Thanks. I realize this is very much not for everyone, but it definitely matches how my brain works as it pertains to color.

Holy fascination Batman this like colour physics one can understand and use.... I've been doing these things , as best I can ..., as I've learned as I went along but wow this is gold. Thanks really great stuff . The most fascinating thing with the comic book pic- when the two blues were the same-yes there was the contrast/ value difference with the sky and his head (and the ray gun in grey) BUT also what I find fascinating is the eye is told these are different by the head /sky contrast , so even though the blue ship at the back is same hue -the mind says -ok theyre separate ( if you know what I mean -Opens up a world of trickery and fantasy by use of colours )

The steepest, quickest change in grade or topographical levels = highest contrast. I've kinda always realized (though perpetually surpised by) how dark a color red is, when I see it at dusk or at night: it often appears virtually black. We can see why visibility stripes on emergency clothing is yellow and/or orange, NOT red.
They may need to add a bit of yellow to stop signs...

Hey Kurt, I have a question about selection in photoshop; when I want to select an area with the magic wand tool that has a color that is already used in the artwork, or has a similar color than an already used color, it automatically selects everything with that same color.
How do I prevent that? Do I have to use a completely different color for everything, or is there a way to keep Photoshop from selecting everything that has the same color?

There's a check box called contiguous on your magic wand settings at the top. That will toggle whether or not it only selects pixels that are adjacent to each other or not.

@@colorwithkurt Thanks alot! it works perfectly. I also found out that by lowering the tolerance, Photoshop seprates the color selection more specific. Very helpful stuff!
