Yeah she should have gotten out of the way and let them tase him. Instead she became the reason why he punched both officers. They shouldn't have let that man drink so much in the first place. They all got drunk and hella stupid. I normally don't agree with the use of deadly force, but in this case it was justified. The man knocked one officer unconscious and then knocked the other down. That would have been a self defense shooting even if they weren't cops.
Before the body cam footage was released, the family pressed charges, went on tv, and their pastor said they want to charge both officers involved. I wonder if that includes the unconscious officer....then body cam footage came out, and nobody was charged. It shows how people lie to look good and gain sympathy without evidence
We keep saying it, body cams are *good* for officers to have. Protects them in a lot of cases where there would be only the word of the family to go off of.
His friends or family are hanging on him when he got instructed multiple times to put his hands behind his back, and meanwhile he's being aggressive to the police. It would be more concerning if they DIDNT react like this. Humans are not naturally rational. They just saw someone they know and love get shot. That’s incredibly traumatic, even if it’s justified. People cannot be judged for screaming/acting irrationally after something this traumatic.
Every single screaming guest trying to "help" their drunk friend made his death an inevitability. He was calm at first when speaking with the officers, but their constant bargaining and hysterics riled him up because they gave him the impression that he was entitled not to be restrained and their distressed screeching made him feel like he had to rush the cops to defend them. It was ultimately his own actions and decisions that led to his death, but his friends and family did him zero favours here
At the end of the day you're in control and always have a choice. Most women seem to think another man's emotions should and can be regulated by others. If that guy wasn't raised to think he needed to be disarmed emotionally, this wouldn't have happened.
