well while i love Honkai impact played it since start of the game and all the thing is part 1 to me was the end after that while i enjoy getting the lore told to me by distinct people i dont like how part 1.5 and part 2 tell the story nor how it goes :/
*slams table frantically* I shall play Honkai Impact 3rd until every story is told and every corner of the lore has been explained and fed into my brain even if it is the last thing I will do
Interestingly, there are studios out there that keep their games alive if they are actually dead and not "dead by random internet metric" so I think it's pretty safe to assume a passion project like the Honkai series will be around for as long as it is feasible regardless of profit metrics.
A certain gaming CEO once said "I think as long as you survive, that's enough right? Love yourself along with the players, love the game and love your own team" it applies to every game you enjoy and love gacha or not
I find it hilarious that some toxic hoyobots label WuWa as "dead". Like bruh, it is 1 of the only 3 gacha games that has ever reached 10M downloads on TapTap. If WuWa is "dead", this means 80% of the gachas on the revenue chart are "dead"🙄
I stand on the fact that none of the other hoyo games would be around with Hi3. It crawled, walked, and ran so HSR and genshin could get become what they are.
@@SpultoBNMTheMutuallyUnrequited Thats true, but the reason why HI3 is the one being preached more is cause it's the game that brought them out of bankruptcy.
Everybody said Hi3 dead since last 2 years and still alive until now😂 Just like Hi3 and PGR, both still alive even everybody said it's a dead games Meanwhile new games nowdays not even live more than 1 or 2 years 🤣
Not the mentions the amount of upcoming collaboration with Hi3 with HSR which connected the the two universe and validated Welt character in HSR(For those who never look up or know about welt origin). Not to mention PGR is having collaboration with DMC5. I'm sure HI3 and PGR are doing just fine.
@@RueRose-rq6ps it's not dead, but "doing just fine" is lying to yourself. Losing half of revenue in just a year to the point part 2 S-rank releases net less profit than many part 1 A-ranks... Yep, that's anything but "doing fine". Still not enough to kill it. But also not enough to make the devs roll back some of the more retarded decisions like S-ranks every update.
I just roll my eyes and ignore those posts, they're made by players who never liked the game to begin with and try to justify quitting the game for one reason or another with the game being dead, you see that in every game community not just HI3rd, the issue isn't them being like that, it's those that might want to try the game reading those type of posts.
@@DrownThySelf Yea, I used to comfortably maintain Agony 3 in abyss even with half built teams. I dropped down to Agony 2 since early Part 2 and only got back up with Vita 😭
@@GABiHatchiiwa Nearly, the same. My previous cycle was: Top Agony III; get sent to Redlotus; get low scores twice; get sent back Agony III. Now I don't get top in A3 anymore and just get around 9th place and below and sometimes get sent to A2. 650 points against Existentialism shouldn't be 13th place... but I was 13th place for that. Damn, SEA. It's either we lost all the casuals and are left with the competitives; every is overpowered with Part 2 comps; or I've gotten significantly worse (I'm thinking it's the last one). Regardless... pain.
@@DrownThySelf Because it's a lot easier to get valk 4/4 now, due to the new gacha system. Like I used to only see 3-4 players with the latest valk 4/4 in RL. Now it's almost half of the bracket. For Vita, almost my full bracket had her 4/4.
As a player that never played Honkai due to storage issues I have been deep into the lore of the game I’ll keep waiting until more is released, since there is so much I want to know about HI3 it’s just weird on why people hate on a game just because it’s old or it’s too much for new players
Btw the game is genuinely incredible. The part 2 changes seems insane and the new battlesuits are fun as hell. And of course, Part 1 story is phenomenal, my favorite gacha lore by far.
@@TheNamelessKaslana btw what is you level of excitement for the up and coming collab, out of 100. im 85/100 in excitement rn, the 15 is because i have other things to do irl so its lessening my lvl of excitement and is giving me stress. but im so ready for this
Great video! This issue really highlights the trend of wishing the worst from games. People should spend their energy championing games they enjoy instead of wishing the worst from games. Even as someone who fell off of HI3 because of Part 2, I want this game to continue to succeed
It's because their fav games don't have PVP/Leaderboard system. HI3 players are too busy trying to stay high in the leaderboards to engage in meaningless conflicts such as these.
@@azimtv7419But most HI3rd players outside CN doesn't care about their own placement in the leaderboards, maybe even CN also has such situation. In community groups like FB, WA, Discord, only a handful of players who cares about their position. Most of em cares for waifu collection, MMD, memes, fan art, etc.
@@diazpramudita5165 Bro that was a joke. I'm trying to insinuate that they since their games don't have PVP/Leaderboards, they have to "compete" with other people via shitting on other games and trying to prove their game is the best. Very few people in HI3 care about leaderboards other than just maintaining Red Lotus.
After building a Vita team and after coming back to HI3 since 6.4, I can't state enough just how much better the new gacha is compared to part 1. I've felt an increasing amount of frustration from missing any newest and greatest units actively punishing me for it, especially their gear, so I'm just glad that they streamlined the experience and cut down the spending by well over half. If anything, I actually actively prefer the new weapon banners as well, cutting out the bait drops in favor of keeping things simple. It also reassures me that any 4★ gear I get is what I want, and for a low spender every single drop matters. While the P2 teams are undeniably way stronger than P1 teams to the point of almost complete obsolescence, I appreciate how little you have to invest in the grand scheme of things because of the way each Valkyrie supports each other. It offsets the powercreep substantially as well, making weathers easier to cover overall. It is comforting to know that my Valkyries will remain relevant because of their sheer versatility even a year or two down the line.
