I got the nebula awhile back thanks to you and it has been the answer. Really solid, and I appreciate the advice! Also, I bought a glove to hold it xD might want to consider one. I've considered wrapping the base with a boxing wrist wrap to keep it comfy (while still allowing it to extend if necessary.) The glove seems to work best for now though! Thanks again!
I ordered the Nebula on Amazon through your affiliate link. I noticed that it's intended for use with home projectors, but it LOOKS like the one in your video. There had better not be any discrepancy in said affiliate link. Otherwise, there will be harsh words posted here that will likely have no effect anyway. By the way, I'm a long-term fan.
I know you've been waiting with bated breath, but no harsh words--the affiliate link worked fine. Yes, it was originally designed for Nebula projectors, but you can use it for everything Camera Boy explained in his video.
I was standing in microcenter looking for a phone tripod and I couldn't tell what was good. So, as a long time viewer, I searched your channel for a review. I'm glad I did, I ended up buying your recommendation via affiliate link. 👽👍
I’m glad you mentioned the Joby Gorilla Pod. I bought a couple of these for my classroom for table top photography and animation. The quickly became difficult to use an unpopular.
Damm, every time I watch your vid, I keep wanting more. Not just because there's solid info to be had, but really I can't stop laughing and having a blast with the humor and self banter. You are a GOAT!
I bought the Sirui based on this channel, and have found it brilliant for my desktop shooting as it's a so stable because of the extra weight but still useful when shooting with the SL2/3 - the additional weight acts to counterbalance the heavier camera. Mind you I'm a sucker for the anodised aluminium look as well.
😂😂😂😂 you are soooo funny!!! It was hard for me to pay attention at the beginning cause I need “more action” (adhder 🙋🏻♀️) but your jokes about the “guy who has travel the world” got me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am an ultralight long distance hiker and vlog my hikes on my channel. My needs tripod wise are different and I generally go for the lightest option I can find that is capable of securely holding an osmo action. I own 2 of those Ulanzi models, and yes... They ARE glorified gorillapods. Entirely too heavy for what they are... I am currently using an Ultapod 2. It doesn't offer the reach that you desire, but it is extremely ultralight, and strong enough to support a small action cam for those walk away shots and for getting timelapses. It's also has a velcro strap so u can mount it to things. Thanks for the content. Your channel is one of my favorites. 😁
I haven't even watched more videos from your channel and I've already subscribed. Thanks for this video, I needed a good overview of compact camera tripods and you gave a VERY informative and entertaining delivery. Very glad to use your affiliate links too.
Dude! This is the first video to make me genuinely laugh out loud in a long time. When you said "made in China, that's what you want." I've enjoyed a bunch of your videos! The topaz one, different camera companies compared and now the mini tripods Great work man. Your videos are funny and informative!
The joby gorillapod fell apart on me after several months of moderate use. So THANK YOU for saying it lol. Glad to know it was not just me that had problems with it
Thank you so much for making this in-depth video Kasey - now I can throw out the crap I bought and get the right tools for job. I am a long time subscriber from your early Vegetable Police days... You're still the funniest and most gentle man on RUclips. Peace 👽
LOL! Such a candid review - love it! Awesome last name btw, very cool. Thanks for your review. The comical approach had my belly chuckling - nice work :-)
For anyone considering the Sirui 3T-35, it should be noted it has a couple of other interesting features that aren't mentioned here. Of course, it comes with the quick release plate ball head, which is Arca-Swiss compatible. I find that to be useful because you can quickly switch between a mirrorless camera and a GoPro or any other device. Plus, the entire center column can be removed so that your camera can be mounted directly on the tripod base, which puts your camera extremely low to the ground or table top surface. That can be an advantage in many situations where you don't want your camera sitting up high. The tripod also ships with an optional non-telescoping center column. You can switch between this rigid column and the telescoping column depending on your needs and how light you want the tripod to be. The tripod legs also have strong magnets built into them, which clamp the legs to the center pole when you fold it all the way up. Finally, the mounting base is convertible between 3/8 in and 1/4. You simply unscrew it with the included allen wrench and flip it over. It comes with the 3/8 in bolt in place, which fits the heavy-duty ball head. However, you can turn it around to reveal the 1/4 bolt. This means that you can switch out the ball head for any type of ball head you like, including a much smaller and lighter one intended for use with an action camera. In essence, the Sirui 3T-35 is quite modular. This is something that isn't totally apparent when you just look at it on Amazon or something. it isn't until you get it in your hands and start using it that you see how much it breaks down and how all the parts can be switched out. An advantage to the Anker Nebula might be that it is lighter as shipped. But if you happen to have a small ball head lying around with a 1/4 screw hole, you can attach that to the Sirui instead of the one with the quick release plate and that makes it a much lighter tripod for use as an action camera grip and selfie stick. I also like that the Sirui 3t-35 sits very squat when you extend the tripod legs. The tripod legs extend out at a very flat angle, and I prefer that over a standard tripod which has the three spindly kind of legs sticking more straight up and spaced wide apart. The Sirui looks less intrusive because of its squat design, and the legs tuck underneath items that are sitting on a table or on a bed more easily. With the legs sitting flat like that, it's also much easier to place heavy items on top of them to hold the tripod in place if you are worried about stability. Just thought I'd toss out these random thoughts for anyone that might find them helpful. 🙂
You will DELETE me from the internet but i have to tell you: Hot Shoe vs Cold Shoe It is called “hot” because it has electrical contacts that let it send signals from the camera to your flash. Meanwhile, a cold shoe is a receptacle that in many ways, looks exactly like a hot shoe. But the difference is that it often doesn't have any electrical contacts to trigger a flashgun.
Thanks to this review, I'm going with the anker tripod. Hopefully it supports the weight of my beastgrip pro and the lenses. Never knew they made tripods until this review of mini tripods so I thank you.
At 14:04 I nearly had a heart attack with the tripod leg dangerously hanging off the edge. I see another fellow sufferer of TAS ( tripod acquisition syndrome) and I approve! Though mine tend to be the thrift store variety. Nothing better than an NIB JcPenny Tripod for $3.00.

Secret club raptilien people has the perfect tripod but they keep it away from him because this advanced camera mounting technology is not meant for human kind.
I am biased towards the flexible Ulanzi. It’s a bit heavy for hiking, but I love the versatility of it. There ain’t a place I can’t put that thing. On wet slippery rocks, on trees, inside a shallow stream, you name it.. it stays! It’s sturdy in various condition. I don’t see why people glorified the breakable gorilla tripod. I’ve used this for 3 years I think and the legs are still remarkably strong. For the length, I just get a selfie extension, which adds more weight to the whole setup.
Thanks for the review. Got a Ulanzi MT-16 for my osmo action and it works great so far, super light and compact. See what you mean by not being suitable for a mirrorless though. I tried it with mine and, well, no. Great little tripod though. Anyway thanks again, always enjoy your videos.

You will DELETE me from the internet but i have to tell you:
