    Steve is not a Guitar Teacher..... he is a Guitar Interpreter. I've been struggling to play and understand guitar for years. I am very thankful finding this guy by chance.
    I cant get enough of your lessons... they are sooooooooo comprehensive. You have another fan... Cant thank you enough

      I've bought some of his lessons but am a little disappointed that i keep being bombarded with more stuff every day.... Some of the packages seem to double up on stuff you already have as a package. It's a little off putting. I think Dan is the business man and pushes that but I'm sure Steve has his heart in the right place, just it can get confusing after buying one set of programs thinking you have everything the a week later they are telling you we got this and we got that... It made me feel that i had;nt bought the whole package that i wanted in the first place

    Before I watched this video, all I see was a 'box' of one pentatonic position on the fretboard. And within 10mins this guy just unlocked my brain. Awesome knowledge.

    A-C-D-E-G! It takes time to visualize all positions, and be able to link them. One needs always to keep in mind where the root is. But once that is acquired, it is essential knowledge for soloing. Great lesson. Tip: start with pos 1 and 2 only, and fully master these, before adding positions.

    • @ricardo_gfo5174
      @ricardo_gfo5174 7 лет назад +4

      Fabio Punk yes good hint... he is always talki g about the A as root . what if i have a song in key of G and wanna do a solo , i have to play with root G in those scales but the pentatonic shapes always stay the same dhape at same position right? or for example shape 1 can be played anywhere or always have to be played at A ??
      sorry for the confussi g question but im confused also xD ahha

    • @fabiopunk1661
      @fabiopunk1661 7 лет назад +5

      The shape remains the same, you just move it along the fretboard so that the root note falls on G instead of A.

    Steve, I picked up a guitar 2-years ago at the age of 57, and I have made amazing progress because of you! I purchased a Taylor 414ce, after a year, wow, much easier to play. I just want to tell you, I think what I enjoy the most about you (besides sharing your talent) is your professionalism. No doubt you are highly educated, and a great example for young folks. I learned chords, but you make theory bring it all together! Thank you for your time!

    Steve: for THIRTY FIVE YEARS!!! I have been trying to conceptualize this. Video after video, if it didn't just resonate in the first few minutes, I'd get the old " that's-it-guitar-is-just-meant-for-others" mentality back into my mind. Tonight--after another several-years sabbatical from my 37 year-old guitar.....the light bulb came on. I can't even describe the euphoria right now as i blaze (ok--crawl) up and down the fret board. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    I think your gift is that instead of approaching the guitar like any instrument...your use of verbiage and coloring in ideas meshes perfectly with any self-teaching player. Your thoughts are valid in my mind as I am 'figuring out the guitar' instead of 'playing an instrument'. If that makes any sense.
    Thank you. Awesome videos.