Thelema will easily be meta until we have another timestop valkyrie, and even then I doubt she’d fall out of meta and instead will remain 2nd best. Longevity is looking way better for these new valks compared to some P1’s.
in regards to the gacha oftentimes people overexagerate the so called "power creep" anyways, or how much you have to pull to stay "competitive" here, if you are in CN, sure, you are doomed, followed by SEA which is very competitive, but not as much, and then if you are in NA or EU, its super chill Im in NA, and i personally have held for ages in RL (can go up to Nirvana if i want, but 20 crystal isnt worth the balding, i accidentally promoted with Vita tho), and i didnt pull any part 2 valks until Sonque, and now Vita, and lets be real, Sonque without part 2 supps can't even use AR, i had to use her with Seele+Promy, and still retained RL all the time As for MA, under same conditions, i always retained 2% Rank, which further proves the point Old Valks aren't really that "obsolete", even in an era where brackets are full of part 2 teams
@@Hiken_Bakuzan During my time playing in late P1, I struggled keeping up with abyss because of obnoxious gimmicks or not having the full team slots, and when I was in RL I rapidly bounced back to A3 because I didn't have the correct valks, and the game was strict on them. This aggravated my frustrations way more. Not only is there pressure to build 4 teams, but you also need to readily replace any old Valkyrie with a new one to fit a gimmick in particular to keep up. Part 2 cuts down that spending quite substantially from what I can tell.
@@felixryan9798 That's exactly what I was talking about. Even then, she may or may not be a good support to use in other teams too, so she has a role to fall back on in case she ever gets crept. Hell, what if the new valk uses the old valk in their team? That's what ended up happening to Kiana, to an extent.
I honestly had the opposite happen. I started as a genshin player to hoyo and then picked up HI3 to try their older game after seeing one of the animations. Now it is unequivocally my favorite game im currently playing.
Another thing about PC sales is that on their own client they dont lose 30% of the sales paying platforms like google play or apple store so earnings can be even 30% higher.
Probably because they *want* it to die. Claiming that it already has is just their attempt to create a self-fulfilling prophecy. And what motivates them? Um... tribal warfare, I guess? Because one cannot like two or more gacha games at the same time? Idk, I've always struggled to understand internet tribes.
@@PrincessStabbityPLS yeah, they want it to die, because that make them "right" it give them sense of... accomplishment? achievement? and they feel more superior than the people that play the game, it make them feel special and matter, it's downright pathetic
@@NeroZeroesseriously bro they need to touch some grass, PGR and HI3 the supposedly dying games have been dishing out some of the best Qol features more frequently than most games out there 😂
There's a game that almost got shutdown because of low revenue (around $100k to $400k per month)but the dev change their approach, and kick those Eng VA and choose the Fan service route(Spicy Outfits with Top tier Interactable sus scene😂)and their revenue Stocks📈 earning 2million+ every month the huge revenue they earn around $7million(for mobile only not to mention how much they earn in PC platform)during their 1st anniv thanks to those Wedding outfits + Interectable Sus Scene🤣
I've been playing HI3 since the pre-launch in 2018, and while part 2's story was a bit of a slog that I didn't care much for, NOW it's really starting to pick up and get me very excited after what we witnessed in Chapter 5's current story
So earlyyyy And thank you for covering this topic! It makes me sad to hear so many negative things about HI3rd when it’s really the most immersive world hoyo built :’)
Honkai Impact will never really die. Part 2 story did start off slow but it got better. But also Hoyoverse is too big and HI3 is their baby. Like Tears of Themis is still ongoing and that game is made specifically for husbando lovers. Sparkle’s introduction to the story is helping HI3 plot get more integrated to the HSR plot which is good since HSR is more popular. So yeah HoyoStans, HI3 won’t die.
Until this point, Welt is basically the only true tie-in between both games/stories we've had, so it's really cool that there's another crossover. I saw Sampo on the event art and got so happy. He and Sparkle are literally the most perfect characters to bring into a crossover, such goofy and mischievous ones
Also im surprise that he didnt mention the part 2 story and characters being a problem not because they are since its still good but bc a lot of people are like "bring kiana back, the story sucks and blah blah" not even giving part 2 a chance
Ikr?, Part 1 got all the build up from many chapters and mangas then when Part 2 also start doing build up all they said is that they “do not care about the character” like? Couldn’t that also be applied to Part one at the start?
Part 1 also start off slow with us following the boring chapter of kiana daily school. It picked up the pace when hov revived but that's like 6 chapter in.
i always compare the Kiana situation to JoJo chars AND Goku, i'll explain JoJo main chars arcs end, they can appear (like Joseph not being main char in Stardust Crussaders), but you need to let them go, they are not the protagonist anymore and new stories and adventures will be told But some people simply can't let go, which is what happened to Goku, fans wouldnt ever let go off Goku, which is what made Gohan sell smoke and mirrors for hundreds of episodes without ever doing anything, and when he finally won a fight, he then got sidelined immediately in Buu Saga, making the character roster very very very stale and boring
That conclusion about time capsule really hits. When I played genshin and play hsr, I sometimes get flashbacks to the earlier chapters of hi3. Their games are all polished and concrete from day 1 now, and even though I did dislike the jank as I played through hi3 story, it being the only place I can really see mihoyo grow over time is precious.
Globally it's undeniably lost quite a bit of traction but even starting off it had a worse time than its successors due to anime and gacha games being far less mainstream prior to the pandemic. It did however revolutionise what gacha games could be due to the use of actual 3D models and animations, and not JPEGS or Sprites for characters. In CN the fanbase has essentially never really changed. Currently HI3rd is in a state of limbo where the existing fanbase is very loyal to it but it doesn't garner many new players usually due to the age of the game. If anything any new players may just be HSR players being interested in the story and playing through it to gain a greater understanding of the cosmology or potential future references to Impact 3rd within Star Rail, then deleting the game afterwards due to too much additional content they don't wish get through or burnout from playing through everything. Not many new players stay from what I've seen.
Yea, Hi3 is really good at attracting new players, one of the main reasons being those animated shorts, they were unique and really good, a lot of new players will check out the game just because of those. But Hi3 is still by far the most competitive out of all the Hoyo games, it has very steep learning curves, and I have seen it discouraged a lot of players from keep playing it, because at some point they would just hit a wall, and they realize it would take too much effort.
