Don’t you feel dirty promoting a rip-off product that American made Peak Design has been making for YEARS and that was very likely made using forced labor? Even if Ulanzi doesn’t have a factory manned by Uighur prisoners, they are partially owned and controlled by the brutal communist regime that uses forced labor and all sorts of abhorrent practices? Buying ANYTHING Chinese only strengthens that regime and funds these disgusting behaviors (i.e. one child policy, imprisoning people for their religious and political beliefs, etc) IS SUPPORTING those behaviors! It’s one thing, MAYBE, to purchase products from China that were 100% devised, created and designed in China but buying products that are blatant examples of intellectual property theft from American companies, sold at cheaper prices because of communist government subsidies, currency manipulation and forced labor practices, is a bridge TOO FAR! For me, anyway. This video seems shameful; but maybe you don’t know better? Now you do! #freeHongKong #supporttaiwan #buyamericanwheneverpossible

Peak Design has had these from at least 2013. Excellent way to carry a camera. Especially at events. You put your camera where it's in-sight, doesn't just hang loose, and you can lock it too, so it's not just pushing a clip to get it off quickly, and your hands are free for other things for a bit (eating?). I still have the one from 2013, and haven't had issues with the screws becoming loose.

I have the Peak Design Capture Clip which is $20 more but allows for one handed release with a bit of practice and doesn't come loose in my experience. A comparison review would be cool.
Wasn't Peak Design the very first to come up with this capture clip system like a decade ago? I would gladly pay $20 more to get the original Peak Design than those Chinese knockoffs.
@@victorinoxs honestly not sure but i appreciate how much R&D they seem to put into their products, but I'm still too cheap for their tripod -- sticking with accessories 😎

But honestly the biggest problem with the Ulanzi claw mount system is that 1. It's heavy. And 2 there is no padding whatsoever on the backpack mount. It's extremely uncomfortable and it feels like you have a metal plate pushing into your shoulder from your shoulder strap. Because you do. They really need to redesign it.
Glad you finally got your hands on the F38! Mine has held up great and I use the whole system with the quick release plates on my gorillapod and full size tripod as well. Makes carrying around my already lightweight a7c even easier.
For your GoPro/DJI I put. Small paracord loop around the shoulder strap just above the chest strap so it wont slip down. I then fed the closed tripod through the built in strap you have higher on the shoulder and then down to your paracord loop. In my case with a black diamond pack I was able to hike and run with it facing forward and you can also lift it out when you want it. You can also add a tether if you are worried about security again depending how your pack is set up. Obviously I only have a view of your pack while you are sitting but looks similar enough. The caution is that you have to be careful taking pack off and on but with the big camera on there that’s a given anyway. Hope that helps
Peak Designs is great and when I run a larger lens or heavier combo they do a pro pad which will either give you more rigid bag strap or you can attach the propad to your belt and use the clip like it was on a strap.....
Strap is a terrible solution for someone on a scooter or moving aggressively around but it's the ideal solution for someone moving at a more sedate pace. It offers two benefits: 1, ability to use hands for other things provided you don't have to lean forward and 2, safety net if you should drop the camera while holding it or have it knocked form your hands somehow. But the clip is nice and does suit your more active approach to shooting and life in general. Agreed on the you asked vs they asked distinction, too. :-)
Best way to carry a camera that never swings. Wear a front button down shirt. Open the buttons from your neck down to a button or two above your belt buckle. (Be sure to tuck your shirt in). Then with the strap around your neck put the camera inside your shirt behind the two buttons that are still closed. Makes a nice little 'pouch' to carry your camera. Does not stress the neck nor swing side to side. Hands are free. Easy and cheap.
I use a similar clip from Peak Design. This is really a nice way to carry a camera. Only problem I see with Ulanzi one is that you have to have a tool to tighten the arca-swiss plate to the camera. I would have changed it to D-ring/D-clip screw so I can use it without tools.
