1-yellow (slightly washed-out) 2-deep blue 3-yellow 4-purple 5-very intense red 6-orange 7-blue-green 8-purple (deeper than 4) 9-yellow (same shade as 3) Many of these also have consistent feelings associated with them, but these are hard to explain. I also associate months, the alphabet, and names with colors.
+ruth ilowski Yes I have it with numbers, letters, names, zodiac signs, school subjects, days, months, and just other general words like left and right!
How do you know the colour and shape of your key-chains for example then? Have you just memorized the abstract list of facts? If I ask you to describe what shape and colour of your kitchen sink, what happens in your mind?
@@fromeveryting29 I just like, know I guess. I _know_ my keychain has three keys on it. I _know_ the keys are copper color. I _know_ the kitchen sink is white and square. I just can't _see_ it in my brain.
I do this with letters, too. It particularly helps when recalling someone's name, since names are usually associated with the color of its first letter. For example I may not remember a name, but I will remember that their name had a bright yellow color, so I'll start thinking of all kinds of names with a bright yellow first letter: A, S, T, W, Y and after while I can remember it.
I completely forgot that when I was a child I saw every number as a face with a specific emotion up until she said "numbers have personalities!". I even drew numbers in my books as the faces I saw in my mind. Numbers with more than one digit were groups of "characters" having conversations and arguments. It really clicked in when she said 9 was angry, because of how true it was. I always thought the same. It makes me sad that I forgot for so long, so thank you for reminding me, Brady and Alex!
It would be interesting to see where people's synesthesia interacts, and how one ends up with an Irishman winning the lottery next to a river giving you the square root of 13...
Wow, I've always thought of 4 as a "blue" number and 2 as a "green" number. Though I can't quite say that I actually see the numbers in those colors when looking at them; I suppose it's more subtle than in her instance.
that's so weird, I can't imagine 4 not being green or 2 not being yellow. I always thought it was something to do with some objective quality of the numbers so it's weird to read people having different colours haha
I've always experienced 0-9 as having colors, but then the colors repeat with powers of ten; so Three is green, and so is thirty. Numbers also have weird, abstract personality traits associated with them; for example, nine is an evil plotting villain.
I have 2 of the rarest combinations of synesthesia. One, 3-dimenstional patterns timed to music (audio-visual) and two, feeling a slight jolt or shock in your joints/nerves timed to notes (neuromotor)
For me its like this 1 = blue/grey 2 = yellow 3 = orange 4 = green 5 = pink 6 = sometimes red, soemtimes blue 7 = dark green 8 = orange 9 = dark blue 0 = very bright yellow
Half of hers were the same as mine and 2 and 4 were my favourite positive, especially as a kid (so when I was happy, the numbers 2 or 4 would stay in my mind). Crazy. I also see colours when I hear music which as a musician brings another perspective to writing stuff compared to others I guess.
I can't believe I found this. For yrs, I was explaining this to random ppl but they think I'm odd. My fav number is 4. She's a crimson shade. Mature. Sophisticated. Fun loving gal.
I have synesthesia too. Yeah, that's right that each digit from 0 to 9 has its own color. 0 is white, 1 is yellow, 2 is pink, 3 is orange, 4 is sky blue, 5 is red, 6 is maroon, 7 is green, 8 is dark blue and 9 is violet. And each synesthete understands/sees numbers in a very own and special way. Anyway having synesthesia is really GREAT!!!!!
In my head, numbers are things I use to count with. For example, if I have a single walnut. I would say, "I have ONE walnut." If I had a second walnut. I would say, "I have TWO walnuts."
It is interesting that while the "colourful" numbers have different colours for different people, the numbers 0 and 1 are often seen as "colourless" or black or white or something like that. I also associate numbers with colours, but not as strong as she does: 0 - white; 1 - black; 2 - red; 3 - green; 4 - bright yellow; 5 - blue; 6 - forest green; 7 - maroon; 8 - dark yellow, almost brown; 9 - violet; 10 - light blue; 11 - skyblue; 12 - light orange; ....
NUGGet3562 0 - white 1 - white or yellow (maybe light yellow?) 2 - blue (like the letter b} 3 - red {like r and e) 4 - yellow (like i) 5 - green (like g) 7 - yellow again I'm not sure about 6, 8 and 9 but the strongest are 2, 3 and 4 in that order. Also, j is orange.
I think it's because of their frequency of their use. I mean, to me Saturday is very difficult to distinct because I do a lot of things on Saturday. 0 is most of the times next to another number so it takes its color so I define it with transparent. 1 it's so common to see… it's a bit primitive it's just one unit. I see it like a bit shy, in fact to me it's white.
I have the same thing with days of week: Monday: Red Tuesday: Blue/Purple Wednesday: Yellow/Orange Thursday: Green Friday: Pink Saturday: Gray Sunday: Black i think that i've associate that when i was i child, at school. My teacher did buy the notebooks with a specific color for each subject. Math: Red, Italian: Blue, English: Green, Story: Pink, Geography: Yellow and i associate for each day the color of the first subject of the day. I don't remember why saturday = gray. Sunday = black because on Sunday i don't have school. (i'm italian, maybe the school system is different)
Luca Lumetti I have the same thing, but the colours are slightly different. Monday = Red Tuesday = Blue Wednesday = Yellow/Gold Thursday = Purple Friday = Orange Saturday = Green/Aqua Sunday = Brown
I've always had a mental association of certain colors to certain number digits, similar to what she described. I have different colors for each digit, but it's the same thing. I've never seen a number's colors as its factors and don't really think in personalities, but I've definitely always associated numbers with a color. Really cool that this is something sort of special! FYI: 0 and 1=white, 2=blue, 3=green, 4=red, 5=orange, 6=lighter blue, 7=light purple, 8= dark purple, 9=red or pink.
