Good video. Those mechanical speed controllers have a segmented ring on the bottom part that sends more power to the motor. The top part just has a single contact that moves across the bottom contacts. It was probably cutting out at full throttle because the upper contact was going past the bottom contact point. They were kind of pain to set up. I had an original Tamiya Hornet back in 1986 that had a version of one.
awesome looking car, petty sure with a few electrical mods, you can get that speed up a bit better. might spin out on only 2wd, but give it a go and see what you can get.
I actually built that with the monthly parts , I think it was around 2003 and cost about £700+ here in the uk to build as when it was finished they had upgrades every month. shocks tyres gearing etc. I only recently sold it. burnt my fingers on that white heat sink a few times 😂 enjoyed the video , subbed ya 👍🐿
@@009ADVENTURES yeah I done some research and found out it was a monthly build. I also burnt my fingers on the white ballast resistor. Thanks for watching and subbing. 👍🏼🚗
@@pavloskontoulis7450 thanks for that. I normally coat the underside with a rubber coating that I buy in the plumbing section at my local hardware store. It works really well. It keeps the flex in the body without cracking it.
I'm getting the same one but unfortunately not complete. do you know where i can find those magazines as a pdf? i think mine is missing all the eletronic
@@futureunderimprovisation yeah nice. Might be a bit hard to find on pdf, you would need someone who was dedicated for the car. Unfortunately I did have all the magazines, me thinking no one would want them, I decided to throw them out. Yeah big mistake on my end, I would have sent them to you. But if you need help , I’m more than Happy to email You pics of what you need to co Plate the build , or through instagram also

cool subaru, great runs 👍😎😎👌
Thanks dude. Once I change it over to brushless, then I’m hoping for better speeds over 65km. And Il try and find a track I can bash it on. 👍🏼🚗

MSC, mechanical speed controller
@@krisby1 yeah sure is. It didn’t last long. I have taken it out already as it cuts out at full throttle. Next video will be going brushless. 👍🏼🚗
Be careful the cover (lexan) because it's plastic and breaking to easy