@@rusparmesan I just looked further and apparently theres something called the Peak Design PRO plates that do have a d-ring and they would be compatible with the ulanzi one because they're all arca standard
I just upgraded my all my QR plates and bases to the f38's - I haven't tried the backpack strap clip yet though, as I'm never wearing a backpack. What sold me on the (costly!!) switch was how low-profile the f38 system is compared to the Manfrotto RC2 system that I was using previously. The RC2 was just obnoxiously high and that was becoming a real problem on my RS2 gimbal. Also, one killer tip on the f38's: they make 3 different plates. Get the ones with the additional camera retaining plate as it ensures your camera cannot rotate on the plate! They only sell it as part of one of their bundles (might be the RS2 baseplate combo), so you have to buy separate baseplates and camera plates with the retainer. It adds a few extra $ to each set you need, but well worth it imo.
It getting loose over time is likely why some others are more expensive. I've had the Peak Design version of this for about 2 years on 3 different backpacks. That thing goes on tighter than the grip Pentax has on the camera market. The screws still suck to tighten though.
Can confirm. Using a Peak Design Capture Clip for 3 years, it is actually amazing and I usually hate paying for stuff… can release camera from it with one hand due to the release button placement. IThis one looks more awkward to release.
AND ITS AMERICAN DESIGNED AND MADE! No forced labor, communist subsidies or currency manipulation to artificially lower the price and (intentionally) hurt western manufacturers. Peak Design rocks! 👊😉
Best bedtime videos. I use a Peak Design strap and love it but yeah, too many straps when I have my backpack on, and then the wires from my earplugs. So the red light come out of the closet of mystery? Skin colors look good in this video
Why not use the Peak Design clip? It’s the one Ulanzi is trying to rip-off and sell cheaper through all the underhanded and disgusting practices that go on in China under the repressive communist regime. Just sayin.
I personally think that it would be much better if it were Star Wars themed. Like the shirt my cat threw up on that I would have sent you to wear on your show, but noooo, not good enough for YOU... I'm a sucker and I still liked it.
Hey Kasey, a tiny dot of loctite on the threads will stop them winding out - should be able to get a little bottle from an automotive store. That'd sort that, unless you are removing the bracket from your bag strap regularly. Using Loctite will also avoid you over-tightening the screws and damaging the thread. I want to get one of these - was looking on Aliexpress for one the other day :) Ulanzi looks like they make quality kit.
For wildlife lenses or even something a bit smaller, I'd recommend a Black Rapid shoulder harness. They make a couple of different ones with different widths of strap. They even make one for two cameras (so does Peak Design). The one-camera models go on the opposite shoulder like a sling bag, so you're balanced and it's less shoulder strain. I can carry around a FF body with 150-600 lens on it all day, even with a backpack on top of everything. But for a smaller kit, a clip-on like that one looks good. It looks like you have to use their QL plate though and I use L brackets for tripod mounting. There's always a hitch.
I make my own camera straps out of 550 Paracord. It’s long enough to hang on neck but it’s really designed to be wrapped around hand. I use peak design connectors and a cinching knot to connect the two.
@5:26 My Peak Design clip also unscrews, so duct taped the screw so it can't turn. Longer screws also help, if available. Expensive (& dorky) but less bouncy/unbalanced: harness.
One drop of blue thread locker on each bolt (purple if you’re weak handed) and problem solved. I tiny tube of thread locker is a MUST in my camera bag.
Nothing builds confidence in your camera strap like the comment... These kind of loosen over time. My $20 USA gear padded shoulder strap has a couple of pockets for memory cards. Hanging across my shoulder diagonally with the camera upside down and one metal screw connector in the bottom, it's right at the spot where my fingers grab the grip but it's weightless hanging there. I just swing it up to my eye and then swing it back down and I really enjoy it. Happy shooting!
Lock tight on the screws and I wonder the release button needs to be a purposeful act if not your expensive camera will hit something and the ground or waterfalls will take the camera from you.I love your vids and your skits are out of this world like I said your a genius.
