    📣 NOTE: I used the package natbib and apalike style.
    You can delete the "natbib" package and type "plain" in the bibliography style instead of "apalike" for a plain format.

    🖥Overleaf templates:
    1) Loading packages (copy/paste):
    \documentclass[12pt]{article}
    \usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}
    \usepackage{natbib}
    2) Adding the bibliography (copy/paste):

    ewpage (optional)
    \bibliographystyle{apalike}
    \bibliography{references}
    **You can delete natbib package and use \bibliographystyle{plain} if desired**
    To cite in text use: \cite{} or you can try \citep{} (this gives a different format).
    Remember to paste your references in a separate file called: references.bib

    Thank you so much. The overleaf documentation is so horrendous that I could not figure out what the problem for my bibliography was for half an hour. This is ten times simpler and actually works. I cannot express enough how little I understand it, that official documentation does not work/look like this video

    Hello, Is it possible to clearly show how to cite more than two authors using overleaf? It happens that you multiple authors to put in the certain paraphrase.

    You explain very clearly and I like. Thanks. I would like to know if Overleaf has all journals formats [economics] since when you submit a journal you have to check all requirements of formatting.. and adjust, which is tiresome.

    • @JDEconomics

      Thanks! I am not sure which format is the one they ask in the journal, but you can check the available styles at: www.overleaf.com/learn/latex/Bibtex_bibliography_styles

    I have a question. I do exactly the same thing, but after compiling, instead of having "References", there is a new chapter named "Bibliography" ! How can I change this title to "References" and also get rid of a new chapter?

    • @JDEconomics
      @JDEconomics  2 года назад

      Hi! Thanks for your comment. It has to do with the type of document you are working with. The document class I am using is "article". If you use something different, then instead of showing references it will show bibliography. I hope that helps! Best Regards, JD

    Hello!
    this video is helpful.
    i want to synchronize my refrences section with text. But through this way it appeared randomly. can you plz help how to sort it.
    i am using biblographystyle {plain}
    so in text in fst para i want to appear [1] in 2nd [2] and so on but it appear in alphabetic manner as per refrence papaer fst author name.
    e.g. fst refrece author name 'yan' it assignd to refrence no.[3].
    3rd author name is 'alen' it assigned it to [1] and 2nd refrence author name is 'zen' it assignd to it [3]. It appeared haphazrdly in text.

    The Introduction was numbered as section 1. However, References were not numbered as section 2. Do we need some package to make that happen?

    • @JDEconomics
      @JDEconomics  4 месяца назад

      All you would have to do is isntead of using reference, make a section called references…
      The rest is the same.
