Oh my gosh I'm so glad I found this video. The first 6 times I've tried using this product I failed miserably. The instructions were just too confusing for me. And a physical demonstration was exactly what I needed.
I shouldn't have spent 22 years working at a product testing lab, because it has made me suspicious of everything. My wife just brought one of these things home, and right away I noticed it appears to be made in its entirety of styrene or polystyrene plastic which a known carcinogen. I find no recycle code anywhere on the product. The only marking I find is a tiny figure 2 embossed, which might indicate HDPE (high density polyethylene) but that doesn't fit the physical characteristics of the product. I looked up the Material Safety Data Sheet online, but that told me nothing about the material of construction except that it conforms to California's Proposition 65, which is pretty stringent. Oh well, I guess I'll go ahead and use it. I would welcome a comment to this note.
I have similar concerns about long term use. Its incredibly convenient and surely better than my cities' tap water but in the back of my mind I cant help but wonder about what it's doing to my body
@@Axplorer86 Oh yes! After two years of use it has quite a lot of mileage on it now. We use it to fill our Keurig coffee machine (which gets a lot of use around here).
If your new filter works slowly, you might have air bubbles blocking water flow. Tap the pitcher on the counter a couple times while it's filtering, and you should see some bubbles come out of the top
I have been successfully using one of these pitchers for 2 years with the long lasting filter changed approximately every 6 months. Sometimes I need to push the filter down harder. The latest filter was dark blue instead of light blue and I bought it at the grocery store instead on Amazon or Walmart. Perhaps colors have changed. It is made the exact same. It may filter out more. I do not notice any bad taste. There is only me so it may last longer except I do have large and small cooler fans and it is better to use filtered water in those when they are needed.
Please only use the regular filters. The long lasting filters and the double long lasting filters are bacteria spawning ground. The inside will stay wet and large (visible to the human eye) bacteria spots can be seen. I recommend using the regular filter and throwing them out in 2-4 weeks. BRITA if i'm wrong let me know. I guess the visible bacteria I saw could be cloreine or something else from the water. But judging by the fact they are circular shapes, I'm certain it's bacteria growth.
It should not be running right through like that, especially that fast (even half as fast). It means it's not actually filtering. Filtering takes time so the slower it goes the more chemicals it's filtering & the better it's filtering.
Better than 2 minutes like mine. If it goes fast it means it's not working, it means it's just running right through instead of actually filtering. Filtering takes time. The slower it goes the more chemicals it's filtering out. I wish mine was slow.
That's not a good sign. It means it's just running right through & not actually filtering. The slower it goes the more chemicals it's filtering & the better. Should take between 10 minutes & an hour to fill 18 cups. Mine only takes about 2 minutes. 😑 Not good, it's also a sign it could be a defect.

Mine's a lot faster, which is not a good sign cause it means it's just running right through & not actually filtering. The slower it goes the more chemicals it's filtering & the better it's filtering. You gotta be patient but it's worth it. Your's must be filtering out a LOT of chemicals really well!! I wish mine did.
Yeah no, the filters do NOT stay in place, the often just float up and that allows unfiltered water to bypass the filter. No recommended and I give up on this POS

very confused what your talking abouy.. the longlast filter?
@@Yatti420 The entire structure. I'm not worried about it though, and we've been using it for three months now.
Are you still using it ?

never fill above the filter.

How far down do i need to push the filter? It's only like a 1/2cm down in mine is that enough?

Why is my filter baby blue instead of dark blue, I got the longlast aswell
Mines baby blue to? Do you know if the product we have is genuine?
yes they are brand new genuine and flow issues fixed. it flows to fast to filter now imho.
I rechecked and yes apparently its their new product, faster and cleaner 💧 🚰
mine is quick like that...the regular filter is very slow ..no BS
the new baby blue longlast filter too fast now compared to the dark blue.

mine flows through a lil bit faster than this 😬
baby blue ones are awesome speed wise.

Thanks. The baby blue new ones filter insanely fast. too fast If you ask me now ;)

@@HelloHello-hk4sx its not bad. no smell taste etc that most people hate.
There’s absolutely no way you could get it to filter that quickly. This ridiculous filter goes one drop at a time.
not anymore the baby blue are speed demons.

Will it work in an 18 cup filter?

Doesn't help. Keeps pooping up

These things dont last more than a week, what a waste of money
buy a new one they all work fine.