I have diagnosed Grapheme color synesthesia. When I tell people that they say "Yeah I do that too. " But Synesthesia not just lightly associating colors with numbers, It is that the number IS the color. Grapheme to color is the most common and least severe type of synesthesia. MY numbers are as such 0- white 1- red 2- pink 3- light blue 4- purple 5- dark green 6- navy 7- yellow 8- maroon 9- aquamarine 10- black
holy shit I thought I was the only one! Here's how I see the digits 0 - nothing/transparent(?) 1 - blue 2 - yellow 3 - red 4 - white 5 - green 6 - yellow 7 - brown 8 - black 9 - black No idea why yellow and black pops up twice though
Firstname Lastname For me it's: 0 - clear 1 - light grey 2 - yellow 3 - light green 4 - red or yellow, not orange though 5 - green/brown 6 - green 7 - yellow/orange 8 - more green 9 - pink 10 - grey 24 - yellow and white 36 - green and orange 48 - yellow and green 64 - orange and yellow Even letters have colors, and the days of the week have colors And some words have genders
Ha so I though I didn’t have colored numbers but now reading this makes me think I do... I was immediately irked and though ‘how dare they, those are the wrong colors!’. So yeah
1- sky blue 2-yellow 3-orange 4-green 5-dark blue 6-red 7-black 8-purple 9-white And they also have a personality. 1-nice 2-happy 3-immature 4-funny 5-lucky 6-friendly 7-jealous 8-mean 9-mature
1-black 2-sunshine yellow 3-pale pink 4-pale blue 5-saffron 6-pumpkin orange 7-scarlet 8-dark green 9-lime green 1-serious 2-goofy, class clown 3-shy 4-also shy, friends with 3 5-clumsy 6-parental figure to 5 7-sassy 8-blunt, army type? 9-interested, friends with 7
0=light grey, 1=black, 2=red, 3=orange-yellow, 4=brown, 5=bright green, 6=yellow, 7=blue, 8=metallic blueish black (awesome), 9=dark green. Multi-digit numbers are composed of the colours of their digits. Very useful for memorising numbers.
I’ve never met another until seeing this, and I'm estatic, or sick. I’m stuck making decisions based on these patterns, faking life and simultaneously taking it to the maximum. Thank you!
I sometimes associate objects with the things I do while that object is present. For example, I was eating a piece of marzipan while watching a certain RUclips video. I ate half of it. One day later as I began to eat the other half, this RUclips video was popping into my head. I wasn't thinking of what I did yesterday. It just unintentionally thought of it. Or as a kid I used to hear radio while gaming and I began to associate maps to songs. As the songs began to play I had to think of a certain map. But as I played the map, I didn't have to think of that song. This isn't useful, but it's kinda interesting.
I do something like that with certain songs. Like one time while I was listening to a song called Visions, I came to a certain part in the song, and I was just listening, not doing much. But I started thinking about the TV show Wild Kratts for some odd reason. Now every time I hear that part of the song I think of Wild Kratts again. 😂😂😂
I believe what you have, is called memory, my friend. The only explanation I have for you is: our brain cells reuploads memory when we do something (eating the other half) the second or third time. It recalls a situation or feeling of the first time the 'something' happened
I've heard of this, but I'm glad that I found another source about this! I definitely have this, I've been thinking this way for as long as I can remember. I really only think about it when it come to to age, or with years. For me, I don't relate to what you say with the factors, I just see for example: 324 - Green, Red, Purple. They don't blend together at all. Here's my list: 0 - Clear 1- White 2 - Red 3 - Forest Green 4 - Dark-ish Purple 5 - Light Blue 6 - Orange-Red 7 - Yellow 8 - Deep Purple 9 - Deep Red I think it's interesting how many people see 1 as white ^^
I don't blend my multiple digit numbers either. My numbers are: Zero - White One - Scarlet Two - Lime Three - Red Four - Blue Five - Yellow Six - Fuchsia Seven - Purple Eight - Orange Nine - Brown Ten - Scarlet/White Eleven - White Twelve - Teal (The only unusual one) Thirteen - Scarlet/Red Fourteen - Scarlet/Blue etc.
0:White 1:Black 2:Orange 3:Red 4:Light Green 5:Forest Green 6:Sky Blue 7:Magenta 8:Brown 9:Pink 10:Gold 11:Grey 12:Dark Purple 13:Maroon 14:Salmon 15:Golden Brown 16:Leaf Green
My synesthesia is crazy. Like letters, months, days, names and most words all have colours/mix of colours, and then numbers have colours, personalities and some even have genders (despite the fact I hate anything maths related lol), and I can also sometimes hear sounds/music and they have colours and textures and patterns/shapes. I think I have colour - grapheme synesthesia and sound - induced synesthesia? (As far as I know from research I've done idk)
I have synesthesia and I also see songs in colour too which helps me to pick which type of songs I enjoy the most in what moods be asue the colour will reflect it quite well :)
0 - Clear/transparent 1 - White 2 - Dark blue 3 - Red 4 - Yellow 5 - Blue 6 - Maroon 7 - Orange 8 - Green 9 - Yellow 10 - White And the personalities of colours! Yes! I totally relate to all of that! Colours like blue and orange always seem to be the cool, laid back but at the same time leader like personalities, so the numbers with those colours stand out more to me. 2 has more of a presence than 1 due to that fact, 2 is also a number that seems to crop up a lot in my life. 7 is my lucky number because I relate to it, colour wise and personality wise. Yet I see myself as being more of an indigo. With the laid back and mysterious qualities of purple and the strong indipendant qualities of dark blue.
