  • There are half a billion dogs living on the planet. This number is more or less the same as the population of Russia, the United States and Spain together. Near 400 million of these dogs are homeless. Why do we love dogs and why do dogs love humans?

    I looked at the comments and I was amazed to see such negativity and I assume it was because this was a video from Russia. I found their city dogs amazing and the fact that the people in the city see them as part of the city with the rest of the people. They had some very good information about dogs intelligence and the way they think. Not every joe bag of donuts breed hybrid's wolf dogs in Russia. Primarily it is the military who use them and breed them for a specific purpose. They have bred some amazing animals. Dogs and wolves are still closely related, they are still one and the same, only certain traits have been manipulated. It is not like an ape and a man. Man did not evolve from an ape. Who ever believes that has been brain washed by Darwin theory and atheist. I was a young women when they sent those dogs into space, our country has done far worst. Did you not notice the dogs came back, just like the human astronauts. Those dogs were trained first before being put in those capsules, just like the astronauts. They called them mongrels and we in the states call them mutts, they were tough little mix breeds who did a job well done. This is a good video with some very good information about dogs. Too bad all the rest of you missed it

      Who ever believes that has been brain washed by Darwin theory and atheist. -> Great apes including humans evolved from a common ancestor. Homo Sapiens evolved eventually from early humanoids. Modern humans are a hybrid. Anyone outside of Sub sahara Africa has up to 3-4% Neanderthal genes or more, East Asians and SE Asians has some Denisovan genes and other unknown contributors as well. That's why we look quite different from Cauasians and age at a different rate as well and have slightly long intestines.
      Funny how you mentioned wolves and dogs are the same. Yes, this is largely true as the divergence is fairly recent. However, the differences are more than skin deep. Some dog breeds are known to digest carbohydrates way better than wolves.

      Your observation about the myriad negative and humiliating comments is spot on. Whereas, Darwin's theory never proposed that human have evolved from apes, infact he suggested common ancestory. That figure which you might be referring to in which it is shown a continous evolution of human from other primates is just a media thing and has got nothing to do with the actual "evolution by way of natural selection" theory from Charles Darwin.

    • @MWhaleK
      @MWhaleK Год назад

      Humans didn't evolve from any existing ape, with simply share common ancestors with them and in fact humans are apes taxonomically speaking. Also, Darwin's theory of evolution is central to all modern biological science and medicine.

    • @biosnap_art
      @biosnap_art 2 года назад +1

      @@frials4757 @dustinfisher29 what @Anotherthez is saying is that if agriculture has existed for only 12.000 years and dogs evolved from wolves maybe 35.000 years ago, it sounds like the documentary claims that humans started to domesticate wolves 100.000 years ago which is not possible...
      I think is just bad writing: is not clearly explained that it took dozens of thousands of years between that one single wolf (probably a mum wolf) 100.000 years ago having a eureka moment of "Hey, guys, these humans' leftovers are not bad at all. Can't we just let them live tonight and eat their leftovers for a week?" to humans, in general, accepting a pack of wolves eating their leftovers in the proximity of their camps.
      Then, also took at least 40.000 years for humans to change from hunter-gatherers to settlers which also meant for the wolves to abandon their wild ways and evolve to be able to stay warmer and safer near the humans instead of roaming free. THEN only then we can start to talk about the domestication of dogs (20.000-15.000 years ago, maybe) when they were already dogs.

  • @biosnap_art

    WTF are wolfdogs doing in an Urban Dogs documentary!? It had to be Russia.... Breeding wolf dogs is a crazy practice. It is as if because humans come from an Ape ancestor (which has long disappeared like the wolf ancestor of the dogs did) you'd purposefully mix Humans with modern Apes to have Ape-Men soldiers to guard your frontiers 'cuz "they will be stronger looking, humans". And because of these studies showing wolfdogs puppies being cute for a second, you have idiot humans thinking they "CAN" have a pet like that in the patio:
    "It took many thousands of years for humans to selectively breed canines for the traits that make modern-day dogs such delightful companions (...) It is simply impossible to instill these traits in a wild animal overnight (...) it is largely un-trainable - since it does not care much about pleasing its owner. And as it grows into adulthood it becomes unpredictable, especially around children and small animals. (...) You need a certain knowledge base to be prepared for them, you need a secure fence and a quiet and legal location, and they’re not meant for kids or home-protection, nor can they be used as working dogs." Shaunalee Mckean
    And most of the time these poor animals end up abandoned by the same owners exhausted from trying to cope with their wolfdog's needs:
    - Huge land to be (forget about having a cozy garden to chill for the family),
    - Very high fences with deep foundations 'cuz they'd jump high or dig deep down to roam free,
    - Raw (expensive) diet with a lot of real meat in it.
    - Human "pack" company is not enough, they will need another wolfdog companion for a "pack" or they will be anxious.
    - You cannot have a regular dog as their companion, it can be accidentally killed by your wolfdog.
    - They are not able to create the same strong emotional bond a regular dog can have with her owner.
    - They will have more sharp and longer teeth than a dog, so they will cause damage even if they are only playing.
    - Endless hours of daily socialization their whole life or they will become isolated and dangerous.
    - Training them to walk outside the house with or without a leash in urban areas is nearly impossible.
    Some of these wolfdogs will be very confused animals because they are expected to behave like pet dogs but is not in them to be fully trained (or tamed) and yet they cannot live fully with a pack of wolves because the dog in them is not prepared for the wolf life... Is an animal with no clear place in this world. They have created sanctuaries for them in some countries but usually, they end up abandoned and dead by starvation or killed.

      Wolf dogs used to be unavailable to general public. They were bred for specific purposes and kept in professional hands (to search for drugs as they had extreme sense of smell) Technically, those were not wolf crossbreed but shakal F1 crosses. But the things might have changed since, unfortunately.
