks just like last years EE smart router. (and back and the settings interface) (no surprise as all part of BT Group)
the old dial up internet used to be faster than this. They are investigating gigaclear right now for missing evidence of what they advertise. Lots of lies to make money that they will use to fix up a bit and fight legal . This shit seems to be the plan these days when starting a new thing.

Considering the top tier Sky Broadband or the the top tier EE, which would you say is the better option?
Q2:How many devices can The WiFi max hub hold up to?
I’m with sky at the moment I got like fibre 65 I think but I have a few questions Q1:Do you think the sky max hub is worth 3 pound extra? It’s Bc I have the same hub but it’s a black colour and I think its a WiFi 5 hub.
I think the device limit is 128 devices. It would be worth upgrading to we think, depending on how large your house is.
You dont mention their essentials package for those that are on universal credit .
BT is better

Is brsk good for like a big family, like a family of 7 we all have like a device each, i have an ipad and a Gaming pc is this broadband good for me?
They should be good if you get one of their faster plans.
I have some questions 1:Do you think Vodafone pro II broadband is worth the money? 2:I know Vodafone pro II is powered by WiFi 6E but I just wanna know does the 3 5G or 4G hub powered by WiFi 6 or WiFi 5? (I rlly don’t know why I asked about 3 broadband in a Vodafone broadband video lol)
It's worth it if you need WiFi 6E and the extender, especially if you can get a discount as a Vodafone mobile customer. The 5G Hub has WiFi 6.
Timely video. I'm with Vodafone and undecided whether to pick this kit up second hand or just take the plunge on something like Deco mesh. I've got Vodafone 200mb right now. Upgrading to pro2 would mean the hardware would cost £400+ over the life of the contract...
A great video hope you’re well