Synesthesia isnt just sight you guys! Synesthesia is when two senses get mixed together. some people can taste words, others can smell numbers, some can hear textures. the more I talk with people who do have Synesthesia the more I have found it is more like a trait that we learn. As for me I can feel sounds. Growing up I was always surrounded in music be it classical, hip hop, pop, rock, or electronica and different noises have different feelings. Bass drums make my head feel fluffy...
i have synaesthesia aswell. Numbers are:1-golden yellow,2-navy blue,3-forest green,4-blood red,5-sky blue,6-pink,7-lime green,8-orange,9-yellow. 0 is weird because by itself is just pitch black but otherwise is the colour next to it. Something similar happens with time periods, often being just darker versions of the numbers. certain words like colours, company names, personal names, and other weird ones such as desk have their own colours
0=no color/gray 1=white 2=light green 3=pink 4=light purple 5=light blue 6=mix of yellow, orange and brown 7=dark blue 8=either dark green or really dark red 9=brown
I have synesthesia as well, except I think certain numbers have depth to them as well as colors. Like 20 is solid and heavy with a reddish shade because of having 5 as a factor
I see numbers with personalities and occasionally perceive feelings as food. Like the feeling I get in my body after a long run is Cheerios and period cramps is ravioli.
i just found out about synesthesia today and i’m pretty sure i have it. i have colors and genders for things, actions and people. i also have objects and i see and feel when i listen to specific songs.
I'm like this with numbers and letters. Also, some words seem to have this texture that sometimes relates to the word like, the word 'grass' seems to be spikier at the top and brown at the bottom. It also has this purple tinge, which I think is because the letter 'g' is purple in my mind. For numbers, 0-clear 1-white 2-red 3-green 4-yellowy-orange 5-blue 6-yellow 7-redy-orange 8-dark green with a tad of yellow 9-maroon 10 is white then clear, 123 is white,red and green ext.
I have this too. I didn't realize it until a couple months ago, I just thought it was something that was inside everyone's head. When I looked more into it, I noticed that not only digits but individual letters as well had colours and personalities that I associated with them. 0 is white, 1 is red, 2 is light pink, 3 is orange, 4 is blue-green, or both blue and green, 5 is sort of a burnt orange/red, 6 is darker pink, 7 is green, 8 is brown, and 9 is a deep royal purple.
0 clear 1 white 2 black 3 blue 4 red 5 green 6 orange tinged with yellow 7 yellow 8 brownish orange 9 crimson It's weird, writing it out like that just looks so right. It's like she says, if there were four red blocks it would just look wrong (though to me it would be perfect because 4 is red to me). Writing the number next to its proper color just has some sort of really satisfying symmetry to me. Knowing that, I wonder if I could give myself a headache by writing something totally wrong. 0 red 1 green 2 white 3 orange 4 blue 5 yellow 6 green 7 crimson 8 sky blue 9 lime green Hm, looking at that it's like I don't see the number and the word paired, it really just looks like two distinct colors next to each other. My brain won't associate them or match them, it keeps the work and the digit very separate. Doesn't really hurt my head though.
0 - black 1 - white 2 - blue 3 - yellow 4 - orange 5 - brown 6 - red 7 - bright green 8 - green 9 - beige/dark orange And the following numbers are very repetitive, colourwise :D It's not only numbers, I kinda sense colours in everything I hear, smell or touch. And if it's strange for someone, from my perspective I'm finding it hard to believe that there are people who don't make colour associations. :D
I see sounds as defined colors and shapes. I will see nice conversations as purples and pentagons. Angry shapes are triangles and yellows. Music can reflect various shapes and colors(dubstep=drugs). It's stupid to me to find that other people cannot see the world like I do. They must be very bored
Asaclubs96 get a concussion....you might get lucky. There's a case of a football jock who landed on his head and when he woke up he could play the piano with synthethetic colors guiding the music
In a way, I think I'd arranged these a long time ago, back when I was learning about different colours and their names, and this helped to remember them. I feel like, while others' lists on here have emotional meaning, I just placed them in an order of "least to most pigment" and attached the corresponding number on that 0-10 scale. Anyway: 0 - clear, 1 - white, 2 - yellow, 3 - orange, 4 - red, 5 - pink, 6 - grey, 7 - green, 8 - primarily blue, but can be brown as well, 9 - purple, and then 10 - black. But there are several exception double-digit numbers: 11's silvery-snow, 17's turquoise. I used to have something for 21, too, but I'm unsure of its colour lately...
Monsieur Bernoulli I'm almost the same :3 0: White 1: Dark blue 2: Bright red and slightly purple 3: Bright lime green 4: Yellow 5: Blue 6: Burgundy/Brown 7: Dark Green 8: Darker red 9: Yellow/Orange 10: Light Grey 11: Darker Grey 12-19: grey+the number-10's color 20, 30, 40 etc: white+the number/10's color 100: White Infinity: Simultaneously White and every rgb first/second iteration color
For me numbers have genders and have characteristics. 1 is female and kinda mother, 2 is male and kidlike, 3 is male and the brother of 2, 4 is female again and the sister of 2 but hasnt a good relation to 3. 5 is male again and works good together with 2 but is other than that a lonely number. 6 is male again and is calm number. 7 is female for me and is a bit bitchy sometimes. 8 is male again and also a calm number. 9 is also male and is a good friend to 8, they understand each other pretty good. so what is it what I have? Is this also synesthesia? Ive never been able to find out ..
I’m in no means an expert, but I’ve done a lot of research and to me it definitely sounds like you have synesthesia. If you really want to know you should see someone who specializes in this field and can give you a legitimate diagnosis.