I'm working at the conventions as a vendor, and I've noticed a growing interest in Honkai Impact 3rd this year, since Mihoyo made joined HoYoPlay Launcher, at least in my country. I believe many people who played Genshin and Star Rail on PC started Honkai 3rd, as the app suggests you to try other games. Also finally the version of the game has much better optimization on PC since the new launcher
Do note, HI3 is never meant to have a huge audience. Similar to GGZ, Tears of Themis, and Punishing Gray Raven, it was made for a small scale audience as their genres are very niche. Hence why the game still has leaderboards and no English Dub. Sure it can receive a huge audience if things like leaderboards and EN Dub us addes, Love and Deepspace proved that really clearly despite being a very niche game, but again it was never meant to have a huge audience in the first place. These games only caters to literal otakus and weebs, similar to Call of Duty catering for FPS players. The only time a small scale game will actually have the modern tactics is if during development they got a huge popularity boosts, and ZZZ is a huge example of this. ZZZ was meant to not have EN and KR dub, like HI3 and Themis, but during Beta and TGC it was so popular Hoyo dexided to add that. Otakus tend to only watch shows either in JP Dub or CN Dub (let's be honest, Chinese Animes (called Donghuas) are insanely good, Link Click and Immortal King is really top notch) hence these games won't have English Dub. And again comparing Gacha, I will always say P2 Gacha is more forgiving especially for F2Ps and low spenders, Homu even says that Whales and Leviathans are also morefl forgiving. When Part 2 was released it was not because they have to make Stellar Outburst a thing, that's why Thelema has the extended time stop and both Senadina and Thelema still works with P1 Supports as P1 DPS, to make it interesting, Songque now uses Griseo and HoRb for Memorial Arena instead of her Astral Ring set up. For new players, you only need these 3 Valks which are Senadina, Thelema, and Vita and you're basically done since they don't have access to Superstring Dimensions. For returnees who already unlock Superstring Dimensions, those three Valks are enough along with old meta like HoHE, Sirin, FoV, and Luna to retain Redlotus. Valks like Lantern, Eepy Teri, and Sparkle are not worth it unless you need a QUA or Fire Valk, then I suggest getting those two. As for Songque Valk, she's a pretty good DPS and future Support, she's the 4th Valk after Sena, Thelema, and Vita for you to actually get.
Hi everyone, im kinda new to Hi3 and i also think the new player experience is not to good aswell. Its hard to navigate what to do and it took me someone from a Hi3 discord to explains what my dailys routine should look like. I also think that modes where you use your own characters are kinda diffecult to find. Like i said i quiet new and dont know a lot but its really hard to get into it and its hard to keep playing :(
Also do i really find it annoying how you build characters in the game. you get a character but to have decent gear for said characters you usually gotta pull more on the banners (atleast thats what i found on google)
Your weekly is only available until you unlock Abyss , Arena , and Elysian Realm. These thing are that give you crystal the most and keep resetting every week , and for abyss is twice a week. And for daily itself its only just keep doing all stuff like using stamina for material expedition , open world , dorm expedition , errand. You can check what activity you need to do for daily in top left menu called "mission". So the best thing you can do as a new player is , keep playing daily , doing stuff from new player content (there is menu at the bottom , the icon is look like the book.), and unlocking all the weekly im mentioned. WARNING for new player dont you ever updating your captain level to 81 (this only happen if you already at lv 80 right know and you have a choice to upgrade.) Tips if you already unlock Elysian Realm : keep playing until you unlock deep sequence and shallow sequence , unlock your key recommended only your main dps that already you have , but im recommending Coralie for doing Elysia Realm , since they gave you fullset equipment , and she is really strong for the game content.
For character building , yes you need fullt equipment for them to get fully functioned , but thats for only used at the best rank at Abyss or you want to having maximum difficult for Elysian Realm that its not your priority , because you can also having maximum reward weekly without highest difficulty at Elysian Realm , if you are f2p dont feel to bad competiting too much for Abyss , since you are left behind 8 years , you are not gonna have a chance , until you finally managed to catch up after having some of new character banner fully equipped. Most of the game content is having trial character , so you dont have worry to much for building character.
@@Klops_ID oh wow thanks for the info! yea i won't lie i tried my best to keep playing cuz i really wanted to like the game but i just cant :( also cuz it was hard to know what to do. that guy i mentioned before really helped a lot to help enjoy the game cuz i "kinda" knew what i was doing at that point
There is sensei cadet system. HI3 have global chat lobby. So you can real time chat in lobby. Use it. Channel 1 usually the most active. Lots of old player there.
Idk how much this matters but the Astral Ring system obliterating the part 1 valkyries and their gear also makes the battle pass feel like it has low value.
i bet the same people whine about how Genshin is dying, everytime a patch X.6 or X.7 comes around they cannot understand that the playerbase moves with the hype, so patches after the main story and before the big next update comes around are onviously gonna have less people.
I tried to play this game 4 times before part 2 came out. When part 2 came out I wanted to give it another chance taking advantage of the new changes and I haven't stopped playing since then. It also helps that they have been modernizing some of the old systems lately
That is exactly my experience with the game, I tried so hard to get into it but only managed to do so after the part 2 release as well. iirc I did try to get at least to chapter 9 twice and ended dropping it midway 3 years ago. Fast forward to today and I can't stop liking its story, having just reaching the part 2 last week, playing a lot since we got the first glimpse of Mars.
even now biggest issue in hi3rd is the fact valks don't feel usable without their weapons 😭 but it's a problem that existed in part 1 as well. However the thing I love about part 2 is every valk can be dps and support. You can basically switch the leader in wheel of destiny team and cover most of the content in the game.
Not, I still use Path of acheron for Horb and without any of her signatue stigma. But I still can get better score on abyss. so your opinion about Part 1 valk can't be play without their signature weapon isn't accurate.
@@RaykinaBreaker Now do that with your DPS and see your points crumble to dust. They're the most affected units by not having their weapon, especially if Valks like Thelema gain 3 seconds of timestop because of it.
“Honkai is dead” has already been around since 2019. People would say that as long as they have personally lost interest on the game and just wanted their collective to be in agreement.
Interesting video. I've been gauging activity on the EU server based on membership activations for my Armada. Up until two days ago the numbers were not good. No new applications in a long while and a lot of dormant accounts. The release of the recent HSRxHI3 collab promo video must have had a huge impact tho because in the last day the Armada filled right up again thanks to a mountain of applications.
What makes me sadder is the fact that with the profits zzz, hsr and gi brought to mihoyo they could have used part of the profit to improve hi3 and add dubbing and support new languages to hi3.
