When I'm rendering a video, I definitely save each scene as a separate file. But just for viewing and editing, I create a Switch Layer for each scene. I wouldn't recommend rendering that into a video, but it is a nice way to see how all scenes flow together.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! This was vary helpfull. You would think that MOHO would cover this in a tutorial. Some one should just make a page of all the videos and put them there so people can learn how to use this program. Any ways thank you again for taking the time to show people how to do this and also for replying to people asking Questions. Vary cool of you to do.
Dude I love your tutorials! It’s very informative. You should better off establish your own studio or an academy for this in the future. Keep up the good work!
Just watched the tutorial! :) The idea of the keyframes of cameras and characters.. well.. I already do that on my animations but yeah it's useful. :D But making the backgrounds visible and invisible as a changing scene is such a clever idea, I didn't even know there was a visible option, I usually do the opacity! xD Great job man! ^_^
Big fan of your work. would you be able to make a tutorial on how you created a scene like the one you used in this tutorial. The 3D and depth that you gave to the scene is really great work. Thank you
What do you think about using field of view depth? Is it recommended using the blur fov creates or is it better to leave everything in focus for 2d cartoons like this one
Thanks! I am so glad that I watched! I also watched the video on how to change scenes but the camera positions info was sure helpful. I didn't realize that you have to click on the element you want to change from each scene. For example- if i want to do like you did in the video and use the same character and have him be in a different spot without changing the last scene. I just kept clicking on the scene, not the element that I wanted to move but it didn't work and I couldn't figure out why. It makes perfect scene. I bought a book but some things are just not covered in the book that should be covered. I have found so far that I am using switch files a lot. I am mixing Maya 3d images with this program and it is really nice!!!!!!! i'm doing a sci-fi movie with flying ships. I make the models in Maya 3D and then do a batch render as a Tiff file- which is a series of images and put them in a folder and import them into Anime Studio and place them in a switch file. I've done this with characters as well- it is so cool what you can do with this program. Thanks for your video tips! I learn more from your videos than I do with reading the book that I bought off of Amazon. Have a great Christmas!
I have a couple of different ones. I usually make my backgrounds in illustrator but I'm trying to do more directly in AS/MOHO. ruclips.net/video/jpvXQ_DCo9I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/gQ2wvs_RecY/видео.html
@shonuff93 Thanks for all your great tutorials. What is the role of the sequencer tab related to changing scenes and layers? Can't you just slide a layer in the sequencer and have it appear at that point?
Thanks dnbarg! I haven't really messed with the sequencer for scene work, only for stuff like offsetting effects for things like the flag and cloth tutorial.
Have any recommendations for scene transitions that will export to .flv format? I've been trying to add a fade to black at the end of some animations but none of Moho's options seem to work for it seem to work for flash export.
Nice!!!! When making things visible/hide for the different scene, would it be easier to group them by scenes and just make a key frame for the folder to be visible/hide where needed? Ex: Group your outside background in one and inside in another; click on the inside folder to hide (which will hide all the vectors in that folder), make your scene, then make visible, hiding outside and do your scene. Verse going through each vector and click visible/hide...if I'm making any sense.
D@mn......LOL! Yeah I think that would be WAY easier Tre! I didn't even think about that. The only problem I could see with that is if you're moving characters from scene to scene. I don't know if you can animate depth sorting from one folder to another but still...what you suggested would be much more organized!
:D Hmmm...I wouldn't put your characters in the folders as you're using them from scene to scene like you did. Just the background and other objects that won't be used in multiple scenes (ie: fire hydrant, bar stools). Depth sorting...would probably be a little issue. You didn't have a lot of vectors, so the way you showed it shouldn't be that big of a deal. But, with a lot more vectors in different depths...could do those closest to the cam in 1 folder, those furthest in another with the character (not in a folder) in between: So your layout would be: DeepBkgd - Character - CloseBkgd and just go in the folders and animate the objects as you see fit (ie: walking down the street with trees passing in front and houses behind). Hide those 2 and go to the next.
my characters already have bone layer. when I am making anime film, do i have to delete their movement and reanimate them.I fallow the video still not quit working out
You can change layer ordering in the timeline using sort depth option but I don't think you can move shapes above or below another on the same layer. What are you trying to do SH?
If you put your character in parts then you can use depth sorting. This video shows you how it works. I do it in the body turn action but you can do the same thing in the timeline. At about 3:00 in I use depth sorting! Hope this helps! ruclips.net/video/4GtdcZcu7Yg/видео.html
Are you using a single png or have you broken it up into parts? If you're trying to rig a single image that's gonna be a huge issue. I'll see if I can make a thrill about it later. I saw a really good one but it's in Spanish. Iidnt understand what was being said but I could follow along pretty good. If I find it again I'll send you a link.
Poptoogi yes I’m using a single png file I had it converted into a vector file but when I open it in moho it looks completely stripped and something I can’t even work with. I’d appreciate that
Here's a video I found that might help. As you can see you have to split up the PNG file into separate parts like the legs arms head tail or whatever. You have to do this because bonds only work by warping an object if it's only one object you won't be able to move other parts independently. I hope that makes sense but if you wanna send me your file I can have a look at it too. ruclips.net/video/SRFkpSEcToA/видео.html Www.facebook.com/poptoogi
Can this studio do camera movemts? I really help so I can have background move along with the characters. Or having the camera really zoom in closer to the character perspective
Please answer me:i have six cores processor, when i render in anime studio, there are only 4 CPU working (as i see on the top when i render the video: CPU1, CPU2, CPU3, CPU4, Video encoding). WHY ? :( also my RAM (32 GB) usage is only 4 GB, 28 GB available. WHY? :(
I assume anime studio only lets you render with four at a time but I would check with somebody that knows more about the programming itself I'm just a user. Ask somebody at the anime studio forum I'm sure somebody knows there.
Hi everybody. I have some problems with moho pro 12. I have a ryzen 1800X 32go ram Gt force 1080 But moho slow down And has some lag when i use the pencil tool. Whats wrong with my setup or moho pro 12?
Hi Nofil, you can apply to smart phone actions to one bone so I left and a right but that's really all you can do. You can create a second bone that is controlled by the first one and add actions to that one too. What is it you're trying to do?
Yeah thnx I was kind of rotating my arm .... And it was not right ... So I used smart bones in action pannel... But the problem now occurring.... That is I can only rectife in one side.... Either right or left
ShoNuff93 i made some self a dragon. still finding it hard yo keep the body parts moving separator. rather then having bones that effect the hole darwing
Sir Thanks for your tutorial..........I have a question 1)If i want to visible my character 1to 6 frame and invisible from 7 to 15 frame and again visible my character on frame of 16 to 25 ........so what should i do?.......please guide me with video............. .thanks sir
Double click your character layer and select visible to hide or show your character Aakash. It works just like how I hid the tables at 2:02 If visible does not have a check mark it is hidden and the layer will turn red in the timeline. If the checkmark is on it will be visible. Just turn it off and on in the timeline. Go to frame 7, double click your character layer and uncheck visible. Move to frame 16, double click your character layer again and select visible and they will reappear.
Hi Vishal, I made the background in adobe illustrator but you can make this in Anime Studio 11 as well. If you're asking if you can change scenes like this then yes, I actually made and recorded this in Anime Studio 11.
You are one of the few cool people that share so much advanced knowledge about moho for free! So thank you very much Teacher!
I rewatch your work a lot. Always very well explained and you have a great speaking voice for tutorials.

