Are you just interested in food or did you study food science or something? I'm intrigued by how many food projects you have with all the fruit syrups and sanitizing glass jars and whatnot :D
no, the white thingy that was covering dried persimmon is not yeast. It was crystals of natural sugar that was produced by the persimmon and it's a sign that the persimmon is dried
When he dipped the Persimmon in the boiling water using a string it reminded me of that one scene from the animated Disney Snow White where the witch is making the poisoned apple lol
I peel and slice 1/4” and dehydrate. Delicious! The variety I have is Fuju, it’s like an apple. The heart shaped ones can be bitter until after a frost. Probably more varieties than the two I know.
please leave the other one until it's complete ly dry and coated with white powder of sugar. The texture will be more chewy and the taste is very intense. delicious!
yo where are the hundreds of comments talking abt how they were gonna go moldy/get eaten by birds or insects?? where that energy from the last video go? crazy...
the dried ones are really sweet, like dried figs or dates (not quite as sweet as dried dates but still), the ones I had were drier than those in the video but they're still soft compared to other dried fruits. they're really good. I don't like persimmons that much when fresh but the dried ones are like fruity candy to me
Do you only use astringent types of persimmon for this or can you also use non-astringent ones? Also, when exactly do you pick them? Because if they fully ripen on the tree, they are jelly all the way
@@SICresinwrks nooo it makes your tinge feel fuzzy, like dry and full of cotton almost. Also it gives you a bad tingly, almost itchy sensation. You defo don’t want to Ty an unripe one 😂😭
Did you use 'astringent' (idk what theyre supposed to be called) persimmon? None of the ones I fond around here are sweet at all, but I'd still really like to try this
Why Not Just Put It In The Over For a Few Mins. On The lowest Setting, And The Over Door Cracked. That Away Bake Them, Just Adding A Lil Heat To Help Speed Up The Drying Process. P.S. Love Your Vids, Plz Dont Ever Stop Sharing!!!
Dried persimmons are made with the sour kind only, actually. I don't know why he used the ones usually sold in supermarkets that are for eating fresh. These ones don't get as sweet when they're dried as the sour ones do.
didnt have to do anything to avoid bugs and birds, its fairly cold outside at the moment so there are almost no bugs about. and the birds didnt even touch it
I think your 꽃감 needed more time ㅠ as far as i know the real 꽃감 actually gets pretty ugly compair to the store bought once which are still orangey. Let them get brown with white "dust" (crystallized sugars) on them and THEN you have the real 꽃감! They are sooo good! Keep up the great work in teaching korean methods
I know you might not see mold but there’s mold there it forsure will make your immune system stronger but it’s better to use a dehydrator for the job for people who don’t have a strong immune system.
can somebody ANYBODY tell me how to properly eat a persimmon because all i’ve been getting are mouthfuls of tart, waxy, bitterness and so I thought hey these might a little too ripe so I waited and waited until they were covered in brown spots and still no luck, at this point I think i’m allergic 😵💫

Even in the winter, Possums would eat the heck out of those Persimmons here in Australia, they are savage! 🤣
Good for them! I loveee opossums. Cute lil guys
@@gabriella2682 I've never seen or met an opossum, but our possoms here is Aus are different and while they look cute...are very noisy 🤣
@@gabriella2682 yeah the possums here in Australia aren’t opossums, they’re bigger, very noisy, a little vicious, but still very very cute
I hope you leave the other one for a few more weeks. I love it when dried persimmons get that layer of powdery sugar. It's even more delicious.
uhm
isn't that yeast that makes that white cast over them?

Persimmons are delicious. My oma would pick a ton of these and dry them out and give them to family members.
I grew up eating fresh Persimmons and now I want to try drying them myself
I love persimmons. I was surprised to find a lot of people don't know they are edible where I live.
I love ❤️ 😍 persimmons very much.
What do you do about animals? I'd like to do this here but the squirrels pose a threat 😂

Had the semi dried ones in Korea and it is so good. Never knew so much work went into it
We slice them, then spread them and dry them in 3-4 days.
Have you tried making the older ones that get the powder coating?
Thank you for sharing I had no clue .. would it best to do while not fully ripe or ripe?
Thanks for the follow up.

I fuckin love persimmons
Your view is so beautiful😊
W the heck do you not have many birds in the area really curious now
Add cheese with it 🗿
Okkkkkkkkkkkk....
Dry age persimmon
Does sun-dried persimmons tastes different from dehydrated in a machine persimmons?
What do they taste like? They look good
Same I’ve never had one. They look good.
Raw ones have the texture of a tomato and taste really sweet and dried ones are supposed to have a chewy texture and taste similar to pumpkin.
Just ate one earlier very subtly sweet and yea it feels and is basically a tomato that is a fruit

What did you do at first? Peel the skin only then put it in boiling water before hanging it and letting it cure?
I always have trouble picking persimmons. I always end up with bitter ones, which makes me sad. 😔
More ☀️
Nice fruit treat on your last day in Korea.
How would you describe the flavor of a persimmons?
Like a tomato with an almost raw pumpkin sweetness and flavor
No, if you have a ripe one it tastes almost like a cross between mango, honey, apple and papaya imo. If you have it unripe your tongue will feel fuzzy
@@duckyO.o now i want to try an unripe one🤣

You'd have to do that for quite a while if you don't want to cook the fruit and that can be pretty expensive
Waste of fuel
Are these similar to apricots?
What other fruits can you dry like this? 🤔
I was looking into why they don't make spray can peanut butter for humans and its odd that they dont.
말린감 꽂감
Try making a dessert wine with it
Can you tell me what kind this permission
the insides look like sapodilla fruit.Which is my favorite fruit.
Gin & Rangiku (Bleach) favourite food
Should go with some musk ox cheese and shallow belly ice wine
dude gonna shit himself. you're not supposed to eat the skin cause it's a powerful laxative.
Another man made fruit
Persimmons are known as Amarphal in India...just sharing
Seem nice 😊
It's fruit like chiku in india
No signs of mold
*glosses over black spot inside the fruit*💀
all jokes aside it’s probably fine
Its natural color. Its black when its ripen.
곶감 사랑해🤍🤍🤍
Чувак, на нём мухи 🪰 сидели 😖
Do you not have fruit flies there?
Ever tried an American persimmon? They are sour. We make pudding (more like a doughy cake) with them and it's delicious

How did those persimmons survive being out like that, I was fully expecting them to be ridden with flies by the end of the drying project

I tried this with 10 persimmons this yer. and within 5 days they all grew mold. despite me going ALL THE WAY on disinfecting them

Don't remove the skin
It’s the traditional way to do it though.
try some butter and salt with dried persimmon. super great with wine