Can SLP For me: 0: White 1: Dark blue 2: Bright red and slightly purple 3: Bright lime green 4: Yellow 5: Blue 6: Burgundy/Brown 7: Dark Green 8: Darker red 9: Yellow/Orange 10: Light Grey 11: Darker Grey 12-19: grey+the number-10's color 20, 30, 40 etc: white+the number/10's color 100: White Infinity: Simultaneously White and every rgb first/second iteration color
Can SLP I have synesthesia so I'll try to answer your question. No. Not for me at least. It's actually more interesting than that. For instance, 1=Yellow and 2=Green/Blue. 1/2 is simply yellow if you focus on the 1. Green/blue if you focus on the 2. If you focus on both, the 1 is yellow and the 2 is green/blue. I guess the answer is it depends. It definitely does not blend for me though. Usually one colour overpowers the other depending on the focus. Another example of this, 15. 1=yellow and 5=red. However, since 1 comes first and you focus on the 1 first, the 5 turns yellow as well. I would assume everyone is different though.
I think I have something quiet similar to synesthesia, instead of seeing colors I think of letters when I see numbers, like 6 is for me both the number and the "s". The 42 being happiness for you is the most beautiful concidence in the world. 42 is the final answer to universe and everything so happiness is the answer to everything!! Wow!!! I'm blown away!!!
0 - clear/white/black 1- black 2- blue 3- red 4- yellow 5- brown 6- orange 7- brown or very dark blue 8- light green 9- pink or violet I think this has something to do with the colorful tables of numbers for babies and toddlers. From their earliest ages they associate numbers with their colours on the table they were looking at every day. That's how I explain it to myself :P
For me 5 is the most feminine, and 3 and 9 are somewhat feminine. 6 is masculine, even more masculine than 4 i think. 7 only has a slight femininity to it. 19 is quite feminin.
That is just a trend for me. The same goes for odd/even numbers (Odd numbers are more feminine. 7 is pointy, and not very feminine, but as I said the roundish 6 is also quite masculine) For me the letter "o" is not very feminine, even though it is completely round. I guess it is connected to the sound of it. That goes for most letters i guess.
I've thought about this before. 8 and 3 are blue and red to me, and some colors have stronger associations than others (I don't associate any color for four). It's also interesting to hear how people think she's "wrong". You likely perceive colors themselves differently. If we all saw colors the same way we would all have the same favorite color, now wouldn't we? It's the same for numerical association.
For me, this is how I see the colors with numbers: 0=white and black 1=white 2=baby blue with lime green 3= normal green 4=normal blue 5=red 6=dark purple and black 7=orange and brown 8=black and brown 9= yellow And I also see words, bowls and letter with different colors A=red E=blue I=yellow O=black U=purple
I was on a random thread and I came across that trick where you give someone a series of simple math questions (in this case all adding up to 6) and then ask them to name a fruit or vegetable. I've done this before and I knew the trick, but I struggled with actually thinking of anything even edible. My first thoughts were brown, red and orange and then I struggled to something that was like those colours- carrot. What really interested me is that heaps of people seemed to have the same reaction.
I think that it is as long as you know the factors, you unconsciously set the colour while you do factor exercises and realize that one number can be composed of two that already have a colour.
+Leah Hunter Mine are almost exactly the same, except a minor shift in that I have colors on two orders. I really want to get into why a number has more than one color. I think I know why, in a way, but would like to establish a neurologically sound explanation for it.
This is how I think about numbers and even letters: 0-White 1-Black 2-Yellow 3-Cadmium Green 4-Blue 5-Burnt Orange 6-Soft Pink 7-Dark Navy Blue 8-Red 9-Rose/Bright Pink a=2, e=3, r=brown, k=grey, u=red, i=almost 4, etc. And also some abstract words such as -creativity=green -inspiration=blueish -maths=yellowish
For me, 1 is red, 2 is pink, 3 is green, 4 is orange, 5 is yellow, 6 and and 7 are purple, 8 is dark blue, 9 is light blue and 10 is orange. I’ve always had this but I never thought anything of it. Very cool!
I have this too and also only realised this wasn't 'normal' a couple of years ago. For me 1 to 10 go up at 30º then it twists around for 11 + 12 and then turns again at various increments indefinitely. Also, different scales effect the shape of the line in that 'seeing' a number between 1 - 100 is on a different line than say 10000 - 20000. I also do this for days, months and years, time and musical notation. Numbers between 1 - 10 also have personalities!
I got it too! For me 0 and 1 is white, 2 is green, 3 is light blue, 4 is darker blue, 5 is orange, 6 is violet, 7 is dark pink, 8 dark violet, 9 is really dark violet...
for me: 0=grey 1=yellow 2=dark green 3=purple 4=blue 5=sky blue 6=red 7=lime 8=slightly off-white 9=orange 10=both yellow and grey (the digits have different colours) 11=slightly darker yellow 12=yellow & dark green etc.
I associate Letters and Colors. A is Blue, B is an Average Light Brown, C is a Different Shade of Brown, D is Green, E is Dark Red and like a load of other colors too, F is Dark Green and Blue, G is Green, H is Light Blue, I is a black, J is ???, K is Pink kind of, L is like Light Blue and Dark Blue Simultaneously, and so forth.
0 - white 1 - black/white 2 - green 3 - black 4 - yellow 5 - strong red 6 - light green 7 - Something between yellow and brown, like very dark orange 8 - black or dark blue 9 - brown
I always visualize letters as colored. A - RedB - Brownish yellowC - BlueD - Gold/brownE - WhiteF - GreenG - OrangeI apply this to musical keys too, so A major is red, and A minor is dark red. This doesn't really have to do with the feel of the music, but more the color of the letter. The key of Ab is light red.
Yes! I see numbers as colors. For me 2 and 7 are kinda orange, as also are 12, 17, 19 and 22 (17 and 19 are a lighter orange). For me, 1 is black (and maybe white), 3 is an emerald green, 4 is brown (an awesome brown), 5 is red, 6 is kinda white, 8 is a dark purple, and 9 is some tinge of yellow. For forming the next number's colors, my mind mostly depends on the digits of them: 14 has the 4's brown, 15 is a combination (like a gradient) of light pink and red, and so on. ^_^
I have ordinal-linguistic personification, a type of synesthesia, that makes me associate numbers with personalities. for example 3 is an arrogant loudmouth, 4 is a shy young girl, etc. This combined with Pareidolia, which makes me recognize faces in objects where others see none, has been detrimental to my already threadbare grasp on mathematics.