They already did improve the overall engine and designs But its too late and hard for language since you have a whole 40 chapters and other stuff that need to be dubbed which just isnt worth it And its would be weird if only p2 have it anyway
Y'know what's wierder than partially EN dub? Putting your voicepack setting to CN, yet the cutscenes are still in JP. You have to _manually_ download and change the cutscene in-game files to make it all CN.
12:03 "homu, but wouldn't it be weird to have part of the game dubbed while the rest isn't" They can always retroactively add a dub to part one. Even if it's released in smaller seperate updates alongside part 2 updates. Imagine this. there's an announcement for a few new events in part 2, after everything is announced, there's a surprise trailer.. you see.. wha? Part 1! But Something's off.. it's in English! Turns out part 1 is getting an English dub up until the Herrscher of the void's debut. They'll be dubbing the story in separate pieces to avoid overworking the crew. Now wouldn't that be an interesting idea
Right, I've always I gained that if they retroactively give the game an Eng dub they would release it in batches. Like ch1 to 9, ch9-ex to 17, ch18 to 25, ch25-ex to 35, and then part 1.5 and so on.
Oh heck no!! Have you seen what's happening with hoyo's EN VA drama in past couple months (GI and HSR)? EN dub brings more trouble than benefit. This is an 8yo game with established role, and the last thing we need is western drama and their DEI/LGTV problems
@@kutukan2219 Please go elsewhere with this bullshit. Like seriously, fuck off. We're talking about a game where the majority of ships are literally lesbians, what the fuck are you on about?
Its kinda funny that i actually came back and played Hi3rd back in the past 1 and half year because of HSR upon stopping back in 2018. It revived my interest in the game and reminded me how much i love this game.
Truth right here man. Strategic pulling for gachas and resources management are the most important aspect of Hi3, knowing what your acc needs are and how to prioritize is key. 50% of being good at Hi3 is knowing how to manage these multiple different currencies/resources effectively.
When HSR came out, Genshin suffered the most of all hoyo games, and it's very noticeable across all estimations out there. And it happened again when ZZZ came out. Hoyo is spreading out their playerbase across their games, it's a natural phenomenon.
I'm going to be honest I dropped the game after Part 1 ended and deleted my account. But that was more because I was satisfied with my overall experience with the game and felt that my time with it had reached its natural conclusion. I was only there for the story and characters afterall. I didn't do any endgame modes, I only played story events and I didn't check in every day. Heck I barely ever even pulled on any characters. When the story concluded I felt it was just the right time to go. Even so I wouldn't ever say that the game is dead. It may not have nearly the playerbase of Genshin or Star Rail, but its trailers still get good views, its still making decent money and the community is still making a lot of fan content. I highly doubt such a game could be categorized as dead.
25:30 leaderboards is THE REASON many old fans still play this game. Leaderboards is the thing that makes this game stand out compared to the competitors. Leaderboards HAVE TO stay
The gacha is insane. On just the $5 monthly, I've got every part 2 character and gear. I even splurged on the current spending event to get the 'free' Kiana, and I'm still in pretty good shape for Sparkle.
To add a bit to the gacha and meta segment. After reluctantly coming back for Part 2 (Thelema was too attractive to pass on), I would say the gacha is definitely better, although I have been unsuccesful to snipe weapons early than I was in Part 1 as was mentioned. I managed to get an early once. I have been somewhat lucky on the valks getting some a bit to very early, which is not really more unusual than to part 1. While pulling for weapons you tend to get the complete stigmata set now anyway, but since it is still cheaper than part 1, and you can use the mats from salvaging copies, I am happy with it, although I agree they could give more cubes. The part 2 system actually made me willing to spend because this gacha just inherently felt more reasonable to me, because farmable stigmata are just a better and more f2p system to begin with. Part 2 valks are very strong but P1 valks especially Luna and Fua who are still P1 gacha so very unattractive to pull for me personally, are still very meta and I did not aquire them because of this exact reason, so when they are relevant in weather it really sucks for me because even though I have p1 valks, they are still mostly on my old "f2p gear", so my runs are worse but still doable. I agree with what p2 valks are more skippable than others, but I think Songque outside of her specific SD bosses was not worth the pull for me either. I don't like that they seemingly entirely dropped the war treasury system but I am going to be honest, I never liked the system in practice. These farmable valks were meta the day they dropped, and must haves in certain comps and weathers, and usually required you to have them SS to have any resemblance of a good unit, which took many weeks to do so (unless you just pulled for them). And then you still had to get the gear somehow! It would've been stomachable if at least the stigmata was farmable as it is now, but no, only the ancient ones get farmable stigmata, which at that point, you would only do for collection purposes or if you had that valk maxed in rank somehow. Overall pretty disappointing there.
@@Raikeran Jesus Christ bless mine and others souls. Because I'm going to make this happen I will write it then i'll pitch it after film school. (Need film school for the experience I need to get myself accepted as director.)
I was never interested into Genshin or Star rail, because in my persepective was that Genshin was Honkai Impact 3rd fantasy and Star Rail was Honkai Impact 3rd in SPAAAAACE!. I did start to play ZZZ when I got my PS5 and I love ZZZ
as someone who has actually played a bunch of gachas that shut down their servers, hi3 revenue is quite healthy and far from eos numbers so I'm not worried about its current state. although @9:42 tbh I'm a bit worried about this one even if we completely exclude every other gacha outside of hoyo. there has been an ample amount of time between hi3 and genshin release and then hsr 3 years later, but then zzz released shortly after and now hoyo even has another honkai game in the works. oh yeah, there's tears of themis as well but I'm not counting ggz since it has no global server anymore. that said, I'm a little worried they're thinning out their fanbase a little too fast. I'd rather they pour their resources in improving their current games than keep on releasing more.
Thank you for the video! I hope my information helped. My only gripe with HI3rd at moment is that I wish Hoyo would fix longstanding issues like glitches and typos in the legacy content. I love the story so much but it becomes a tough thing to get people to try when the older content's script quality is significantly worse.
I was podcasting the video but had to stop work, open the comment section and leave a comment to say YES!!! HAVING A ROSTER OF ALL FEMALE PLAYABLE CHARECTERS IN A GAME SO INTERESTING AS HONKAI IMPACT 3RD IS A MAJOR LET DOWN!!! Now, lets keep listening.
