Coincidentally, I was making a synth of this doing both alert & attack and wasn’t sure how it would actually sound. This probably isn’t the real timing on a Sirex but it’s good enough for me to say it still sounds like an eerie son of a bitch. So happy you’re able to capture this!
Very interesting attack sound never heard a super siren do that before and it usually does alert anyone else know why it's broken my guess is that the controller must be bad . what will happen to it if it not fixed? The tone is a Devil's triad. what happened to the original controller? Love The tone of it and it's very unique.
@@FEDERALSIGNALTECH the original controller was replaced in 2014 if I recall correctly. if it's not fixed I doubt they'll scrap it, they'll probably replace it and do something with it

My goal is to get this siren in 2024. Edit: for the heck of it since I won't be recording as many sirens this year due to college and work, and I have first Wednesday free this year, I'm about to make this my first siren recording of the year. Edit 2: I finally got to witness the super sirex going off finally.
It won’t, City is keeping it till it dies. Which is like Battle Creek attitude so. It isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Sirens like these are built to last, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it lasted another 20 years.
MY GOSH it's in worse condition than it was before most of the paint is gone and more rust been appearing this siren used to be in way better condition a decade ago at least to the old videos that were made of this siren in 2009

A new FC was put on. The siren now sounds normally. The old FC had a stuck relay according to the city. The original control box is still up there.