Need an Olympus (or om digital solutions) dedicated t-shirt. This will literally and visually elicit a visceral response against a mirrorless reflection of an environment essentially embracing the resonance of connecting emotionally. Where I vlog I need to always put my gear away when not in use. I’m tethered to wrist straps and camera straps for security. My system allows for storing camera in bag (out of site) while still strapped to my person. Thoroughly enjoy your channel.
It also straps to a belt not just backpack. Or any other thingy you may be wearing, like a female purse or some thing :) Replaced my PD stuff with F38, way better and i can the F38 plates and QR clamps on tripods, monopods, etc.
I don’t prefer neck straps either, but I definitely don’t prefer backpacks so I usually end up just taking a sling bag, pouch, or carrying the camera naked
I used these clips from another company (the benchmark) and with a heavy lens like a 24-105 f4 it will still dangle while hiking. The only solution I found which even works with an Ninja V and a big lens are the Cotton Carrier Scouts (either of them).
It's probably okay for a small camera, but I wouldn't trust my $5000 setup on a cheap, imitation clip. For my A7S3 setup, I would still use my Peak Design strap, just because I know its not going to break and send my expensive camera crashing to the concrete.
@@cameraconspiracies I wouldn't trust the Peak Design one either. It's just too much money hanging there. All it would take is you accidentally not clipping it correctly, and you are out $5 or $6 grand. With a cheaper camera, no problem, but I wouldn't trust my A7S3 on anything but a quality neck strap. If I was going to use one, I would get the belt attachment option and hang it from my belt. Peak Design makes a belt attachment option that will work with your clip, but you need a thick belt. There is always something.
LOL Never mind that. The only time my camera has ever hit concrete was when I knocked over a $500 tripod and it went from eye level, straight down on the front element of my Sigma 24-70 lens. The protector filter I had on it smashed into a thousand pieces but (scuff marks aside) everything else was and still is perfectly fine. And that happened because my arm got caught on the effing CAMERA STRAP! LOL
Thanks, for introducing me to this product and making this video! It would be nice if the quick disconnect for this product was compatible with a standard Manfrotto tripod quick connect plate.
This is interesting. I was just looking for something I can use with my camel pack when I'm hiking. I can't find any molle camera bag attachments, only a molle camera backpack, which doesn't work cuz they don't have the water reservoir in them that makes them camely. Do you think that the location you put your camera with that hooker would be annoying overtime? Bumping into your arm or unsafe for intense hiking?
I have noticed that the backpack clip is suddenly unavailable (as of January 11). Perhaps Peak Design decided to somehow force Ulanzi to withdraw theirs from the market. it seems all the other Falcam F38 components are still available, however. All the Falcam F38 products I bought seem to be working fine, since I bought mine in late 2021.
I know this video is kind of made for craick, but I find strap very useful for stabilizing the footage - especially for combinations like g7 and 25mm lens (both no stabilisation). I think I would combine strap with this yoke, cause dangling part is annoying, that's a fact. Obviously you need camera bag anyway. Also you would need to wear backpack all the time... I guess that's not happening in real life (I don't wear it ever) :)
Kasey - what's the maximum width strap it will fit? Ulanzi don't give any measurements on their website. Maybe you could oblige us with your tape measure skills?
Another awesome video.. I love watching your vids even if I dont care about the item in them haha 👍🏻 I know this may seem like a pointless comment but bare with... I have many rucksacks for my hobby of this channel and one of them is a Talon 33L by Osprey. Now I know that is a 'hiking pack' and would prob be too big for your gear etc but you can get smaller versions. Also I know by now your slating this comment in your mind not wanting to know about my piece of s... hiking pack 🤣 BUT... just wanted to tell you about the little pocket on the left strap as thats where I slide my Ulanzi MT-09 into. Maybe there is a camera bag or other rucksack with the feature? 🤔 Anyway thanks for reading the comment keep up the awesome work bud. Greetings from accross the pond 🇬🇧 ATB... Chris ✌🏼
They thought about the balance issue. And they figured two would only balance you out until you took one off to shoot a picture. Then back to the lopsided feel. (Until you put the camera back on )
I tend to use a camera strap to improve the stability of my camera by applying tension to the strap while I'm shooting. Can't really do that with this solution. Of course, if I had a camera with in body stabilization I wouldn't need to do that. But, my Lumix G7 can only provide stabilization through a lens with OIS.
peak design do a one handed clip, and it’s secure too.. costs 7 million dollars us though… you can’t afford it… i can… i can’t… i’d like to.. nope, not me… i’d buy it.

