Looking at the commonalities between those who have been in such situations would help to explain the probable causes and affects. The question is though.. how does a spirituality affect the mind. The Bible says to guard your mind and heart. Being careful what is allowed in. Common sense says if you listen to liars on a consistent level.. that there will be an affect. Either anger at the constant lying or starting to believe the lies. This is why I have the right to decide who I listen to and who I don't and why I should understand my own thoughts and thought life. It would be interesting to see the actual affects on the brain when being lied to and how the brain reacts versus justifying or denying those lies. Emotions must have a linkage to the brain because thoughts can either encourage feelings or dismiss them. What is it that happens within the mind when a sudden emotional outbursts is had. I know personally anger can begin to make the mind feel as if it is going to explode. The blood pressure build up affects the physical and the mental capability to think straight. How does that physically happen.. what's the physical change that happens biologically. In the same way thoughts can affect the emotions and emotions can be clouded.. which in turn can affect the mind and the ability to think. It's known that stress can be used in a positive way.. we need a certain amount which can become the adrenaline.. but when there's too much it becomes a negative. What's the inner chemical reaction then? Brain waves are an inner electrical system that then runs through the nervous system allowing the messages to flow through. It makes sense then for the importance of mind body and spirit or emotions to be in balance. Hence the importance of the Asian Masters who have practiced such a thing for many generations. They understand the importance of self control over each. Yet still have the ability to push through barriers of physical pain and pushing self past what would be considered normal everyday ability. Mastering self rather than controlling others. This is why they are important to me.
