Players still will develop, just that the progression of most of them will be slowed down, regression might hit some players harder, and teams will become less insanely stacked.

My favourite 2k from the last couple is probably 2k21. Game felt smooth and the defense was the best 2k has had (for an offline standpoint) the interaction with the ball and players were natural and had no clipping issue
To be honest, the VC thing is great. Last two 2Ks I just throw it on the TV while doing work or on my PC and let it just simulate the whole game, gives 1100VC per game.