Her colours are almost exactly the opposite of mine! 3, 6 and 9 are all cool colours for me (3 is light green, 6 is dark blue and 9 is an ugly olive colour). My multiple digit numbers are the colours of the different digits that make them up, so they're all multicoloured. It's helpful when I have to quickly find numbers and words, but really annoying when solving probability questions (I always confuse 5 blue balls for 6 red balls & vice versa)
For me, 1 is yellow, 2 is blue, 3 is red, 4 is purple, five is orange, six is green, seven is maroon, 8 is black, and I need to play less pool. Although, to be fare, I do actually think those numbers as those colors, even if it is likely from pool (especially 1-7). When it comes to music, I believe I'm more synesthetic. I attribute songs to colors, and I find I like albums more when it contains a wider range of colors between songs.
1= red, 2=blue, 3=yellow, 4=green, 5=super light blue (almost white), 6=red, 7=light green, 8=indigo, 9=magenta, 10= red and white (red on the 1 and white on the 0). I could continue but numbers are infinite and I don't feel like going on for that long :)
For synesthetes, are some numbers and color connections easier for you to see than others? Like for example, is 3 more obviously red than 4 is green, but you know 4 is green to you?
With me, square roots of numbers are "royal" colors of the number, with gold from the root sign. So when i see the square root of four, I see royal purple with gold, even though I know it is equivalent to 2 (which is just off sky blue). So in my case, I can't deduce anything about a number, but then again, my colors aren't dependent on their factors like Alex's are :)
I don't know if it's common or not, but if it helps, I see 1 that way too. Apparently a lot of grapheme-color synesthetes see A as red, B as blue, and C as green, which I can also relate to. So there are probably some innate patterns to be found despite the disparities.
For me… 0 = Black. 1 = White, but also a bit of pale tan. 2 = Dark blue. (Repeated 2s seem to increase brightness.) 3 = Lime green. 4 = Dark red. 5 = Light blue-grey. 6 = Orangish tan. 7 = Dark reddish brown. 8 = Crimson. 9 = Yellow. But I've found it's not just numbers; it's symbols. I can do it with letters as well. A = Red. B = Blue. C = Yellow. D = Brown. E = Bright green. F = Yellow. G = Reddish brown. ...etc.
It's so weird reading other peoples' colors. I keep thinking "No! 1 is not that color!"
+Meadow Greene Me too. I need to go calm down somewhere Dx
Piggyrus NO ITS WHITE
No, 1 is red!
Daniel Tisoň no number 2 is red number 1 is blue
Why is it so different for everybody?
But for me even if a number has double digits, like 12, I still see each digit in it's own separate color, I don't see 12 as a whole.
Same I see 1 as a brown and 2 as a yellow
BarknoorZ SAME
BarknoorZ the sides are different colors darker at 1 bluer at 2, though on the whole it is just dark blue.
Same
Same 1 is white and 2 is blue
1-yellow (slightly washed-out)
2-deep blue
3-yellow
4-purple
5-very intense red
6-orange
7-blue-green
8-purple (deeper than 4)
9-yellow (same shade as 3)
Many of these also have consistent feelings associated with them, but these are hard to explain.
I also associate months, the alphabet, and names with colors.
No 2 is the intense red
And 3 is the deep blue
aint no way bro 2 is green@@Idkwhattonamess
I can´t imagine living without synesthesia. I was always used to my thoughts spouting with colours.
i get this with the numbers with colours and personalities but i also get it with months and letters does anyone else?
yes, I have it with letters. A (red), B (brown/yellow), C (blue), D (gold/brown), E (white), F (green), G (orange), H (blue/purple), I (white), etc...
I have it with numbers, letters,months and some other things
+ruth ilowski Yes I have it with numbers, letters, names, zodiac signs, school subjects, days, months, and just other general words like left and right!
Yes I do to !!
I do to
And then I'm the opposite.
I have Aphantasia, and therefore none of the numbers exist in my mind.
Nor does anything else.
It's very empty.
Help.
Cool story bro
Woah.
It still makes you unique though
How does it works wtf
How do you know the colour and shape of your key-chains for example then? Have you just memorized the abstract list of facts? If I ask you to describe what shape and colour of your kitchen sink, what happens in your mind?
@@fromeveryting29 I just like, know I guess. I _know_ my keychain has three keys on it. I _know_ the keys are copper color. I _know_ the kitchen sink is white and square. I just can't _see_ it in my brain.
"0 is gray, 1 is a different shade of gray, 2 is an off gray, 3 is also gray": says my dog
Fun Uber Games
Fun Fact: Dogs do see color. Just not reds.
ur dog and me have the same mind
I think my dog sees beyond colors and it scares me...
I do this and also see sounds and music in color. I thought everyone did it. But my mom said I was crazy and Sesame Street did it
I do this with letters, too.
OH OH and also my numbers have genders, personalities and stories. That's normal, right? XD
BarknoorZ mine do as well!
Mine don’t directly, but i can kinda see a personality from their colours.
I agree. I don’t really see anything in numbers BESIDES for color.
I was replying to storm mechmesteren
My numbers have genders and colors
I associate numbers with genders lol
Is 6 a really sporty, girly number to you?
+Kelcey The Gaming Unicorn I think sporty..idk tho
+Some Person lol, for me the 6 is a little and playful boy, like peter pan. And the 4 is Wendy xD
same
Some Person same and personalities too
0 is black, 1 is black, 2 is black, 3 is black, 4 is also black, 5 is... black... I feel like the odd one out in the comments section.
And personally, I associate 1 or 2 digits numbers with their distinctive shapes rather than colors
Are you blind?
