I'm sure you are planning to replace the camplate & quadrant bushes in the casing. Can you detail precisely how they should be positioned in the casing holes to allow for the rubber o-rings on the outer end of each hole? When I did mine there was no guidance on this and seems the washers under each bolt are not in good contact with the o-rings, so they seep oil constantly.
I'll certainly be checking those bushes, and definitely replacing the two O ring seals, but I'm unsure yet if I'll replace the bushes themselves. I can provide dimensions/depth of insertion etc. though, if that's of any use.
@@Chris.rooke150 Yes, it would be useful...also length of the two spindle bolts to ensure I have the correct ones. My issue seems to be the bolts stop/hit bottom in the spindles before the washers under their heads are fully in contact with the rubber seals. A gap is visible from the washer to the outer surface of the casing. Oil seeps out there. Either my bolts are too long, or the bushings I installed are not position correctly, deep enough into the casing...which means the spindles get positioned too far towards the outside of the casing holes, and fully seated bolts are off the casing surface.
Would also be useful to know if the bolts can be removed with the camplate & quadrant staying in place in fully assembled GB, so I could attempt to fix this without needing to take GB apart again.
So the two bolts holding the camplate and quadrant in place are both 1/2" long, measured from under the head. I think they are both a Whitworth thread, taking a 3/16" Whit spanner. You should be able to remove and replace both in situ without a problem. As to the depths of the bushes etc I can't currently tell you as the casing is away being vapour blasted. Good luck.
The bush coming out of the high gear is a known problem, I have had the same issue, on the last/later models they fitted a circlip to keep the bush in place, I would have fitted a new high gear with this mod during my rebuild but they were unavailable at the time, so I fitted the longer later bushes with a high strength Loctite, it seem to be working now signs of metal in the gearbox oil to date.

That's really useful info John, many thanks. 👍