Its annoying the only reason they’re doing this is because they want to appease their community of incels that are in china😓we could have good weapon and stigmata combinations on characters like kalpas, kevin, su, litost, but noooo because some guys wanna live off of a fictional wife foothold, we cant have playable male characters… Its even more annoying when people who know nothing about honkai call this game bad for having all female characters yet they don’t know why it does in the first place. And why it still does to this day.
@@GwakTerii I mean, wasn't incels insulted by Moon arc? Arc that tells "escapism isn't an answer, grow up". I know that HI3 kinda panders to them, but this thing bothers me.

Honestly i like the leaderboards because it feels like there is a place and a reason to use the characters that i either spent time or money to get. What else is there to do in Genshin after clearing abyss with one hand while eating a sandwich. Wuthering waves makes me use both hands but after i get my rewards there isn’t a place to use my characters. The biggest difference between Wuwa and Genshin is that i can feel my hard work as my rotations improve in Wuwa versus my one-handed Genshin account. In Honkai impact 3rd i can compete against other players who also enjoy getting to scores. It’s absolutely unnecessary but i still like it. Honkai Impact rotations always are the same and we all use the same strats mostly but it feels good when i get 3 points higher than someone especially when there is a disparity between our accounts. Maybe i’m alone but that’s how i feel.
I'm so glad they updated the stig system. Kitting out a char before really hurt the pockets. I do also miss being able to get gacha chars frags in pulls though. Got pages of frags I'll never be able to use now bc you get a full char instead
i started the game 5 days ago, and tbh i just wish the game did a better job of explaining things, like combat and "what to do" i know there's combat tutorials, i pulled Vita, got a Coralie and nothing else with the first few pulls but who tf do i run with Vita? iirc the tutorial has Senadina and Coralie, but who do i replace for Sena when i literally have only Vita, Coralie and whatever you start the game with? progression is also convoluted, the game needs an idiot proof guide that tells you exactly what to do/what to aim for... like "push to chapter 4/ farm expeditions/ push to chapter x/ go try manifold/ reach lvl 40/ farm imaginons
I have been in honkai impact for more than 3 years since I found it through himeko's video and you can see all these problems in itself but with the beginning of part 2 at least in goal the state in the lotus network range for longer until the end of the shus, something that in part 1 went down and up every so often, of course with vita and teresa where I have just dropped in rank, being a big difference to part 1 and regarding the language it also means that it cannot be expanded further. I play with Spanish being what they ask for the most since I am Latin but I have no problem with English but for others it is. but the most important thing and what makes me continue in honkai impact is its story, which is why I have continued and continue to do so even after Kiana because it is this that brought me to this game, not its gameplay but the stories it tells and I plan to continue until the complete end of this
Also, Honkai Impact is the best thing that has happened to my life and I wouldn't at least want it to end because it is what motivates me to move forward in this world called life.
My expirience as someone who decided to start the playing the game from part 2 was pretty ok. I kinda understood the story because despite not reading the story of first part I watched a lot of videos about it so I have a general understanding of it, still part 2 story didn't really catch me, it was okay but nothing special for me. The combat was pretty fun, would probably be more fun if Prometheus wasn't the only good valkyrie I had. What made me quit was the gacha system, I'm not sure, maybe I did something wrong or what but the amount of currency I got was miniscule compared to the amount of time I spend in the game, like after 3-3,5 month of playing the game I didn't even have 1 character pity, combine that with seeing all other people have fun playing units who I wanted to play too and it just stopped being fun. But people who think HI3 is dying are delusional(lol), it's the golden child of Hoyo, they won't let it just die, not even talking about how many players I saw in HSR subreddit wanting to play the game after Sparkle.
as a fellow 8 year enjoyer you deserve a sub and like for this. The one thing that was confusing is you said you had to be level 30 to start part 2... I remember creating an alt account and I was directly thrown into part 2. I literally hadn't started an alt account ever and I was actually confused how to get to the part 1 story from the menu and had to ask chat how to get out of part 2 as every time I clicked on story it just put me back in part 2 lol. I had no idea how to navigate the menu on a new account >_>; but anyway nice video thanks a lot.
Sensor tower for SEA is kinda whack since me and armada mates usually top ups with CodaShop cause its easier and no TAX, which those estimate servers doesnt calculate
Another thing to add is that instead of pushing ENTIRELY new units, them going back and giving astral ring to S rank valkyries from the end of part 1/APHO (HORB Seele, HOTR Bronya, SW Bronya, etc) as they just did with Kiana HOFI battle suit is a good direction. That way these not *super* old but pre-part 2 units can have even more synergies with new part 2 units. Sushang has yet to be powercrept because she is that good. They could always give Sushang astral ring even if she doesn't need it. It would create for more uses for the Valk also (she's still busted).
If Genshin is what put Hoyo on the global stage then Honkai impact 3rd is what made them famous in China. Heck even GGZ is still being supported in China despite the global server closing.
As someone who got into Honkai Impact 3rd towards the end of part 1 and fell in love with it, I would appreciate them reopening the time capsule on GGZ so that I could experience the lore of that game as well.
on the merch side, there was a pretty big influx of merch in the last year or so. offhand, i bought the Senadina yo-yo, the Razer Kishi v2 with Mobius Skin(it went quick) and the Hyte y40 Songque case.
It's alright. I'll admit i dropped the game after Luna's banner as I got kinda bored from 1.5's storytelling but I do think Honkai 3rd is not over. I'm just more hyped about ZZZ specially that i prefer it's combat more than part 2's post combat changes. But I do think 3rd has went more favouring the hardcore players now and I would like future games like Genshin, Star Rail and ZZZ have endgames like that when it nears the thing I'll miss out most on 3rd after playing it for so many years.
the one time where i got lucky in part2 gacha is accidentally getting Teri with 2 pulls because of 50% off on first 10 pull (and right before that i went almost until guarantee on songque just to NOT accidentally get Teri)
I have seen enough. Downloading HI again xD Thanks for the video homu. I was one of the players who shifted to HSR when it launched but seeing your vids has convinced me to come back again. Never let you go after all...
