Microtransactions is what ruined 2k's rating for a sports game for YEARS. It's frustrating to know 2k could be so much better if they stop using majority of thier resources for online and pay more attention to every aspect of a full priced sports game. Some people don't care for the cheesy pay to win online modes and is tired of getting lackluster innovation to the offline modes compared to the online. Even then, some of the "NEW" online modes are just heavily monetized money grabs to tempt you to by more VC. However, 2k25 is worth buying, BUT only when it's on sale. There's definitely fun to be had on this game and 2k did improve on certain parts of the game, but not for full price. Gameplay is AMAZING probably one of the best EVER compared to previous 2k's. The graphics on the player models actually do looked improved this year, and not just a walking bucket of more sweat. So I can respect your review of 2k25, but personally for me its a 6.5 out of 10. Yeah there have been different systems to come out after the Dreamcast, but nothing was more fun than NBA 2K. We can’t compare technologies, we’re just talking about pound for pound, fun for fun.. many of us haven’t had as much fun since that Christmas …and we’ve owned all the NBA LIVEs and all the NBA 2Ks. It’s probably the best next gen 2k and that’s not saying a lot because they have all been terrible. 25 feels like a actual real game that they said let’s actually put out something playable of course with our micro transactions. It’s definitely not worth $70 bc you are gonna have to spend $50 on Vc.
I’m born in 95 and been playing 2K since the early 2000’s and I don’t consider myself an old head so you’re definitely not. Lol Old head is like 80’s and back. 😂
Since 2K13? Old Head? I Wouldn’t even consider myself an “NBA2K Old Head” and Ive been playing since 2K5 Which had Ben Wallace on the cover, Stephon Marbury on the Knicks, And A 20yr Old LeBron James at an 88ovr. I’ll never forget being like 5 or 6 yrs old playing 2K5 Franchise mode on my OG Xbox, About to win this close game against the TMac Rockets, I was up 1 point with like .7 seconds, They had no TOs so they inbound the ball at the other end and Tmac heaves a full court bomb to beat me, Still have never seen anyone especially the CPU hit a full court game winning buzzer beater in 2K since 😂
They took away player control online and if I knew that beforehand I wouldn't have bought the game. That is the only mode I played on 2K for a long time now. They're only catering to these MyTeam and Park players and that's b.s. The new dribble mechanics are great imo and it seems like that was their main focus. The game feels good, but I would've enjoyed it more if I were able to play player control.
@@JSmith-kh4vo I only played player control a few times it’s definitely going towards my career/my team bc those are money makers and that sucks the gameplay is the best I’ve seen since 2k16 17 as far as fluidity and overall focus on hoops
Ngl I literally see no difference in the graphics, KD quite literally has the same scan as last year, and the courts haven’t looked real since 2k16, also the jersey physics have been out of the game since 2k15
I guess I'm really an old head because I have been playing NBA 2k games ever since the first game came out in 1999 on the Dreamcast when I was around 21-22 years old. I was also a big fan of NFL 2K and MLB 2K and I hate that both of those games got discontinued. I know it was EA purchasing the exclusive NFL license that did in NFL 2K but I don't know why 2K stopped making baseball games.
I'm yet to buy my first ever NBA2k game. This one seems like it's the one. However, a part of me still says just wait for the next one. The one that won't be on PS4.

I love the new dribble with left so you mainly just use right to shoot with.. my fav 2k so far... early review.. 2k 26 will bethe same game, probaly just a little more added and more polished up version. So waiting is good unless the changes they make ruin that version... wich usually gets updated out. Its a solid game if you wanna buy it. But if ya wait thats good too. 26 should be a better game. I bought nba 2k25...... i havent found franchise mode yet... i typed in youtube "2k25 no franchise mode?" and this comes up. i really hope this explains how to get to it, or says there is none so i know never to play it again havent bought a 2k since 2k14.
It’s probably the best next gen 2k and that’s not saying a lot because they have all been terrible. 25 feels like a actual real game that they said let’s actually put out something playable of course with our micro transactions. It’s definitely not worth $70 bc you are gonna have to spend $50 on Vc.