GeorgeNotFound be like
It would be interesting to see where people's synesthesia interacts, and how one ends up with an Irishman winning the lottery next to a river giving you the square root of 13...
Wow, I've always thought of 4 as a "blue" number and 2 as a "green" number. Though I can't quite say that I actually see the numbers in those colors when looking at them; I suppose it's more subtle than in her instance.
--Bish 4 is red--
4 is orange >:3
4 is purple
No 4 is pink
that's so weird, I can't imagine 4 not being green or 2 not being yellow.
For me its like this
1 = blue/grey
2 = yellow
3 = orange
4 = green
5 = pink
6 = sometimes red, soemtimes blue
7 = dark green
8 = orange
9 = dark blue
0 = very bright yellow
I would say, "I have ONE walnut."
If I had a second walnut.
I would say, "I have TWO walnuts."
It is interesting that while the "colourful" numbers have different colours for different people, the numbers 0 and 1 are often seen as "colourless" or black or white or something like that.
I also associate numbers with colours, but not as strong as she does:
0 - white; 1 - black; 2 - red; 3 - green; 4 - bright yellow; 5 - blue; 6 - forest green; 7 - maroon; 8 - dark yellow, almost brown; 9 - violet; 10 - light blue; 11 - skyblue; 12 - light orange; ....
0-black
1-yellow, kind of a dandelion yellow
2-red
3-pink
4-green
5-blue
6-orange
7-purple
8-brown
9-white
NUGGet3562
0 - white
1 - white or yellow (maybe light yellow?)
2 - blue (like the letter b}
3 - red {like r and e)
4 - yellow (like i)
5 - green (like g)
7 - yellow again
I'm not sure about 6, 8 and 9 but the strongest are 2, 3 and 4 in that order.
I have the same thing with days of week:
Monday: Red
Tuesday: Blue/Purple
Wednesday: Yellow/Orange
Thursday: Green
Friday: Pink
Saturday: Gray
Sunday: Black
i think that i've associate that when i was i child, at school. My teacher did buy the notebooks with a specific color for each subject.
Math: Red, Italian: Blue, English: Green, Story: Pink, Geography: Yellow
and i associate for each day the color of the first subject of the day. I don't remember why saturday = gray. Sunday = black because on Sunday i don't have school.
(i'm italian, maybe the school system is different)
Luca Lumetti Same for me, exapt monday is more yellow ;3
Luca Lumetti I have the same thing, but the colours are slightly different.
Monday = Red
Tuesday = Blue
Wednesday = Yellow/Gold
Thursday = Purple
Friday = Orange
Saturday = Green/Aqua
Sunday = Brown
Heyy my monday is also red and my tuesday is also blue! The rest is different tho
Monday: Red
Tuesday: Yellow
Wednesday: Green
Thursday: Orange
Friday: Blue
Saturday: Blue
Sunday: Red
Here's how I see the digits
0 - nothing/transparent(?)
1 - blue
2 - yellow
3 - red
4 - white
5 - green
6 - yellow
7 - brown
8 - black
9 - black
No idea why yellow and black pops up twice though
Firstname Lastname For me it's:
0 - clear
1 - light grey
2 - yellow
3 - light green
4 - red or yellow, not orange though
5 - green/brown
6 - green
7 - yellow/orange
8 - more green
9 - pink
10 - grey
24 - yellow and white
36 - green and orange
48 - yellow and green
64 - orange and yellow
Even letters have colors, and the days of the week have colors
And some words have genders
Ha so I though I didn’t have colored numbers but now reading this makes me think I do... I was immediately irked and though ‘how dare they, those are the wrong colors!’. So yeah
1- sky blue
2-yellow
3-orange
4-green
5-dark blue
6-red
7-black
8-purple
9-white
And they also have a personality.
1-nice
2-happy
3-immature
4-funny
5-lucky
6-friendly
7-jealous
8-mean
9-mature
I agree with your 4 and 9
1-black
2-sunshine yellow
3-pale pink
4-pale blue
5-saffron
6-pumpkin orange
7-scarlet
8-dark green
9-lime green
1-serious
2-goofy, class clown
3-shy
4-also shy, friends with 3
5-clumsy
6-parental figure to 5
7-sassy
8-blunt, army type?
9-interested, friends with 7
I agree with your 4. I don't associate numbers with personalities that much though.
See our favourite numbers video in which Destin talks about the same thing!
Here's my list:
0 - Clear
1- White
2 - Red
3 - Forest Green
4 - Dark-ish Purple
5 - Light Blue
6 - Orange-Red
7 - Yellow
8 - Deep Purple
9 - Deep Red
I think it's interesting how many people see 1 as white ^^
I don't blend my multiple digit numbers either. My numbers are:
Zero - White
One - Scarlet
Two - Lime
Three - Red
Four - Blue
Five - Yellow
Six - Fuchsia
Seven - Purple
Eight - Orange
Nine - Brown
Ten - Scarlet/White
Eleven - White
Twelve - Teal (The only unusual one)
Thirteen - Scarlet/Red
Fourteen - Scarlet/Blue
etc.
my 324 is yellow/greenish
My 324 is light blue, yellow, and light green.
Red= 255 000 000
Green= 255 000
Blue = 255
Black=0
White=255 255 255
Hahaha
Nice one.
Primus Productions that works too
oh ha ha ha well done.
0:White
1:Black
2:Orange
3:Red
4:Light Green
5:Forest Green
6:Sky Blue
7:Magenta
8:Brown
9:Pink
10:Gold
11:Grey
12:Dark Purple
13:Maroon
14:Salmon
15:Golden Brown
16:Leaf Green
My synesthesia is crazy. Like letters, months, days, names and most words all have colours/mix of colours, and then numbers have colours, personalities and some even have genders (despite the fact I hate anything maths related lol), and I can also sometimes hear sounds/music and they have colours and textures and patterns/shapes.
