I was preset at Stadio San Paolo when Napoli cliched the 1990 Scudetto... I was an American Sailor stationed at the support base only about 2 miles from the stadium.. I attended perhaps 40 games across 4 seasons living there. The giant "corteo" burst out of the stadium and joined the huge crowd outside and marched all the way from Fuorigrotta to the Royal Palace, along the famous waterfront. A memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.. I even ended up on the regional RAI affiliate newscast - they were quite curious about the 6'6 blond american decked out in all azure blue with scarves, facepaint, jersey, and HUGE flag. I sort of towered over the Neapolitans! LOL

This is the problem in Europe, everyone spending like Chelsea 500 million, and the team is so, so, it is not how much you spend, it is the function of it, buy good players, good scouting, I can tell more, but the Humble team is making the difference, and this underrated coach yes, he works for years in this way, now he deserves to win the league, and perhaps Champions League, we’ll is not easy but this is a story like Leicester.

Chelsea spent 700+ mil euros my friend, and God knows how much to bribe UEFA officials to allow them to do it! And Napoli is NOTHING like Leicester, who were fighting for relegation and became champions due to whole set of circumstances. Napoliare amongst the Top15 european clubs for 10+ years, participating in UCL in 12 out of the last 14 seasons. Plus, they'rehistpric club where THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME PLAYED,known throughout the football world everywhere for decades and decades! Leicester doesn't eve come close .
Atalanta is a team that could be compared to Leicester, except they were very close to win the Scudeto few times, but didn't. However, they became well known all over Europe and world for these ,6 7 years, with their ultra offensive football style, a joy to watch club, who, till this season, was in UCL KO stage 4, 5 years in a row!
That's as close as it comes to Leicester, althugh they are away to even that success in Europe to LaDea,who kept on selling players season after season (till this one, when they ended up 8th,so had to invest 70-80 mil,to rebuild, and re n a good way)/ Atalanta established themselves in Serie A and UCL while Leicester were one season wonder with the championship won, and established themselves in EPL. SO, those are similarities,NO WAY WITH A GIANT OF FOOTBALL LIKE NAPOLI, who's been known to 80-yr old people for most of theiir lives!

Paolo even back in87-91 that I lived there I realized very quickly how corrupt the system was with the Agnelli/Fiat monster and Berlusconi Media Monster able to buy ANYTHIGN THEY WANTED. I Have respect for Juve of the earlier than about 85 era. Once Diego showed up and they won the first title, the Northerners began colluding to do ANYTHIGN to keep those damn Terroni from ever winning again. Every game I saw at San Paolo they opposing teams were constantly trying to injure Diego. They couldnt stop him any other way. Add in the brilliance of Careca, and some key support from Alemao [also a shout to local boy Ciro Ferrara] they showed they could outplay almost anyone. That is undoubtedly when Agnelli/Fiat began rapid descent into the darkness of deepedt hell - and began to buy off officials, FIGC commissioners, you name it. And the reversal of that Calciopoli verdict was another case of them being able to buy their way out of trouble.

Kvaratskhelia isn't going anywhere, and when it comes to Oshimen... A.D.Laurentiis said it well:"Yes, we don't have as much money as some clubs, but remember,Napoli also has 0 debts. abd we wanna keep Victor fr a long time!"
That meas they gonna try to use that new law in Italy which states that if a foreign worker/player is essential and has family spawned in the country, the company (this case, the club) don't have to pay 100% taxes on his wages, but far less. In this case, that means he's preparing a new deal for him, to raise the wage from 4,5 mil/season to 7 or 8. Of course, the out of control clubs like PSG, M-City, Chelsea, Man-U... can offer him 12,15 easily. So it all depends on the by,whether he wants to sell himself so young (24), or would like to remain at Napoli, where his whole family is happy & loved (he had his daughter born there) and build something special for the nest (at least) 2, 3 years and become legend first, the go for the money in EPL (like Koulibaly). That;s why yesterday he stated: "At this moment,I DON'T CARE ABOUT MAN-U or CHELSEA, I ONLY WANT NAPOLI. WE HAVE A CHANCE TO CREATE SOMETHING TRULY SPECIAL WITH THIS CLUB.I HAVE A CONTRACT AND IN THE SUMMER WE'LL SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN! WHETHER I'LL CONTINUE OR GO..."
Plus, today's Gazzeta article stated that Napol have already started negotiation with Atalanta to buy Hojlund this summer, and leave him in the club to continue develop for one more season! Now... that tells you a lot about what Napoli is planing to do and which route to take for the future!

Kvaratskhelia is not going anywhere cause he has a 5 year contract and is about to renew it and Osimhen won't necessarily go anywhere as we are one of the few clubs with no debts in Italy and don't have to sell so unless an outrageous 180mil ish offer comes along he is staying as well. On top of that no, we do not like De Laurentiis at all, well, some of us don't, as he does not spend enough according to a part of the fanbase as he is very interested in making sure our finances stay in the green every year.

Appropriate since the city was the capital of the old kingdom which covered basically the same area. As mentioned, it is a family/community oriented club/team.