Definitely the best next gen 2k
I'm super glad you liked it
It was great
I love it.. you can actually use Bigs
I’ll never forget being like 5 or 6 yrs old playing 2K5 Franchise mode on my OG Xbox, About to win this close game against the TMac Rockets, I was up 1 point with like .7 seconds, They had no TOs so they inbound the ball at the other end and Tmac heaves a full court bomb to beat me, Still have never seen anyone especially the CPU hit a full court game winning buzzer beater in 2K since 😂
The only one nba game left, what can I say?
Guys I'm new to basketball, should i buy this as my first basketball game?
@@lilsaeed1354 I would say if this is your first go around maybe in November/December just in case you’re not a fan you don’t lose quite as much money
I’ve been playing since 2K15, am I an old head?
Ngl I literally see no difference in the graphics, KD quite literally has the same scan as last year, and the courts haven’t looked real since 2k16, also the jersey physics have been out of the game since 2k15
Max kellerman/iggy reference is great
Fate of the universe on the line I want Iguodala
You're not a oldhead. I've been playing 2k since 2k6 on the original xbox.
Dang true Old head
I guess I'm really an old head because I have been playing NBA 2k games ever since the first game came out in 1999 on the Dreamcast when I was around 21-22 years old. I was also a big fan of NFL 2K and MLB 2K and I hate that both of those games got discontinued. I know it was EA purchasing the exclusive NFL license that did in NFL 2K but I don't know why 2K stopped making baseball games.
Can you get to level 40 on the pass playing mycareer games??
Most unrealistic thing about nba 2k24 is KDs line up
just me or was cam reddish great on play now in 2k24
One of those random guys that’s just filthy in 2K
I didn’t know ppl still bought this game full price
Only idiots like me 😂
2k like many companies are beyond greedy for the product they release.
I'm yet to buy my first ever NBA2k game. This one seems like it's the one. However, a part of me still says just wait for the next one. The one that won't be on PS4.
@@ImRural if you’re on next gen I’d recommend getting it if you’re on current/last gen I’d say hold off
@@McArthurM I'm exclusively PC. They finally moved the proplay stuff to PC which is great but the fact this game is also on PS4 just tells me they're still cutting corners. NBA2k26 here we go!
Is there actually no player control on this game like Im hearing?
This reminds me of when 2k14 came out.
Big difference from 13 ps3
@@anastyindividual7946 lowkey yeah just wish the big change came sooner
@@McArthurM i hear u on that
its here now so we should just enjoy it
Aint no way this is an honest review. you said the graphics are WAY better than 24 and thats just plain wrong
and the only negatives being no licenses for players and microtransactions 🤣 yeah right buddy
2k24 is terrible the worst game In a long time
Dude really made a review after playing 5 hours... Bro... This game is a trash heap. Feels like I'm playing in quicksand compared to older 2k games. It's so slow. The shooting is god awful too.
190k just to get to 85 is still way too high for me and unacceptable.
That’s facts I don’t disagree at all I said inflation for VC is insanity
@@McArthurM i‘ll wait until a big sale, thanks for the review!
@pooPbutwhole I think you’re very smart for that I’m glad you enjoyed the review I truly bought it at launch to make this video
@@McArthurM all good man, glad you‘re enjoying it so far
No John wall is brutal I need him, also they nerfed 2001 ai but like zero other legends
I hate the lack of legends in eras/all time teams
Wat camera view do yu play on bro
Usually 2K
T4! 💪🏾
I’ve been playing since NBA 2K3. So I’m an old old head 😂😂😂
Real old head
@@McArthurM 😂
Are the cutscenes 60+ fps? I cant watch that on my oled. 30fps was too choppy and torn
I’m not sure exactly but from what I’m seeing it’s leaning towards 30 fps
@@McArthurM ughh, thank you
@sasquatchmedia9504 sorry bro I hope I’m wrong
@@McArthurM no worries, thanks though
This game is so bad to many animations you have no control can’t snatch back keeps going forward when u stop
Stop telling people to buy them start saying RENT THEM!
Bruh why I gotta be MP again tho fr.....like let me pick my nickname ffs, new year same MP why, its lazy af they dont wanna record other voice over lines haha
@@stickyone11 that I can agree with MP is lame 😂
Man 17 was the best 2k on last gen 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
@@thatschuy 2k17 had some great things and then some very poor/mediocre things for me The player models looked odd my favorite of last gen is 2k16
@@McArthurM I feel that I got into 2k16 park late before the shut the servers down but 17 was my first actual park experience long term wise but I agree bc I do hear everybody say 2k16 was goated if they turned them back on I would jus play those 🤣🤣
You lost me when you said the gra on hics were the same as real life. They're good but you're gkazing with that one. They gotta be paying you
Thank you for this
Of course man gotta keep it real 💯
God I feel so old
@@troy4692 😂
damn my first 2k was 2k7 with garnett on the cover i think
Finally a review that is focusing on gameplay physics. I have played basketball since NBA Live 96 :D
2k has now had a monopoly for the past decade and last 3 years I have not bought, because the gameplay physics have gone worse then previous titles. Ohh boy, I think I am going to get it this year thanks to you :)
Appriecate you I’m really glad you enjoyed the review
Just the murderous microtransaction alone is enough not to want to buy this game.
Great vid man
Thank you so much man I’m so glad you enjoyed it
This guy makes me feel super old
😂
Bought the game today eh same game shotting is still horrible players can’t fade stand up shooting 3s no bend in the hang time .this game was basically made for just driving to the basket .
i bought it for only $7 but no online.. but its ok.. i do not play nba2k online 😁and its on steam before i forget
Its 30% off right now is it worth it?
30% I’d say definitely
I’m just not gonna play, if I can’t doll my player up and make everything pretty why even play, and fuck supporting the microtransactions of 2K.
What $70 since when it's like $250 dollars plus all the VC just to build your character 🤦🏻♀️ oh plus all the energy drinks and the rest of it Hall Of Fame $250 All Star Edition $170 Standard $130
Bring back lebron path to greatness best story mode and so nostalgic.
That mode was legend
The animations were decent on 2k24 until the update
@@MillionDollarLuxury true I didn’t buy 2k24 until after that update I hope the Devs leave this game alone
@@McArthurM lol good luck with that wish my friend 😂😂😂
@@MillionDollarLuxury fr I know better than that
A lot of people say that until the first or second update comes out then it’s screw 2k
The first quote is all of us 😂
Real talk 😂😂
Appreciate the review but playing since 2k16 ant no "old head" OG...fall back with that fantasy. We're not in Narnia, son.
What would yall rate 2k25 so far ?
Solid 7/10 from me
$76 after tax 😂
Fair
Lol 2k old head 😂 dawg you don't even know about the savior pose on Dreamcast. But good vid
😂 appreciate you man
Job well done bro
I appreciate you I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I play offline modes nba era's is the best feature i think online in basketball games is stupid
I won't be getting NBA 2K25 not because the game is considered good or trash it's because I'm not a every year get 2k type of player the only ones I played in like a two year span is 2k16, 2k22, and 2k24. The only sports games I considered getting yearly is NHL and MLB The Show
@@jaylenbarnes2.079 I can’t blame you one bit I still see 16 as the goat of 2K games
Thats what i do too. My last 2k was 19. I bought 23 on sale monrhs ago. Now i just bought 25 and i love so far. You got more fluidity with movement, response seems faster. You can run out of bounds easy wich is realistic if y9ur going that way. Should be... taking a break and waiting few yesrs is the way to go.. Even me im dumb to buy game bran new... wait for sale. I got nba 2k23 for like 10 bucks. And it felt new to me cuz last was 19... thats how ya save money.. have to not have the temptation to play the newer games tho..
I guess my big thing is it worth $70 for just mycareer? Like it’s all I play lol
Same. But sadly the show is pretty much a copy and paste game now also. RTTS is just as barebones as it was in 2017.
@JazzyJeff910 On MLB the Show I mainly just play Offline Play Now, Francishie Mode, and sometimes play Diamond Dynasty it's pretty fun, and I'm not really a RTTS player but I try it every now and then
dude you have to buy a level for the frames behind you jesus
He give me salesman vibes 😅
Bro is really playing the game in broadcast!?
Only way I'll play this game is if it becomes free like 2k24 😂 other than that I'm good I got plenty of other games to play
2k24 was rubbish. i got good feelings about this one, but this is the last chance
Definitely a major improvement
@5:02 Thr first My Player started in 2k10 not 2k11
But if I remember correctly the first official MyCareer was in 2k11 correct me if I’m wrong