Oooh, and Arca-swiss compatible too... Interested! Clicks link... Oh... $ only? Whose dollar, US or Canadian? Not that it matters to me with my £... Off to Amazon and Alibaba then... sorry Kasey!
Do they make a phone case with the arca swiss plate on the back ...like your talking about doing with your DJI? I could use a gopro cage with one too. I don't want to peice a bunch of gopro frankenstien screw mount shit together. If not, do you want to help me invent one?
There is a belt flap from the big company that a load of money for the same type of clip. Use that and you can put it on your hip very comfy. Alternatively you could fold a piece of belt and attach it to you belt and then clamp the holder on it
If you have a gopro mount to tripod ( that you mount on the dji osmo action cage ) you can screw it on the ulanzi plate, right !? ;) or tape it around your bag :p lol
It's called CREEP, the strap material creeps out due to the bracket thingys constant pressure and being harder. That is why it loosens up or it's just garbage. Use some Purple loctite on the screws and report back if I'm right. For G sake don't use Red LOL
Your backpack strap IS too thick. It is much better to have a piece of band sewn to your regular strap and to attach Falcam F38 to it so that screws could go all the way through the holes. If it loosens over time it WILL let go at some point. Also you have to remember to fasten the quick release plate very tightly. I did it once too lightly and with pendulum movement the camera have just unscrewed form the plate. My Leica's 10-25 mount just broke off as it falls on the ground with GX8 attached. Luckily rest of the lens was OK. This problem is particularily pronounced with long front-heavy lenses.

Smart choice! I love my PD clip AND all the products I’ve bought from them. Their camera strap is amazing!
first worl solutions... that wouldn´t last 1 block to get mugged in my country XD hahahaha love you videos
I use Cotton Carrier and it’s awesome for big or small lens. Just a happy customer.
Missed this channel
Ok I’m in. Definitely getting this
Very entertaining and informative. Thanks!
Just what I need for my Trip to Perú! 🙌🏻
I love how your just transitioning to a wildlife photographer. 😂
He is killing it today
\
its wildlife videographer. photographers are loosers.
Since when do you have the DJI Osmo Action? Did I missed something or did you messed up with the order of the videos? 😅
I used it discreetly in the Mitakon 135mm review :)
Lock tight on the screws and I wonder the release button needs to be a purposeful act if not your expensive camera will hit something and the ground or waterfalls will take the camera from you.I love your vids and your skits are out of this world like I said your a genius.
This is possibly the best video on RUclips ever, you have peaked ! may your demise be slow 👊
For your action cam, grab one of these - "Sametop Backpack Strap Mount Quick Clip" - Works great, but has a huge flaw, you'd love it!
You always make me smile... :) Peace x
🤣 ok…i only subscribed because this is the 2nd video of yours that made me laugh. idk how th i came across your channel.
Did you already try the v2 version, perfection i think
It also straps to a belt not just backpack. Or any other thingy you may be wearing, like a female purse or some thing :)
Replaced my PD stuff with F38, way better and i can the F38 plates and QR clamps on tripods, monopods, etc.
Nice wig , funny and educational. Your a very good cameraman and a comedian. Double wami.
I don’t prefer neck straps either, but I definitely don’t prefer backpacks so I usually end up just taking a sling bag, pouch, or carrying the camera naked
OK at the nudist beach, but I'm not sure how you are faring with law enforcement in cities...
