I worked at the Atlanta O-I Plant 10 for 34 years, my brother was there 16 years, my father for 38 years, my aunt for 10 or more, my wife for 29 years til forced retirement because of plant shutdown, and finally my two nephews with 5 years combined. Our family has the record for combined years of service at that Plant, and now that it's no longer in operation, that record title will last forever. Bittersweet closing.

Congratulations to you and your family. I worked there as a floor sweeper in the Summer of 1960 or 61, I can't remember, and I addressed my foreman as Mr Horton all summer long. He never corrected me and I finally found out Horton was his first name!. McWhithy or something close, was his last name. After Georgia Tech and the US Army I was trained at Bridgeton, worked at Fairmont, Toledo, Brockport, Streator, Valencia, Venezuela and North Bergen. Departed from this good company at that point as COL was out of control. Fortunately things worked out well, returned to Atlanta to work for Mead Packaging. I will never forget my old friends with Owens Illinois. It is a fine company with a lot of fine people.

Infinitely recyclable. . .unless your waste collector or municipality stops accepting it because recycling glass is deemed not worth the effort. Very unfortunate.

I'm taking back of my next of KINs corporation! You the new ceo that replaced Albert Stroukin, are really messing up!
If I get into trouble by you, I will consider it RETALIATION.
I'm a third generation glass house worker and the son of Burl Gary Smith Sr and the younger brother of Burl Gary Smith Jr, prefered being called Gary.
Next of KIN by which as from West Virginia as Michael J Owens is from.
Y'all should of known my Grandfather Earl "SMITTY" Leonidas Smith. He worked there until the closing in '68 in Marion County, Fairmont, Wv.
5ft 2in tougjest man Y'all would ever knon.
