On the ARK-9, the big left-right wiggle of the needle is an "unstick" function. Because steam-gauge needles can get stuck. With the ARK-UD, the Narrow is narrow frequency, so it can capture something like a morse signal over longer range. Wide is wide frequency, so it means you can tune into a voice transmission. A use case for Wide would be to give information over voice to an incoming MEDEVAC/CASEVAC flight.
Doppler nav use multiple beam janus arrays, example 3 beam/4 beam etc.. Picture the beams at a slant angle in each quadrant and therfore as the aircraft drifts or flys towards one beam the doppler shift frequency alters ie increases on the advancing beams and decreases on the retreating beams
great tutorial, I have used the dopplar on this before to find my way to some remote spots, it will get you in the vicinity, but precise flying, it is not.
Just noting your EPIRB sound effect - download and use this one if you want a realistic S&R radio tone :) commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Radio_beacon_of_distress_on_121,5_MHz.ogg As I flew S&R missions in P-3 I heard this quite a lot, and yes it is as obnoxious and annoying after a while as it sounds lol.

This video has made me appreciate GPS even more lol
Thanks for the tutorial, I'm enjoying it.

Really important skill to get before joining a server with a CGI ! Thx

Thankyou cap 🙇
Must get into the Hip - I just get too intimidated by all the controls! (q.v. the Mig-21)
Do it! It looks intimidating at first, but really it's not that bad.
I cheated and bought the NS 430
lol
That splat noise is killing me
I don t even know that u can use a comune radio to be tracked
Please make a tutorial about the ns430 🙏
But that's so much work...^^
Open F10 map and let's go
Great tutorial thanks.
Great stuff! One question, what cockpit texture are you using? I like the brighter green/blue color. Default seems pretty dull.
Mine is standard, but the standard may have changed over the last few months.