HI3rd is Hoyo's favorite and already matured child. Tears of Themist is the forgotten child. Genshin is the talented but somewhat neglected middle child. HSR and ZZZ are the new kids that are being doted on. GGZ...I don't know a lot about it. So here's is my...invention: Gun Girls Z feels like that somewhat shut-in kid who got burned by the outside world and now refused to leave the warm home neighborhood.
Hoyo is still mantaining GGZ in JP and CN (And they recently did a Bandori MyGo collab which was a huge hit in china), if GGZ isnt closing down any time soon, HI3 is gonna be just fine lol
The true decilne will be from the fact that they are putting honkai star rail above the story current story so now it will just pander to star rail refrences and lore while making current story matter less having a memokeeper talk to kiana already does that
Agree to disagree on that. Problems on Earth already conlude, and the girls need to expand their lore beyond honkai tidal barrier to the end of the solar system, then the milky way, and the rest of the galaxy. They might have to pace a little, though. Personally I think they have to reconstruct better story in part2. The first 4 chapter make good buildups but the epilogues are dogs$#1t since it revealed that the whole arc is basically a simulation with nothing put at a stake
I see it as them building 2 story at the same time. We know the story is gonna be connected to hsr because we are approaching apho on the main story and i just see the collab stuff as the foundation for part 1 character to tackle on the back while the mars crew uncover the mars story
I disagree, like others have mentioned the story of HI3rd would've inevitably expanded beyond Earth which was then Venus and now Mars, and beyond that our local solar system etc. HI3rd developers have always had this grand vision of the Honkaiverse, and together with HSR they're building it. I personally love the intersection between the two games, and look forward to them becoming increasingly interlinked while still retaining their own identities. Both game developers have shown they can deliver peak fiction, just let them cook.
Honestly, I agree with you, to an extent. I'm not wholly opposed to HSR story content being present in HI3 in the first place, but the way they've done it here just doesn't really work at all. Of course they're gonna need to go beyond Mars at some point, but.... Mars was already a really big leap for the story, and we've only just had the plot get into its stride, with it starting to become something truly great. Yes, there is still the greater universe beyond HI3's solar system and the Honkai energy intertidal zone, but it's just simply not the time to be getting into all that. We only JUST had things get real serious and had the stakes raised with Leylah's introduction into the plot, and how they'd assumedly be tied to Ruimu in some way because that's where Mars' "gods" reside (and the tower matches her aesthetic). We're going to Ruimu next, so things are only going to get deeper the closer we get to Leylah and the truth of Senadina. But now.... there's Sparkle talking to Vita out of nowhere, and a Memokeeper intruding upon Kiana's Martian computer coma. Not only does it not make quite 100% sense for Vita to actually join the Masked Fools - while the Masked Fools are very free and able to do what they want without Aha butting in, they ARE still under the gaze and "control" of a divine being, something Vita spent literal millennia trying to escape from before managing to steal Sa's authority and becoming a god in her own right. She doesn't even need the power of a Pathstrider, either. But also, the timing just isn't right. Both the scene with Sparkle and Vita, as well as Kiana and the Memokeeper, are just simply placed in the chapter with zero rhyme or reason, breaking the pacing and coming out of nowhere after a sudden scene transition from something completely unrelated. And keep in mind, HI3's main timeline is still sitting in 2024 right now. APHO is next year in 2025, and Alien Space's future portions happen in 2029. We are AT MINIMUM still 5 years away from when Welt and Void Archives actually leave the solar system and enter HSR proper. The Sky People have not attacked Earth in earnest yet. Why are we getting into all this HSR stuff with Aeons and Emanators and everything else that exists beyond Earth's solar system, when we still have the conflict on Mars and soon-to-be-upcoming conflict back on Earth to deal with. I get that APHO was initially written right in the middle of Part 1 and thus some things have to be retconned inevitably no matter what (such as Mei and others "seeing Otto die", which was not true). But why are they so surprised and outmatched against the Sky People in APHO if we're now getting all the greater HSR cosmology thrown in our faces. What was the point of all that elaboration regarding the Sky People with Marah having escaped with a bunch of cleaners and becoming the leader of her own new thing of space pirates (confirming that our main antagonist with the Sky People is actually her rather than Sa) if they're just going to completely invalidate them through this and make said upcoming threat entirely pointless. Yes, Kiana is still presumably in her coma by the time of APHO, and Vita is who knows where (probably screwing around doing Masked Fools things, which makes it even worse), but if we're getting all this HSR stuff here now an entire year before APHO happens for the in-universe timeline, then what even really is the point of actually waiting for APHO 3 to get here? Having HSR content in HI3 is fine on paper and as a concept, but not here with the way they've actually done it now in Part 2 Chapter 5 and assumedly however the collab is gonna work.
wonder if anyone is the same as me: played until end of ER(ely HOH), quit, found out recently that P2 is out for about a year and story is getting long enough to be enjoyable. Returned on a fresh account and played thru P2 from first chapter to current chapter without pause, was a great experience. Currently slowly catching up on part1 storyline and plan to push P1 story past HoH and see what happens afterward.
thanks u for this vid. ppl complaining about p2 gacha have no idea how horrible p1 was (here i still don't have HoTr weapon even pulling it more than 100 times). i also remember always skipping the cool s rank cuz there was a new sp "support" support that if u didn't have u was done for. p2 valk can also be support and dps giving them much more value and longevity than any p1 chars
12:38 This is very true. As a native spanish speaker, I wish that Hoyo could localize HI3 in spanish. Even if I know english, it is far more comfortable to read something in your native language. People from spanish speaking countries are definitely interested in HI3 story and lore but can't get into the game because their language isn't supported. I'll continue playing the game as I'm still enjoying the story in part 2.
New player here. Been wanting to check the game out for a while now but Sparkle clenched it. She popped into my room and said "Wanna play a game?" Seriously though I'm hooked. I understand so much more of the Star Rail backstory and the story is the best out there. I'll play until the servers shut down.
for now my only complaint is the fuel we need to farm for old stigmata, i mean it took me almost one and half year just to craft g4 fire stigmata for fu hua garuda battlesuit like we need them to increase the amount we get from farming or make the amount needed for crafting less
The leaderboards made the game a lot more interesting for me, even as a low spender. It just feels like there is always reason to make me do better. Also, if you really miss your old valkyires, you have like 3 stages with 5 whole minutes where you can use anyone you want. You can also still use your old valkyires for the bosses if you want.. not like it matters as long as you don't lose trophies.
