Love the build and truck! Crazy how much more you have to throw into a 5.9 compared 4th gen 6.7 to get HP. Running a 12mm pump, s478 borg, 150% injectors, Allison 1000 68rfe conversion transmission on my '18 Laramie. Tuned to 1000hp+, I don't wanna window my block. GOD BLESS CUMMINS!!!!
Here I thought Cooper was going to show us what the “Shaft Master” does best. Now I have to wait lol. Should be some good smooth power with that set up!
He doesn't have to show us, we all already know he is the most knowledgeable {cam}shaft handler at DPP. -Ben
@@DieselPowerProducts that he is!
In it's current state, looks like getting power to the ground may be challenging.

Stock turbo is a 60 compressor, 60 turbine
First fifth 👊🏻💪🏻
Soooooo…….question: if I can’t put a twin turbo in my 06, what single large turbo with a second gen exhaust swap would you recommend. Thanks
I can't u compound ur 06? My first compound kit was he351/s475 on my 06
It’s not that I can’t put twin turbo on…. It’s just out here in Cali smog shops I hear our siting people with TwinTurbo’s Or I’m not allowing them to smog. Anyone out there in Cali with TwinTurbo’s?
Question, before I get too far into this... Wouldn't the SMOG inspector ding you for a 2nd Gen swap, since it moves the turbo and uses a different exhaust manifold? Of which required a CARB number? Plus, you would not be able to us an intake for your year of truck, which would be another issue with a CARB number? -Ben
Have a friend who put on a second gen exhaust manifold swap and kept the original turbo on without issue with smog. Although he and I both don’t think the smog guys new what they were looking at or it didn’t matter about the exhaust swap. With the TwinTurbo I guess that might be different
@@stevenm.hollis4429 I'm not sure if you know the difference between twins and compounds. Twins are 2 same size turbos (twins) getting fed exhaust from half of the cylinders each. They each have an air filter and send boost to the engine.
Compounds are 2 different size turbos in series. Small one (high pressure) gets exhaust first and will spool at lower rpms. Larger (LP or atmospheric) gets exhaust 2nd, but gets fresh air first. Once lit it compresses air and sends it to the hp turbo to compound that boost into the engine.
Don't mean to sound like a jerk, but they are different. In general twins are gas engine setups (because the large rpm operating range), and compounds are diesel (they need the pressure ratio more than mass flow because of the lower rpm).
How do you translate between "% over injectors" versus "150hp injectors"? Also what is the purpose of the cam replacement?
I only ask because I have a nearly identical system on my 06 minus the cam. I kept the stock injectors and cp3 because they were still good. The shop that did the work recommended upgrading to 50% over injectors and a 12 mil pump when the time comes but never mentioned the cam.
120hp is generally around 60% over, 100hp = 50% etc. But it also depends on the injector builder. Depends what kind of fluid they use to test, sometimes they use air, some use hydraulic fluid.
General rule of thumb is double the percent for a horsepower figure. Which is totally irrelevant and a leftover from 12/24v days as a means to correlate
