    Even in the winter, Possums would eat the heck out of those Persimmons here in Australia, they are savage! 🤣

      @@gabriella2682 yeah the possums here in Australia aren’t opossums, they’re bigger, very noisy, a little vicious, but still very very cute

    I hope you leave the other one for a few more weeks. I love it when dried persimmons get that layer of powdery sugar. It's even more delicious.

      no, the white thingy that was covering dried persimmon is not yeast. It was crystals of natural sugar that was produced by the persimmon and it's a sign that the persimmon is dried

    Persimmons are delicious. My oma would pick a ton of these and dry them out and give them to family members.

    우리집 옛날에는 곶감 많이 만들어 먹어서 밖에서 보면 베란다 창문이 주황색으로 물들여 있었어요ㅋㅋ 완전히 마르기도 전에 많이 따먹어서 실제로 아주 잘 마른 곶감은 몇개 못 먹었어요 너무 맛있겠다ㅋㅋㅋ 옛날 생각나네

    I peel and slice 1/4” and dehydrate. Delicious! The variety I have is Fuju, it’s like an apple. The heart shaped ones can be bitter until after a frost. Probably more varieties than the two I know.

    please leave the other one until it's complete ly dry and coated with white powder of sugar. The texture will be more chewy and the taste is very intense. delicious!

    Had the semi dried ones in Korea and it is so good. Never knew so much work went into it

    We slice them, then spread them and dry them in 3-4 days.

      Raw ones have the texture of a tomato and taste really sweet and dried ones are supposed to have a chewy texture and taste similar to pumpkin.

      Just ate one earlier very subtly sweet and yea it feels and is basically a tomato that is a fruit

      the dried ones are really sweet, like dried figs or dates (not quite as sweet as dried dates but still), the ones I had were drier than those in the video but they're still soft compared to other dried fruits. they're really good. I don't like persimmons that much when fresh but the dried ones are like fruity candy to me

    Do you only use astringent types of persimmon for this or can you also use non-astringent ones? Also, when exactly do you pick them? Because if they fully ripen on the tree, they are jelly all the way

    What did you do at first? Peel the skin only then put it in boiling water before hanging it and letting it cure?

      No, if you have a ripe one it tastes almost like a cross between mango, honey, apple and papaya imo. If you have it unripe your tongue will feel fuzzy

    Did you use 'astringent' (idk what theyre supposed to be called) persimmon? None of the ones I fond around here are sweet at all, but I'd still really like to try this

    Why Not Just Put It In The Over For a Few Mins. On The lowest Setting, And The Over Door Cracked. That Away Bake Them, Just Adding A Lil Heat To Help Speed Up The Drying Process.

    Ever tried an American persimmon? They are sour. We make pudding (more like a doughy cake) with them and it's delicious

      Dried persimmons are made with the sour kind only, actually. I don't know why he used the ones usually sold in supermarkets that are for eating fresh. These ones don't get as sweet when they're dried as the sour ones do.

      didnt have to do anything to avoid bugs and birds, its fairly cold outside at the moment so there are almost no bugs about. and the birds didnt even touch it

    I think your 꽃감 needed more time ㅠ as far as i know the real 꽃감 actually gets pretty ugly compair to the store bought once which are still orangey. Let them get brown with white "dust" (crystallized sugars) on them and THEN you have the real 꽃감! They are sooo good! Keep up the great work in teaching korean methods

    I know you might not see mold but there’s mold there it forsure will make your immune system stronger but it’s better to use a dehydrator for the job for people who don’t have a strong immune system.

    can somebody ANYBODY tell me how to properly eat a persimmon because all i’ve been getting are mouthfuls of tart, waxy, bitterness and so I thought hey these might a little too ripe so I waited and waited until they were covered in brown spots and still no luck, at this point I think i’m allergic 😵‍💫