I'm surpised that there are even some people that prefer the part 1 gacha or that it was better then now. Which I feel like is objectively wrong. But anyways, I have been waiting for HI3 to be awesome again for way too long, finally it seems my wish will be fullfilled starting from the next update, they are cooking hard
Omg homu thanks for your videos so much, because of them i love this game even more. The effort you put into them is outstanding, this one was so insightful. People can be so ignorant sometimes, just cuz it aint AS popular doesnt mean it is dying smh
I quit cause after a major release update, and a 3 month break, I lost everything, which included three herrscher team at near max limit breaks. I just couldn't find myself playing again.
I lost my entire account too because the laptop I was using broke. Didn't play the game for 8 months and in that 8 months a lot happened, including the name change from Mihoyo to Hoyoverse. That particular change made me lose my account and had to start over (this happened in 2022 btw) If I can do it so can you, if you're still interested that is.

Honkai gakuen still up but in china and japan
And it's doing another collab, with an upcoming idol anime
honkai founded genshin :) and now genshin and star rail brings enough money anyways
doubt it, ggz glb closed cause it has horrendous management sometimes you think the translations are just google'd
Interestingly, there are studios out there that keep their games alive if they are actually dead and not "dead by random internet metric" so I think it's pretty safe to assume a passion project like the Honkai series will be around for as long as it is feasible regardless of profit metrics.
If Honkai Impact ever has 1 remaining player, that will be me for i am eternally loyal to HI3! (i also glaze all mihoyo's games)

Kuro is something else
PGR and HI3 had some beef but it didn't last long. Hopefully Wuwa and Genshin feud won't last a long time

PC version is better than the mobile honest, plus more space.
HI3 is now on Hoyoplay (Mihoyo Cloud software) on PC which helps reduce storage. Highly recommend playing on PC

Longevity is looking way better for these new valks compared to some P1’s.
in regards to the gacha oftentimes people overexagerate the so called "power creep" anyways, or how much you have to pull to stay "competitive" here, if you are in CN, sure, you are doomed, followed by SEA which is very competitive, but not as much, and then if you are in NA or EU, its super chill
Im in NA, and i personally have held for ages in RL (can go up to Nirvana if i want, but 20 crystal isnt worth the balding, i accidentally promoted with Vita tho), and i didnt pull any part 2 valks until Sonque, and now Vita, and lets be real, Sonque without part 2 supps can't even use AR, i had to use her with Seele+Promy, and still retained RL all the time
As for MA, under same conditions, i always retained 2% Rank, which further proves the point
Old Valks aren't really that "obsolete", even in an era where brackets are full of part 2 teams

I don't understand why people say that hi3rd is a dead game when clearly pgr is in a much worse situation in terms of income.

If HI3 really was "dead" and Hoyo did not care about it anymore, they would definitely have closed the game by now. Case in point, GGZ Global Server 💀
@tseiny8761 in fact part 1 characters were already built up from the manhwa and older story
Part 1 also start off slow with us following the boring chapter of kiana daily school. It picked up the pace when hov revived but that's like 6 chapter in.
Not to mention that a lot of player skip part 1.5 too. To them it's like a filler which annoyed me quite a bit 😂
i always compare the Kiana situation to JoJo chars AND Goku, i'll explain
JoJo main chars arcs end, they can appear (like Joseph not being main char in Stardust Crussaders), but you need to let them go, they are not the protagonist anymore and new stories and adventures will be told
But some people simply can't let go, which is what happened to Goku, fans wouldnt ever let go off Goku, which is what made Gohan sell smoke and mirrors for hundreds of episodes without ever doing anything, and when he finally won a fight, he then got sidelined immediately in Buu Saga, making the character roster very very very stale and boring
Just in time when Sparkle vs. Vita Concept trailer was released, I see you Homu, we definitely eating good today! 🙏💯

I know we are not there yet but I think part 2 should make Animated shorts because those and manga really kept the game popular.
Thank u so much for putting subtitles, english is not my main language and this helps a lot
WARNING for new player dont you ever updating your captain level to 81 (this only happen if you already at lv 80 right know and you have a choice to upgrade.)
Tips if you already unlock Elysian Realm : keep playing until you unlock deep sequence and shallow sequence , unlock your key recommended only your main dps that already you have , but im recommending Coralie for doing Elysia Realm , since they gave you fullset equipment , and she is really strong for the game content.
Idk how much this matters but the Astral Ring system obliterating the part 1 valkyries and their gear also makes the battle pass feel like it has low value.
yeah, the astral ring pretty much decimate all part 1 valkyrie team
i bet the same people whine about how Genshin is dying, everytime a patch X.6 or X.7 comes around
they cannot understand that the playerbase moves with the hype, so patches after the main story and before the big next update comes around are onviously gonna have less people.
Tbh idea of Bangboo Labs seems interesting 😂
Make a lab background for both HI3 and ZZZ 🔥
Even if hi3 hits eos I'll still manage to find an apk or something IM NOT LETTING IT GO SORRY HIMEKO🙏🏼
even now biggest issue in hi3rd is the fact valks don't feel usable without their weapons 😭 but it's a problem that existed in part 1 as well.
I agree.
@@RaykinaBreakerthey just said it feels that way. jeez
They already did improve the overall engine and designs
But its too late and hard for language since you have a whole 40 chapters and other stuff that need to be dubbed which just isnt worth it
And its would be weird if only p2 have it anyway
Y'know what's wierder than partially EN dub? Putting your voicepack setting to CN, yet the cutscenes are still in JP.
You have to _manually_ download and change the cutscene in-game files to make it all CN.
12:03 "homu, but wouldn't it be weird to have part of the game dubbed while the rest isn't"
They can always retroactively add a dub to part one.
Even japanese had to do that when Sawashiro was sick for a while and they added the voiced lines for Mei afterwards
@@PlatinumButthurt yup the elysian realm story arc just have Mei silent for most of the story. Her voice came back on the last arc of elysian realm
It is getting pretty annoying that some people look only at the revenue to consider the game that others are playing are considered dead.
Mostly my friends who are bad at saving strategy scream that the game is dead.