I think I have colour - grapheme synesthesia and sound - induced synesthesia? (As far as I know from research I've done idk)
I also feel certain emotions and colors with numbers! :D it's so interesting to know this is a real thing
I have synesthesia and I also see songs in colour too which helps me to pick which type of songs I enjoy the most in what moods be asue the colour will reflect it quite well :)
Wow! If you listen to classical and jazz music, could you share your favourites and the colours you associate them to? Thanks
0 - Clear/transparent
1 - White
2 - Dark blue
3 - Red
4 - Yellow
5 - Blue
6 - Maroon
7 - Orange
8 - Green
9 - Yellow
10 - White
And the personalities of colours!
I have really similar than yours :)
1:06 why does that “two” sound like the same sound effect that you hear when u send a message
omg😭😭😭you're so right
Hahahaha
1:27 I'm trying to visualize a pumpkin right now but for some reason I can't xD
Every memory/idea/object has an emotion attached to it, in my head o.o
0=no color/gray
1=white
2=light green
3=pink
4=light purple
5=light blue
6=mix of yellow, orange and brown
7=dark blue
8=either dark green or really dark red
9=brown
I have this with musical key signatures. Each key has its own colour/personality, it's really cool!
For numbers,
0-clear
1-white
2-red
3-green
4-yellowy-orange
5-blue
6-yellow
7-redy-orange
8-dark green with a tad of yellow
9-maroon
10 is white then clear, 123 is white,red and green ext.
0 clear 1 white 2 black 3 blue 4 red 5 green 6 orange tinged with yellow 7 yellow 8 brownish orange 9 crimson
It's weird, writing it out like that just looks so right. It's like she says, if there were four red blocks it would just look wrong (though to me it would be perfect because 4 is red to me). Writing the number next to its proper color just has some sort of really satisfying symmetry to me. Knowing that, I wonder if I could give myself a headache by writing something totally wrong.
0 red 1 green 2 white 3 orange 4 blue 5 yellow 6 green 7 crimson 8 sky blue 9 lime green
Hm, looking at that it's like I don't see the number and the word paired, it really just looks like two distinct colors next to each other. My brain won't associate them or match them, it keeps the work and the digit very separate. Doesn't really hurt my head though.
I’m really confused now. I thought this was normal
Me too
2:46 What- how... Well that, as it is, would have been my response exactly. Same with the days of the week and measuring units.
1: Red
2: Navy/Dark blue
3: Green
4: Dark Yellow
5: Orange
6: Violet/Purple
7: Maroon
8: Mix of Blue and Violet
9: Bright Yellow
0 - black
1 - white
2 - blue
3 - yellow
4 - orange
5 - brown
6 - red
7 - bright green
8 - green
9 - beige/dark orange
And the following numbers are very repetitive, colourwise :D It's not only numbers, I kinda sense colours in everything I hear, smell or touch. And if it's strange for someone, from my perspective I'm finding it hard to believe that there are people who don't make colour associations. :D
I not only have this type of synesthesia. I also see numbers and letters as them having a personality and them being either male or female.
I see sounds as defined colors and shapes. I will see nice conversations as purples and pentagons. Angry shapes are triangles and yellows. Music can reflect various shapes and colors(dubstep=drugs). It's stupid to me to find that other people cannot see the world like I do. They must be very bored
94699040255592155765632877 4E55D4245525048494C45 White noise?
White? Haha
94699040255592155765632877 4E55D4245525048494C45 So you have some form of Synesthesia as well?
RedHairdo Thats what it sounds like. (looks like? :p)
94699040255592155765632877 4E55D4245525048494C45 That's association, not synesthesia.
They can though. Just drop some acid and there you go.
Damn, I really want Synaesthesia, it seems so cool
Asaclubs96 get a concussion....you might get lucky. There's a case of a football jock who landed on his head and when he woke up he could play the piano with synthethetic colors guiding the music
In a way, I think I'd arranged these a long time ago, back when I was learning about different colours and their names, and this helped to remember them. I feel like, while others' lists on here have emotional meaning, I just placed them in an order of "least to most pigment" and attached the corresponding number on that 0-10 scale. Anyway:
0 - clear, 1 - white, 2 - yellow,
3 - orange, 4 - red, 5 - pink,
6 - grey, 7 - green, 8 - primarily blue, but can be brown as well,
9 - purple, and then 10 - black.
But there are several exception double-digit numbers: 11's silvery-snow, 17's turquoise.
I used to have something for 21, too, but I'm unsure of its colour lately...
I have this for numbers, days of the week and months of the year.
0 black
1 white
2 red
3 green
4 yellow
5 blue
6 orange
7 green and orange
8 maroon
9 dark grey
Monsieur Bernoulli I'm almost the same :3
0: White
1: Dark blue
2: Bright red and slightly purple
3: Bright lime green
4: Yellow
5: Blue
6: Burgundy/Brown
7: Dark Green
8: Darker red
9: Yellow/Orange
10: Light Grey
11: Darker Grey
12-19: grey+the number-10's color
20, 30, 40 etc: white+the number/10's color
100: White
Infinity: Simultaneously White and every rgb first/second iteration color
Yeah I've been wondering that too, I'd like to know
I’m in no means an expert, but I’ve done a lot of research and to me it definitely sounds like you have synesthesia. If you really want to know you should see someone who specializes in this field and can give you a legitimate diagnosis.
That is neat. My numbers have genders, too, but I haven’t give. Them relationships.
Does this blend with fractions? Like is 2.5 purple?