Well that escalated quickly
@@shawn5210 I figured it would 🤣
I should get this for my GRiii…massive empty backpack, pokey outey GRiii on my strap. Yesssss.
Ahahahahah " Do they sell bandaids?" 💀
the ulanzi claw can but used on your backpack and on tripods and it locks
What do you think about the Spider holster slim clip? It attaches to my belt or event sport running shorts in a pinch.
This is all metal, it would never break.
@@Panotaker You're paranoid lol. Thing clips in automatically, I trust my a7s iii no problem.
5:18 "it's not worth complaining about" but I will ...
Good price is right. Locktite for the win.
Damn you for making me want something when I have no money in the bank. My credit card company thanks you and your affiliate link.
"If I need a screw I'll kill you..."
Taken out of context 😳😂🤣
I know this video is kind of made for craick, but I find strap very useful for stabilizing the footage - especially for combinations like g7 and 25mm lens (both no stabilisation). I think I would combine strap with this yoke, cause dangling part is annoying, that's a fact. Obviously you need camera bag anyway. Also you would need to wear backpack all the time... I guess that's not happening in real life (I don't wear it ever) :)
Kasey - what's the maximum width strap it will fit? Ulanzi don't give any measurements on their website. Maybe you could oblige us with your tape measure skills?
Mine is 2.5 inches wide and it was a tight fit.
@@cameraconspiracies Thanks for that. Mine is 2.75" so not looking promising without a change of bag...
Another awesome video.. I love watching your vids even if I dont care about the item in them haha 👍🏻
I know this may seem like a pointless comment but bare with...
Anyway thanks for reading the comment keep up the awesome work bud.
Greetings from accross the pond 🇬🇧
ATB... Chris ✌🏼
You're awesome!... Did anyone ever told u that u look like the male version/twin of Scarlett Johansson...
How can you not know about Peak Design?
I've been using the Peak Design one for a while.
Oh I need that.
"I'm fired" 😂
You ordered the wrong Ulanzi mount system. If you would have ordered the claw system, it has interchangeable mounts for your camera and tripods...
Post the AFFILIATE link now! What's that mirror you used wth your P40 phone? You too good for 37 cents?!
www.camiror.com/
It’s been fun watching you progress from filming ravenous squirrels on the attack while dodging certain death on the mean streets of the city & calling photographers LOSER into whatever this is ... I still have hope.
Oooh, and Arca-swiss compatible too... Interested!
Clicks link... Oh... $ only? Whose dollar, US or Canadian? Not that it matters to me with my £... Off to Amazon and Alibaba then... sorry Kasey!
It might be awkward but could you use this on your side with a belt?
Try putting it above the backpack buckle
Do they make a phone case with the arca swiss plate on the back ...like your talking about doing with your DJI? I could use a gopro cage with one too. I don't want to peice a bunch of gopro frankenstien screw mount shit together. If not, do you want to help me invent one?
Brilliant as always 🤣
So you're saying this whole time I could have just used a SHOELACE?!? #mindblown
There is a belt flap from the big company that a load of money for the same type of clip. Use that and you can put it on your hip very comfy. Alternatively you could fold a piece of belt and attach it to you belt and then clamp the holder on it
I don't wear belts, I'm not 90 years old.
@@cameraconspiracies 😜
I glue my camera to my forehead before I go out. Always prepared for the shot.
Also works well on a belt.
I wonder how well would this work with a tele lens.
It held that Mitakon 135mm beast. I don't know about the Sony 200-600mm lol.
How’d you not know about the peak design clip?
Your backpack strap IS too thick. It is much better to have a piece of band sewn to your regular strap and to attach Falcam F38 to it so that screws could go all the way through the holes. If it loosens over time it WILL let go at some point. Also you have to remember to fasten the quick release plate very tightly. I did it once too lightly and with pendulum movement the camera have just unscrewed form the plate. My Leica's 10-25 mount just broke off as it falls on the ground with GX8 attached. Luckily rest of the lens was OK. This problem is particularily pronounced with long front-heavy lenses.