Truth right here man. Strategic pulling for gachas and resources management are the most important aspect of Hi3, knowing what your acc needs are and how to prioritize is key. 50% of being good at Hi3 is knowing how to manage these multiple different currencies/resources effectively.
@@disciplinaryblessing People don't understand that they can't get every character. 🤦♂️ I always save until guaranteed.
You forgot one thing: the 200 pulls for gear do not carry over pity, but the 60 pulls now do.
Guys should I start this game

I was never interested into Genshin or Star rail, because in my persepective was that Genshin was Honkai Impact 3rd fantasy and Star Rail was Honkai Impact 3rd in SPAAAAACE!. I did start to play ZZZ when I got my PS5 and I love ZZZ
i’m glad to have been part of the data survey!!
as someone who has actually played a bunch of gachas that shut down their servers, hi3 revenue is quite healthy and far from eos numbers so I'm not worried about its current state.
although @9:42 tbh I'm a bit worried about this one even if we completely exclude every other gacha outside of hoyo. there has been an ample amount of time between hi3 and genshin release and then hsr 3 years later, but then zzz released shortly after and now hoyo even has another honkai game in the works. oh yeah, there's tears of themis as well but I'm not counting ggz since it has no global server anymore. that said, I'm a little worried they're thinning out their fanbase a little too fast. I'd rather they pour their resources in improving their current games than keep on releasing more.
I'm very glad that the thumbnail clarified the person saying nobody cares was a fake fan. I woukd have had trouble with that on my own.
Its annoying the only reason they’re doing this is because they want to appease their community of incels that are in china😓we could have good weapon and stigmata combinations on characters like kalpas, kevin, su, litost, but noooo because some guys wanna live off of a fictional wife foothold, we cant have playable male characters…
Its even more annoying when people who know nothing about honkai call this game bad for having all female characters yet they don’t know why it does in the first place. And why it still does to this day.
@@GwakTerii I mean, wasn't incels insulted by Moon arc? Arc that tells "escapism isn't an answer, grow up". I know that HI3 kinda panders to them, but this thing bothers me.
ive been playng the game for like 5 years and im on my second account after i lost my 1st account 2 years ago when the domain change happened(idk why ,i was sure i linked them but suddenly my account wasnt the same on hoyolab and i lost it).....i was very devastated when i realized my first account which ive spend more than 1000 hours was lost, but i didnt give up and started all from scratch and i will never give up the game even if it becomes old or outdated...
Got pages of frags I'll never be able to use now bc you get a full char instead
i started the game 5 days ago, and tbh i just wish the game did a better job of explaining things, like combat and "what to do"
i know there's combat tutorials, i pulled Vita, got a Coralie and nothing else with the first few pulls
but who tf do i run with Vita? iirc the tutorial has Senadina and Coralie, but who do i replace for Sena when i literally have only Vita, Coralie and whatever you start the game with?
progression is also convoluted, the game needs an idiot proof guide that tells you exactly what to do/what to aim for... like "push to chapter 4/ farm expeditions/ push to chapter x/ go try manifold/ reach lvl 40/ farm imaginons
The timing of this video is crazy!
I was just asking this question as I came back for the collab.
It's been 8 years since the JP voice dub at the event still doesn't exist 🥲
I'm starting to think Bangboo Labs is an actual thing, like it's a 3d Printer or something
I recently started playing this game as a HSR, GI, ZZZ and WuWa player and I like this game a lot and just hoping that it will do fine in the future 🥺
as a fellow 8 year enjoyer you deserve a sub and like for this.
I think I knew gacha CC who always saying hi3 is dead/dying for some reason also they and their mods convince their chat to not playing hi3
5:05 Glad to see that meme isn't dying anytime soon lmao
Amazing video Homu!
I will keep playing this sht until they plug out the server. I won't forget how this game helped me during my bad times in life.
on the merch side, there was a pretty big influx of merch in the last year or so. offhand, i bought the Senadina yo-yo, the Razer Kishi v2 with Mobius Skin(it went quick) and the Hyte y40 Songque case.
What makes me not like this game is the lag on Part 2 map, why do they have to make it Open World. It's not friendly on mobile phones.
mobile phones? how about static phones? :teripoint:
the one time where i got lucky in part2 gacha is accidentally getting Teri with 2 pulls because of 50% off on first 10 pull (and right before that i went almost until guarantee on songque just to NOT accidentally get Teri)
People who said that HI3 is dying clearly has never seen dying game.
The game may not be dead but the identity it once had is dead. That's what I can say
Having HSR content in HI3 is fine on paper and as a concept, but not here with the way they've actually done it now in Part 2 Chapter 5 and assumedly however the collab is gonna work.
wonder if anyone is the same as me:
played until end of ER(ely HOH), quit, found out recently that P2 is out for about a year and story is getting long enough to be enjoyable.
I still play HI3 because, I love chatting in room 1
Room 1 is so cursed on Euro lol.
@Infelious I literally play in Europe server
New player here. Been wanting to check the game out for a while now but Sparkle clenched it. She popped into my room and said "Wanna play a game?" Seriously though I'm hooked. I understand so much more of the Star Rail backstory and the story is the best out there. I'll play until the servers shut down.
for now my only complaint is the fuel we need to farm for old stigmata, i mean it took me almost one and half year just to craft g4 fire stigmata for fu hua garuda battlesuit
like we need them to increase the amount we get from farming or make the amount needed for crafting less
Such a great video, nice work Homu!
Omg homu thanks for your videos so much, because of them i love this game even more. The effort you put into them is outstanding, this one was so insightful. People can be so ignorant sometimes, just cuz it aint AS popular doesnt mean it is dying smh
He turn into financial manager real quick
I quit cause after a major release update, and a 3 month break, I lost everything, which included three herrscher team at near max limit breaks. I just couldn't find myself playing again.
I lost my entire account too because the laptop I was using broke. Didn't play the game for 8 months and in that 8 months a lot happened, including the name change from Mihoyo to Hoyoverse. That particular change made me lose my account and had to start over (this happened in 2022 btw)
If I can do it so can you, if you're still interested that is.
Love you, i will be a Honkai fan till DEATH❤
Also, I would love them to include male battlesuits and Spanish Version❤
