Rebecca , you really don't need all that to make compost tea . I make it year round in 30 gallon trash cans & 5 gallon buckets. I just fill the container about 1/2 full with weeds , then fill with water & stir . Put the lid on & stir every few days . I let mine set a few weeks to months on a rotation , then strain .
It creates a wonderful liquid fertilizer & very cheap & yes ~ it is stinky !!! If you have Comfrey to add , that is even better .
Your method is great for fast compost tea .🥰

I just cut my comfy leaves in a bucket, fill with water and let it sit for a while! I've never seen such a compost contraption. I guess it makes it faster. Glad to see Rebecca feeling better.

The aeration helps the microbes reproduce faster and consume the sugar medium (usually molasses) so it's ready in 24 hours. When I had a garden (Carnivore now so eat meat only), I did the weed method as well, same as yours but any weed/plant that my chickens wouldn't or couldn't eat went into a covered bucket of water.

Just aerate your compost tea by stir it every couple hours..! that’s what I did back in the 1980s with my compost tea!

I just add a few inches of compost to a 5 gallon bucket of rain water and let it sit for about a week. Much less complicated!

Another, a perhaps better way to boost soil health is to add worm castings and inoculate biochar with worm castings. It a lot simpler, requires less fiddling with additives and bubbling etc.
you all have so many things to manage already, worms require very little time and attention.
Once I harvest my worms castings I add biochar- you can buy 100% wood charcoal, crush it and add it to the castings and the nutrients will be in that biochar for a really long time.
You do not have to make your own biochar, although you could, it’s not expensive.
It will take some time to create the castings and you could actually use compost tea to inoculate biochar and add that to your soil for a similar result.
Check it out. Lots of info out there on the web, go for the simplest. Lots of people want to make it very complicated.

It must be hard jumping through all the hoops of trying to be self sufficient but also constantly buying supplements and minerals that have no business being in north Carolina or starting gimmick projects every week. It would be amazing to see one day an inspiration that leads to figuring out how to work with what you have instead of seeing something on social media and buying the thing right then and there without a thought. There are definitely ten ways you could have aerated compost tea without needing a trip to lowes and you definitely could have just figured out what fitting you needed while at lowes.

I used a old pillow slip and filled it with Chicken manure then had it sitting in a 50 gallon water barrel with a lid. Would water plants with it, worked out nice.

Get eco-friendly washing sheets for your laundry. They really do work. I personally use Earth Breeze brand and 💕 LOVE them. Just a thought for your new laundry room and machines and waste water pipes. So they don’t get all gross and gummed up with detergent. Also leave the washer door open after use so musty, mildewiness doesn’t build up.

You can grow Comfrey and steep your own tea from Comfrey plant then you don't have to buy anything. Self sustainable compost tea!

Don't over think the compost tea, you do not need a fancy contraption. If you want to have it "bubbling" for aeration then keep in mind the deeper the container, the more powerful of an air pump you will need. For a 5g bucket, a cheap USB powered air pump off amazon for ~10 bucks, and it comes with tubing and an airstone if i remember right. Another option is to put a small water pump in there that will stir it and keep all layers oxygenated by mixing and helping to create more turnover at the surface. For food, its simple they need a sugar / starch / carbohydrate. Anything from raw sugar to corn starch will work well enough. A little goes a long ways. For the bacteria colony, you can add some livestock manure, or get some powdered soluble bacteria & fungi. Like i said, don't over think it. Its not magic, its very simple.

There is something called antibodies shot (But it is man made and a lot of times actually can make symptoms worst), the shot for T Vax does not actually take affect for 14 - 21 days after receiving which if she got tetanus would not help her at all in the current state, it is also filled with heavy metals which stay in the body even after receiving and does not filter out, that's how they get them to "last". I suggest reading an insert.
But Tetanus does not live in an oxygenated environment, which you want the wound to bleed after contact and that's one way to know you are safe

Although the likelihood of infection is lower in the USA, because of lowered prevalence of the bacteria due to vaccination, living on a farm puts her at a higher risk.
Your information provided to bleed the wound is misleading- it’s is akin to sucking venom from a snake bit- it is an ineffective folk remedy.

Just because you homestead doesn’t mean you have to love living in 700 feet with 5 kids. Homesteading is a lifestyle of self sufficiency. Not vowing a lifestyle of poverty all the while flagellating themselves with whips. They have worked hard to get to this place in life. This new house is a result of a lot of discipline. They have those extra houses on their property. Did you know he had another family living in one while they were preparing for a lifestyle of self sufficiency also? And when their friend Bri’s marriage was struggling they let Bri and her 7 children live in another one of them. And Rebekah’s elderly parents live in one also.

So if you've been watching them for yrs then you know that this is actually how the FAMILY works and provides income & food for not just his family but has other families come to the farm learn how to plant & processes food.. This is an investment they are also putting forward for their kids.. Again maybe his kids look miserable to YOU because they aren't infront of video games & phones.. That's what most of us has come accustomed to seeing now days with not just our kids but people in general.. They work on a farm they work with animals, they are not going to be clean & church ready for their videos.. Those kids are learning valuable skills that most adults couldn't or wouldn't be able to do! That's a huge family, it's is craziness daily to do chores, schools, ect. Maybe your not from a big family, but there is 7 that live in my home.. There is no slow days here, it's always something going on.. From cooking to school, practice, dr appointments, dentists appointments, work, home, laundry, cleaning, yard work, shopping .. That's just a regular house! No farm no land, only animals we have is 2 cats & 2 dogs!! You are most definitely right, my dad always said everyone is entitled to their opinion, like A$$ holes we all got one. 💁‍♀️