Whoa.. I was reamking a cartoon episode and had troubles with the scenes. And suddenly you uploaded this! Gotta watch it!!!! :D
Sorry for like repeating for asking you to make this vid. You seriously my MOHO hero. Cx Best MOHO tutorial maker evah. Cx

Great tutorial as always!
I render out 2 scenes
and reenter them as video clips
fewer layers
less confusion

You're making such good videos
Great tutorial again,
Thanks , just on time!
Hey, you know the regular Show cartoon, can you make a Rigby character or a Mordecai 360 degrees in Moho or an anime studio?
Thanks! I am so glad that I watched! I also watched the video on how to change scenes but the camera positions info was sure helpful. your videos are useful. i have a tiny question... what is Moho? i have anime studio pro 9.5. is it moho?
Moho is basically Anime Studio 12. They changed the name.
@shonuff93 Thanks for all your great tutorials. What is the role of the sequencer tab related to changing scenes and layers? Can't you just slide a layer in the sequencer and have it appear at that point?

Do you have any advance to do it that way?? I do a grouplayer for one scene, depose it around the mainscreen and get it into when i need it...
Ive been getting in to Moho 12. Is it better to do this or to export and place each scene into a video editing program?
The second if you want to do more fancy stuff

Show how you make your backgrounds pls
with this program, can you import premade images? like if i were to paint a coffee mug in photoshop, could i then import it into moho?
Yep! That's actually what I did. The backgrounds were all created in Illustrator and saved out as .png files and imported into MOHO/Anime Studio!
if you have made two characters in separate files, how do you add them to the same scene?
