After this one, Tails, Amy & Knuckles’ VA’s left the group because apparently they were jerks to Penny and the gang, or something like that. Don’t worry, Sonic, Eggman and Shadow’s VA’s didn’t leave, they’re not going anywhere! And Chase, the guy who voiced Mephiles (and Storm here) is even BETTER next time.

Later this has been disputed by other people on the inside of snapcube, this could be like another Hyojin situation where the accuser is actually the abuser. We don’t really know.
Its a lot uglier than that. They had apparently been sexually harassing one of the other members and then gaslighting them. When confronted about it, they both admitted to it. At the time some of the snapcube members were also part of a small podcast network run by the two, along with a bunch of others. Once shit came to light, they wanted to cut things off as peacefully as possible, but when the network members all asked for their pay, the two refused and ghosted everyone. So yeah, they were jerks alright.
Don't forget that one of them also voice rogue so she's gone too
The "He is rather beautiful!" comment from Jet early on is actually extremely wholesome because in this dub, Jet was voiced by Penny Parker's girlfriend :')

For the record the Gmod section had to be recorded because the game has no ending cutscene for that bit. It's just gameplay from them going into the explosion to the end.
Didn't they also have issues with that in the 06 dub? Iirc, there's a gameplay segment that involves a train, which there's no cutscene for.

So I know they were jerks but I’ve never been certain what exactly did they do? I know they were toxic but could never find explicitly what they did.

Oh my god I just heard it for the first time ! After the "Sonic has fuckin' died" line, the announcer says "Who wants to bite the bullet and kiss him ?" because in Sonic 06, Elise kisses him to resurrect him, and since he died again here in the fandub, someone would need to kiss him again to bring him back. That's genuinly so funny 😂

These reactions have all been really fun! Definitely think you’ll enjoy Sonic Destruction too, the script format really lets the actors have fun with it.
Until Dawn is a great dub, you don't need to know the story, I didn't know any of tbe sonic games before I watched their dubs.
I've actually played Until Dawn so I already know the story of that one.
I think Gor laughed more in this fandub then the 06 dub, lol
i think DollipDaze (Jet) was the glue that made most of the bits in this one really stick she killed it

You're not the first person to be confused by that (or I assume you were based on the reaction- I could be wrong). Another person even made a (not very tasteful imo) joke about gender identity by claiming he was something ridiculous.
For context: a Swallow is a type of bird- one that Wave happens to be like how Jet is a hawk, and Storm is an Albatross.
Who was the person that made the joke?

When/if you watch Sonic Destruction, try not to read ahead too much, as they have the screenplay on screen as they read. It's funny either way, but i feel like it's much funnier to react to things with the cast as they're being said
Sonic Destruction is also when Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Rouge are replaced

Sonic Destruction 1 & 2 are both really funny too but there's only one small joke you'll miss in the Shadow dub if you watch them later
I do recommend watching Sonic Destruction 1 & 2, they are really entertaining. But wether you do it before or after Shadow the Hedgehog is up to you.
Though, maybe do Destruction first?
There the new voice cast get used to voicing sonic characters. Also, a joke or two from destruction get referenced in Shadow

Some people play the games and some go in blind and that is how we get gold, it really helps when at least one person knows about something ridiculous to set a joke up.

Just a fun fact, but "Catch me if you can", the zero gravity version specifically, which played at the credits, is played in a cafe in yakuza 5. Just something I found out.
Also, I'm not sure how others feel, but this is in my opinion the best Sonic fandub.

I can't recommend any other snapcube dub, because they're all a masterclass. The horror games aren't scary anymore, the jokes are perfect, what can I say? Other than "please watch them all"!
Actually, in addition to Heroes and Sonic Mega Collection, the Xbox also had the first Sonic Riders and Shadow the Hedgehog on it. The Xbox 360 also had Sonic 06, Free Riders, and Sonic Unleashed, so Sonic actually has a lot of games on Xbox overall. (Sonic Riders Zero Gravity was only on Wii and PS2 though; I've never understood that one, because it has regular controller controls built in and doesn't need the Wii remote at all yet they still didn't put it on Xbox 360 or PS3.
