    It is not safe to put canned drink with dry ice because it will explode. When you transfer dry ice, you should not use air tight cooler to avoid explosion

      I think it should only be fine with beers , That’s why they showed beers in video .

    I can tell you from first hand experience that this can also carbonate many foods which should never be carbonated. It makes for some very odd flavors one year my brother was pretty pissed when we ruined his ice cream cake.

    But does it actually freeze anything besides it jus making things cold?

      Hi Joseph, the primary use of dry ice is to keep products frozen (dry ice is -78oC). If the food/drink product is in close contact with the dry ice it will certainly freeze. To just keep a product chilled, use only small quantities of dry ice and place more packaging material between the dry ice and the product.

    what if the dry ice sublimates?

    • @4seeableTV

      All dry ice eventually sublimates. If it's a small pouch like in this video, and you're opening a closing the lid from time to time, everything is fine.

    can we deliver ice creams in this

    • @polaricedryice
      @polaricedryice  3 года назад +2

      Hi Sumal, yes dry ice can be used to keep dry ice frozen during transport. Note that dry ice should be transported in a separate compartment to the driver cab as CO2 can build up in enclosed spaces over time.

    Is it safe to store in same container as a pitcher of a beverage that’s not sealed? More specifically, will the CO2 mix with the beverage and make it toxic, or will it be safe?

    • @polaricedryice
      @polaricedryice  3 года назад +2

      Hi Travis, thanks for your message. CO2 is a non-toxic gas, it is only a potential asphyxiant in larger quantities in confined spaces (readings of 5000ppm or greater) when it can displace the oxygen over a period of time. The dry ice (solid CO2) will not have any toxic effect on beverages in a cooler. Ensure to never place dry ice in airtight containers and only use a small amount of dry ice if you wish to cool the drinks - if the beverages are in direct contact with dry ice or you're using a larger quantity of dry ice then it could freeze them - important to note if using glass bottles as they could shatter if the liquid inside expands.

      You can store any types of food and drink in a cooler with dry ice. Only use a small amount of dry ice to refrigerate the products and place some insulated material (e.g. card, paper, bubble wrap, etc.) over the dry ice before adding in your food and drink on top of it. If you use larger quantities of dry ice or place food/drink in direct contact with the dry ice then it will freeze it.