Can SLP For me:
0: White
1: Dark blue
2: Bright red and slightly purple
3: Bright lime green
4: Yellow
5: Blue
6: Burgundy/Brown
7: Dark Green
8: Darker red
9: Yellow/Orange
10: Light Grey
11: Darker Grey
12-19: grey+the number-10's color
20, 30, 40 etc: white+the number/10's color
100: White
Infinity: Simultaneously White and every rgb first/second iteration color
0 - clear/white/black
1- black
2- blue
3- red
4- yellow
5- brown
6- orange
7- brown or very dark blue
8- light green
9- pink or violet
I think this has something to do with the colorful tables of numbers for babies and toddlers. From their earliest ages they associate numbers with their colours on the table they were looking at every day. That's how I explain it to myself :P
I'm so jealous of synesthetes. :(
Why?
It'd be cool.
For me 5 is the most feminine, and 3 and 9 are somewhat feminine. 6 is masculine, even more masculine than 4 i think. 7 only has a slight femininity to it. 19 is quite feminin.
For me, wether the number has curvy lines or not determines the gender. Zero is an exception, it is kind of male and female.
Does anybody associate number with, colors, personalities, and genders
Littlemisspretty Yes! It’s called ordinal linguistic personification.
I also see colors when I hear musics or see letters :)
For me, this is how I see the colors with numbers:
0=white and black
1=white
2=baby blue with lime green
3= normal green
4=normal blue
5=red
6=dark purple and black
7=orange and brown
8=black and brown
9= yellow
And I also see words, bowls and letter with different colors
A=red
E=blue
I=yellow
O=black
U=purple
hey my 3 is also red
mine is red
Mine is dark green
Noooo mine is light blue
Yellow here
same ;)
I have the same! Haha we have very different number colors though
ewww as a fellow synesthete, i'm veeeeery triggered hearing you say what colors those numbers have for you hahahah
Haha same. It is so weird to hear about other's colors.
Does anyone else get really confused when she told us her colors?
+Leah Hunter Mine are almost exactly the same, except a minor shift in that I have colors on two orders. I really want to get into why a number has more than one color. I think I know why, in a way, but would like to establish a neurologically sound explanation for it.
Leah Hunter man, nine is flat now, colors have levels of roundness and gender
Leah Hunter me my colors are very different and it was kinda unsatisfying to see the numbers in different colors
I have all digits in gold/yellow color:
0. Beers
1. Beer
2. Beers
3. Beers
4. Beers
5. Beers
6. Beers
7. Beers
8. Beers
9. Beers
;)
I can made up myself that any number can be any color and I made that 69 is the purest gold, if you know what i mean
Itqon Harahap No! 69 is a messy red-brown!
This is how I think about numbers and even letters:
0-White 1-Black 2-Yellow 3-Cadmium Green 4-Blue 5-Burnt Orange 6-Soft Pink 7-Dark Navy Blue 8-Red 9-Rose/Bright Pink
a=2, e=3, r=brown, k=grey, u=red, i=almost 4, etc.
And also some abstract words such as
-creativity=green
-inspiration=blueish
-maths=yellowish
For me 0 and 1 is white, 2 is green, 3 is light blue, 4 is darker blue, 5 is orange, 6 is violet, 7 is dark pink, 8 dark violet, 9 is really dark violet...
for me:
0=grey
1=yellow
2=dark green
3=purple
4=blue
5=sky blue
6=red
7=lime
8=slightly off-white
9=orange
10=both yellow and grey (the digits have different colours)
11=slightly darker yellow
12=yellow & dark green
etc.
This happens to me with numbers, the days of the week, months and letters in general.
0 - white
1 - black/white
2 - green
3 - black
4 - yellow
5 - strong red
6 - light green
7 - Something between yellow and brown, like very dark orange
8 - black or dark blue
9 - brown
^_^
1- Darkish red. 2- depends. horribly light green/dark blue. 3-yellow. 4-brown-red. 5-dark green/disturbing sort of blue 6-white-yellow.
7-angelic blue/dark orange 8-dark orange-red-brown. 9-metallic silver 10-white.
Imma just leave this here.
0: Grey
1: Black
2: Grey-Blue
3: Pinkish-reddish? But it certainly looks cool.
4: Vanilla
5: Redder version of three.
6: Greenish
7: Grey
8: Darker 3
9: yellow-vanilla
10: Black
11:Black:
12: Grey-Blue
13: Pinker 3
14: Lighter Vanilla
15: Darker 5
For me, 1 is yellow, 2 is blue, 3 is red, 4 is purple, five is orange, six is green, seven is maroon, 8 is black, and I need to play less pool.
Although, to be fare, I do actually think those numbers as those colors, even if it is likely from pool (especially 1-7). When it comes to music, I believe I'm more synesthetic. I attribute songs to colors, and I find I like albums more when it contains a wider range of colors between songs.
For me:
1- black
2- red
3- blue
4-green
5-purple
6-very light blue
7-orangr
8-very dark purple
9-white
0-slightly transparent black/white
1= red, 2=blue, 3=yellow, 4=green, 5=super light blue (almost white), 6=red, 7=light green, 8=indigo, 9=magenta, 10= red and white (red on the 1 and white on the 0). I could continue but numbers are infinite and I don't feel like going on for that long :)
For synesthetes, are some numbers and color connections easier for you to see than others? Like for example, is 3 more obviously red than 4 is green, but you know 4 is green to you?
1-red
2-green
3-blue
4-yellow
5-cyan
6-magenta
7-orange
8-white
9-gray
0-black
A-purple
B-silver
C-fuschia
D-light blue
E-pink
F-gold
For me…
0 = Black.
1 = White, but also a bit of pale tan.
2 = Dark blue. (Repeated 2s seem to increase brightness.)
3 = Lime green.
4 = Dark red.
5 = Light blue-grey.
6 = Orangish tan.
7 = Dark reddish brown.
8 = Crimson.
9 = Yellow.
But I've found it's not just numbers; it's symbols.
I can do it with letters as well.
A = Red.
B = Blue.
C = Yellow.
D = Brown.
E = Bright green.
F = Yellow.
G = Reddish brown.
...etc.
